i’m gonna say it
having teenages and ppl in their early 20s with little to no experience with irl sex, dating and LGBT communities lead online discourse on what is sexual orientation and what labels mean has done incredible damage to our community
so much of the shit that has come out of twitter and tumblr in the recent years literally sounds like a homophobic fever dream but if you dare point that out you will be sent death threats by a swarm of teenagers who have never talked to a lesbian offline

All women are forced to live under an arbitrary and unfair system which sorts us into the categories of “Fuckable” and “Worthless.” The solution to this is NOT to expand the definition of “Fuckable.”

Good news out of Birmingham—Marshae Jones will no longer be prosecuted for the loss of her fetus during a fight last year, in which she was shot. It should go without being said that she had no business being charged in the first place, but this case also shows that our collective outrage still matters, even in a state like Alabama. We helped raise money for her bail, we made calls into the DA and Governor’s office, and we helped amplify this story across social media. There is a long road ahead for Marshae, and I wish her nothing but peace and healing. For her sake, and for the sake of all those who have been threatened and persecuted by the state before and after her, please remember the power of your voice. We have so much left to fight for!

I feel like when Menstrual huts in Nepal are brought up to support arguments, they're dismissed because Americans and Euro-centric people have no experience with this kind of discrimination. They don't understand how much it fucks with your mind to be a woman segregated from her family for having a period.
I am Nepali but I was born/raised in America, so I'm pretty used to the whole "gross but not super-shunned" American mindset on periods.
Four years ago, my father remarried a very traditional Nepali woman, and with her came her family.
My step-mother soon noticed when I would be on my period, since our whole family shares one bathroom and despite how I try to hide it, it's pretty obvious what I'm doing when I go to the bathroom tons of times a day. Her family began watching me whenever I went into the kitchen, I couldn't touch anything there or else I'd 'soil' it, I couldn't get a glass of water without being watched. I was told I couldn't sit on a certain side of the couch, couldn't enter certain rooms, and could not touch my baby brother or hug my father. Because I was on my period, and I was 'impure'.
Now like, that's not even a FRACTION of what some women in Nepal actually go through. Where they are forced out into huts with no heat, little to no food or water, no cleaning supplies, and are forced to stay inside for the duration of their periods. Many times women are raped and/or assaulted during this period.
There is such a depth to women's suffering that is glossed over by the rest of the world. It took me the tiniest bit of discrimination of this type to really be able to realize "hey, this is actually TERRIFYING".
And now I can imagine how little people truly care when they hear "Menstrual Huts" in an argument, because they have no experience with or knowledge of the subject. Truly, it's made me realize how much I fear for myself, my sister, and women all over the world. It's made me realize how much our natural bodies are hated and feared and disgusted. And how men control societies so much that they can create an entire tradition where our bodies and our lives are shamed and punished.

I started an Onlyfans during the pandemic. There's some money when you first sign up, but the audience wants new new new so it dries up quickly. In six months I've made $300. It makes you want to spend money on sex toys and nice lingerie and makeup. So I spent money, didn't make money, and now I have to live with the fear of friends and family seeing my stolen content posted to free sites. I wish we talked about this. People know strippers have to pay other club employees and sometimes that takes all the money they make. But they think cam work or Onlyfans means unlimited cash even though the site takes a huge cut and so does whoever referred us. Even though everyone knows most men never pay for porn. There are sites that repost pics and videos from OF with the names, workplaces, and even addresses of the girls. That's terrifying!!!!! I'm so stupid I was just desperate. Did you ever watch the documentary Hot Girls Wanted? They made almost no money after months of getting fucked on camera. It's also crazy how nobody is questioning this idea the best money women can make is by selling our bodies to men. That's not even true and if it were it should scare us.
thank you so much for sharing this, I really appreciate it. hopefully other girls or women thinking about going into only fans might see this and think twice.
for a generation raised on “what you post on the internet never goes away” people sure as hell don’t talk about this shit enough, reposts WILL happen and possibly with your personal info. it makes me so angry and sad to know that this type of shit is being marketed as safe or healthy
yes i’ve watched that documentary and its so fucked up, I highly recommend it

want to make a post abt the pregnant 18yr old member of my tribe being found dead on Thanksgiving Eve but I dont feel like yall ignoring me while you repost generic links to Indigenous organizations you have no intention of donating to.
Her name was Jalajhia Finklee & she was a Mashpee Wampanoag. Tomorrow is going to be a different kind of pain for our tribe. Pray for us.
