The blonde momentarily scowled at the other person’s comment. She knew that, realistically, she never looked washed out. Her skin tone was perfect in any lighting and filter. “The second one is a safe choice, but I agree,” Carly replied, with a click of her tongue. Not that she was used to taking risks, not anymore, but she liked the idea of presenting herself as some sort of renegade to this boring student body. “Carly Wilde. Miss, to you, unless you’re a fellow Dominant.��

Maya hummed vaguely at the seemingly tense notion of the photo being a safe choice. She had some choice words about how she’d just been asked for her opinion but decided against voicing them. Over time, she’d learned that sometimes, it was better to keep her bite to herself. “Well, nice to meet you, Miss,” she offered mostly pleasantly. “I’m Maya.”

Carly raised an eyebrow at the comment, recognising it as a joke but deciding to mess with her head slightly. “I don’t know, do you subscribe to my OF?” Sbe quized with a hum following it, before showing her the pictures, switching between the two filters she was stuck on. “I look very gross and pale so need a more tanned image without it looking too…filmy, you know?”

At the question, Maya just raised an eyebrow, allowing her gaze to briefly flicker down the other girl before it returned to her face. “Not yet,” she simply quipped before she focused on the pictures she was being shown. Which -- would certainly serve as a motivation to subscribe. “Hmhm. The second one, I think,” she settled on after a moment. “It doesn’t make you look as washed out.”

“Super sorry to bother you,” Carly announced drily as she approached the brunette, finishing up from class. “I took these photos early this morning, and I need help with a filter. It’s a big decision for me.” She was about to show the photos, before holding her phone to her chest. “Just a quick check, they’re off me in my underwear. That doesn’t make you uncomfortable, right?”

Maya glanced up at the strangers approaching her outside of class, confused for only a moment before a small smile popped up on her face. She’d been a go-to for photo choice and editing plenty of times before so she was game immediately -- although the added information of it being underwear-photos made her raise an eyebrow. It was one of the more creative ways she’d been hit on, she had to admit. “Nothing I haven’t seen, right?” she joked, waiting to see the potos.

Whitney grinned at the look Maya gave her when she tossed the rollerskates at her friend. “I think it’ll be fun.” She said, before the other Switch could even say anything. “Come on, May….we could get into roller derby together?”

“I told you, I’m down to try pretty much anything at least once,” Maya shrugged, struggling to catch both of the rollerskates at the same time. She got one, at least. Sitting down on the bench, she shot Whitney a playfully sharp look before beginning to tie on the skates. “If I break any bones, you have to nurse me back to health.”

Spain and Greece, if I ever get the chance. Mexico again was on it too but I managed to cross that off this week. What’s your favorite thing to bake?

I’m pretty sure if I could stay in Mexico forever I genuinely might, but I’m also kind of excited to come back for summer. I’ve never really done this whole college-esqe kind of thing and it seems like it might be nice! If anyone has any tips on keeping up with studies and stuff it’d be super appreciated. Also I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to mention we’re having another summer sale once the Mexico trip is done at Secondhand Stories, all clearance books are going to be 50% off their original price so come give an old book a new home, and a lot of love!

It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? But trust me, there’s just as much fun to be had at Devereux! We should definitely make some fun plans for when we’re back so we can keep the summer vibe going.

Italy is beyond a dream, the food here is liking nothing I’ve ever tasted in my life and I truly do think I can stay here forever. Though honestly there’s a part of me that can’t wait to get back to campus and start putting some of the recipes I’ve been learning to practice at Trixies Treats! 

Ooh, I’ve always wanted to go to Italy, it just sounds so fun. Definitely remind you to put in an order with you when you’re back so I can live vicariously through your food.

Since all of her plans for the summer had fallen through and Lottie hadn’t given much effort into fortifying friendships or any sort of interaction to give her something to do, she figured that this event would give her a little motivation. She couldn’t remember if she had ever spoken to Maya or not and she thought it would be a little rude to ask, but it would be better than acting as though they hadn’t met before when they had. “Apparently we matched for this little thing but honestly speaking, I can’t remember if we’ve ever spoken before.”

“I think we’ve spoken at cheer before,” Maya mused, head tipping to the side as she thought. After a beat, she reached out her hand for Lottie to shake anyway. “But, it’s nice to officially meet you. Have you managed to talk to a lot of people yet?”

It was strange to Ezekiel, that three of his four matches were people he was on a semi-comfortable basis with, and he wished it was a full house, which it would have been if, somehow, Maddie made the list. But maybe it was the universe telling him something. So instead he had talked to Maya, who he was friendly with and matched with. “So, do you have a… game plan?”

Narrowing her eyes playfully at Ezekiel, Maya hummed as she scanned the crowd. “Not really. I’ll just talk to everyone, see who I feel more comfortable with and whom I’d most like to spend the summer with. Get a feel for everyone. And you?”

You’re awesome so if they don’t pair you with someone awesome then they just suck.” She decided. “Me and Ma'am are off to see the world, though that does include going on the Mexico trip.”

“Thank you, if it works out I’ve definitely got you to thank,” Maya laughed easily, excitement obvious on her face at the mention of the Mexico trip. “I’m definitely going there too. It’s really cool that this school offers so many trips like that.”
