I think a lot about Malak's "If I'd been in your place, could I have been redeemed too?" from the light side ending for several reasons. For one it's one of the few times in the game that Malak isn't just being presented as the two-dimensional villain he is in the rest of the story. For the second, it's another example of kotor 1 pushing it's "brainwashing to the light side=redemption" thing, which is... interesting.

And for the third: imagining the Jedi council actually trying their brainwashing plan with Malak is really funny. Because like 40% of why brainwashing Revan worked is because they're the most anonymous person in existence. And Malak just, isn't.

Look at them

No one is going to look at brainwashed Revan and think that they're the dark lord of the Sith, partly because everyone thought Revan was dead, but also because under that mask they could be literally anyone. Most people in the galaxy probably had their own headcanons for what Revan looked like, and they probably didn't imagine the average Joe/Jane that you play as during the game.

Meanwhile a brainwashed Malak will have heard how he 'looks just like that dead sith lord' a hundred times before even leaving Taris.

Had this in my WIP folder for a while, but this was inspired by the part of my original draft of my SWTOR fanfic (that I have uploaded long ago but took down cos I was planning to rewrite it at some point) where they're all stuck in an elevator.

the funniest thing to me personally about the sith warrior storyline in swtor, is that every companion you pick up and arguably everyone you meet is undeniably obsessed with you, for better or worse. but because the warrior is so constantly depersonalized and made into a Concept, they have no awareness of this fact. it's like this:

sith warrior: i am a dog/weapon/motif to be wielded and nothing more

literally everyone: i've had the empire's wrath for a day and a half and if anything happens to them i will kill everyone here and then myself

Why Does Everyone Hate Dromund Kaas?

I love that joke. But I wonder why. What is it about Dromund Kaas that makes most Imperials hate the place?

Is it the weather? Too many Sith in one place? Is the Emperor's presence all over the planet giving everyone the heebie-jeebies? I've been wondering if the humidity would affect Imperials and Sith's old war scars? Or those healed injuries from two weeks ago. With Kolto things heal fast.

Being on Balmorra is nice and all, you get to listen to the incredible OST and just stand there and take in the sight of the war-torn landscape around you, and it can get you thinking about the ultimate meaninglessness yet unrelenting horror of war no matter what side you’re on once you strip away any perceived justification for it and maybe, just maybe the writers were trying to say that, and then you decide to move a little bit to get a better view and JESUS CHRIST WHERE THE FUCK DID THE GODDAMN COLICOIDS COME FROM ADSJFPAIWEURAKJLDSFFO
