what are some of your favorite romantic tropes?
oohooHOO *rubs my romantic little homosexual hands together*
rivals to lovers (obviously)
childhood best friends to lovers
mutual pining
mutual pining but not because they’re repressed or tragically divided by their duties or allegiances or anything, they’re just too stupid to realize that they’re both being flirted with the entire goddamn time
extremely powerful and intimidating non-human being falls for the first Dumbass McNobody to call them a bitch to their face
a variation of that trope where the powerful being falls for the idiot too dumb of ass to be scared of them but pure of heart and full of love enough to admire their raw strength and power and find them attractive despite any monstrous features they may have
yet ANOTHER variation of the trope where the powerful being is the chill one who is extremely impressed by their fragile but fiery human S.O.
gentle tall x feral small
overprotective worrywart x reckless showoff (aka “what kind of idiot - oh shit that’s MY idiot)
the battle couple
“screw love triangles, we all have TWO hands”
normally stoic secretly pining character gets hurt/sick and shock or delirium has them confessing all their secret feelings
character gets hurt/sick and their normally stoic secret admirer confesses all their feelings because they’re terrified they’re about to lose them and/or don’t think they’ll remember what they said or realize that they’re awake and can hear them
the “i don’t know much… but i do know i love you” moronic duo
partners in crime (often combined with the moronic duo)
sun/moon; red/blue; devil/angel… just the complementary opposites dynamic in general
“you’re the only person on this entire planet i can vibe with (so how about let’s ditch these clowns and make out)”
reformed villain trying to do the right thing which is strongly motivated by their desire to impress the one person who sees the potential for good in them so that they might eventually be worthy of their love and can confess their true feelings (but they’re not above fucking shit up if said crush gets injured or threatened)
the thing where one person scoops up the other and carries them to safety (sometimes with them still shouting/shooting at their opponents)
fake dating for an undercover mission gets a little too real (and then they both have to work even harder to convince the other person that it’s not an act after the mission is completed)
everyone just assumes they’re dating, resulting in some hilariously confusing interactions and panicked realizations of feelings when the truth finally comes out that that isn’t the case

Stiles was literally begging, begging, Scott to believe him. To hear him out for just one second. Stiles has never been one to beg for anything. Literally, with everything that’s happened and is happening, Scott has become so conflicted that he literally can’t even see just how much his best friend needs him to listen. It’s come to that point guys, and I am fucked up.

Heaven Sends More than Rude Notes
To be honest, Crowley feels as if he’s still reeling from promises of one day to ‘you-go-too-fast-for-me’, to… well, to whatever it is they seem to have now.
Slowly, painstakingly slowly, Aziraphale has started to catch up. He isn’t sure what changed with the angel, but there’s something a little more daring lately, and Crowley can’t possibly refuse it.
So of course, when he offers drinks at the bookshop in a week, Crowley accepts immediately. He wouldn’t miss those hidden carefree nights for anything – even Lord Beelzebub herself. And that night can’t possibly come quick enough. Patience is a virtue, after all, and Crowley figures as a demon, it’d only be natural for him to ignore that one.
And if there were anything more to it, well, no one but him would have to know.
He knocked thrice on the door, vaguely eying the rather confusingly complicated sign displaying opening hours. Aziraphale must’ve changed them again. Before Crowley could consider this further, the door swung open.
“Crowley! Do come in,” Aziraphale stood in the doorway of the bookshop, gesturing for him to go by with a smile. Tension seemed to drop off Crowley’s back as he did; he could always let his guard down just a little bit around the angel.
“Right,” Crowley said, “What drink of choice shall we drown ourselves in unseemly amounts of this time, angel?” He smirked, eyebrow cocked.
Although the intention for the two of them was most definitely to get absolutely pissed (he’d put it more politely when inviting the demon over), Aziraphale still had the audacity to send a judgmental eye at him anyways. He snorted. Of course, the angel would.

So, in this scene, everyone seems to focus on Aziraphale bringing his wing up to protect Crowley, and while I agree it’s amazing and adorable, I want to talk about the fact that he apparently does it because Crowley moves toward him first. Why does he do that?
My current theory is that Crowley, having never experienced rain before, wasn’t entirely sure that it wasn’t holy, i.e., something that could hurt him, so he flinches toward Aziraphale, who is not only the only one we know of to have treated Crowley with respect recently, but also the only one who could possibly protect Crowley from something holy.
We’ve also seen that angels, at least high-ranking angels like Gabriel, sometimes cause lightning when they descend from heaven: maybe Crowley was worried a more powerful angel was on their way and just automatically moved toward this angel, whom he’s just met, but who treated him like an equal and with zero aggression.
Regardless, Crowley has no guarantees here: this thing in the sky might be dangerous, this angel may not bother protecting him, but Crowley’s instinct is to move toward him anyway. And Aziraphale (who has also never seen rain before) immediately comes through for him: he may or may not know what the lightning and rain are—in fact, it’s possible he knows they’re not dangerous, because he doesn’t move at all until Crowley does—but either way, he notices that Crowley seems worried about them, and he responds accordingly and kindly.
It’s no wonder Crowley seeks Aziraphale out after this: how many people has he had do anything like that for him, even those who knew him for much longer than Aziraphale?

I just saw the deleted scenes from good omens! I love all of it so much. In the scene with crowley taking out the cell phone tower, why do the rats listen to him? I mean he is technically a snake, shouldn't they be scared of him? Just funny, thought I'd ask. Have a great day! 😁
He is technically a demon. Who is sometimes a bit snakey. And if I was a rat, I’d be much more inclined to take orders from someone who might eat me if I didn’t than someone who is just nice and sweet and puts food down in the alley outside his bookshop every night.

“The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”
— Kurt Vonnegut (b. 11 November 1922), A Man Without A Country (via existential-celestial)

I read that capsaicin makes your mouth feel like it's burning because it increases your nerve sensitivity to heat, and menthol works by doing the same thing to cold
So if I eat a habanero pepper and then chew a bunch of breath mints they'll each other out and I'll be fine

what kills me about crowley-as-aziraphale is that crowley sees aziraphale so without fear. after six thousand years of fuss and nervousness and the dance of invite-rejection-rephrase-acceptance, he puts on aziraphale’s body and goes to face the consequences with all the calm and fearlessness he has always seen as the steel spine at the core of aziraphale. that steel is what gave away the flaming sword at the very beginning, even though aziraphale second-guessed it afterward, and crowley’s always seen it for what it was. he has always known aziraphale’s heart, as much as aziraphale tried to hide it, from heaven, from himself. but not from crowley. never from crowley. to crowley aziraphale has always been about compassion, and kindness, and hope. crowley understands what’s lacking in heaven, and he sees none of that lack in aziraphale. aziraphale is the light heaven’s missing. to crowley, aziraphale shines.
