The person that influenced me in SYCEP experience is Nga Vu. At the first day I started to work in the office, I was assigned to work with Nga. She helped me with the working process such as input data, how to help our vietnameses apply for insurance, translated bills. It was difficult for me to adapt with the internship and I worried for my next 6 weeks. Insurance application made me felt intensive because I feared if I messed up the procedure so people wouldn’t have insurance and I might get fired.
When my first customer came, Nga said that she would show me the first model procedure so I could follow the it for my next person. It was not easy like I thought because of many unknown documents or steps that I needed to take to complete the form. Fortunately, Nga was very enthusiastic and kind with me because she taught me every single step to avoid making mistake because our office was taking full responsibilities from completing the insurance application.
Day by day, I got used to the procedure of my daily internship. However, the job was not only about insurance application but also translation. At the beginning, I thought it was simple but the reality was totally conflict with my expectation. When I translated, there were many words that I could not translate with exact meaning. I had to translate in an understandable way between two language which made sense for audience. Whenever i was struggling with difficult word, Nga supported me and made my work became smoothly.
Throughout the program, Nga was the person who inspired me to keep trying hard. I wanted to learn more experience from Nga. SYCEP was an ideal program because it equipped with necessary skills for their desire career. In addition, it created opportunities for youth to acknowledge about actual workplace and life experiences. Throughout SYCEP, I had learned many thing like insurance application process, translation and worked with communities. I believed everything that I learned throughout 6 week internship program had prepared me for my college and future. I would recommend SYCEP for my friends due to its enormous benefits.

Discuss in at least four paragraphs on how you will use your worksite experience to pursue your future academic, professional, and personal endeavors.”
This year 2014, I joined the summer program of BPSOS name SYCEP. The program take six weeks long and I had been working for BPSOS office. During the first week, I has a lot of pressure because I didn't know much about all the information at my work place and what I suppose to do. I have to learn and remember all the information and understand clearly about the job that I had taken.
First, I learn how to the data entry to the computer and make an intake for the people who's come to the office ask for helping. However, my main job is to assist in Obamacare and insurance sign up for senior people. Which is to help the elder people to apply for their insurance and Obamacare especially for the Viet community. I learn many new things when I worked with the elder people and also with my manager.
Furthermore, one of another experience that I has gained is the translation. With the bilingual and knowing two languages, it's helped me to develop my skill as a translator. I helped the elder to translate the letters, bills and o the stuff that they need help. That is one of the way I can improve my English and how to work with elder people.
Even though the program is not ended yet, but I learned a lot of experiences during the time I worked in BPSOS. With all the things I has done and learned from the jobs for about five weeks, it's one of the knowledge that I has gained and being prepare for my future job and career. Also, I improved my English and Vietnamese while I'm working in BPSOS as a translator and I will keep improve it because it's will be a lot of helpful for me in my future.

Describe your dream job and why
My desire is to become a game developer and get a master degree in computer science. In order to reach my goal, first of all, I need to develop my programming skill and improve my understanding about game industries. I have researched online about different majors and decided to settle with computer science. The reason is because I have a huge interest in creating and playing games, and I believe this major will satisfy my desire. Becoming a talented program developer is my goal.
I have been researching game creation and the game industry in general since I was fifteen. In addition, I have been reading several books relating to game development, such as “How to Create Your Own Game,” in order to gain more knowledge about the field. Through my research, I learned about necessary steps in developing a game. I have tried to create some basic games such as bomber, chess, and space war. In my free time, I also self-teach coding and programing languages. It is difficult to memorize all the codes as it takes me a lot of time to do so, and yet I am still learning about them. As I achieve my goal of becoming a game developer, I want to create games that people enjoy and help them to relax after a long day at work.
However, my current priority before I become a game designer is to complete high school and get into a good college. I spend most of my time finishing school assignments and researching graphic or program design. Even though it is hard sometimes to manage my time effectively, I still keep trying. I plan to get into a technology university after high school and obtain an internship position relevant to my major. After getting a master degree in computer science, I will find a position in a game development company to gain more experiences and skills. I believe I can do it if I try hard enough.
Additionally, if I succeed, I will open my own company. We already know that technology is developing tremendously fast. Besides game design for entertainment, I want to create more educational, interactive, communicative programs like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. I used to love to see how exciting my sister and brother were when they are competing with each other on an educational game named “learning game for kids.” That was the first time I felt interested in game and I dreamed to create many like it. In the near future, I believe my games and programs can support our young generation educationally and enhance the relation between people through social network. Thanks to Skype, Facebook and other social network, I can keep in touch with my old friends and families in my home country Vietnam. Technology has shortened the distance in communication and I appreciate its conveniences to our life.
There are a lot of obstacles in my education and life, but they will not stop me from achieving my goals and making my dream come true. I will try hard to get my master degree in computer science and become successful. For my successful future, I will not give up on my dream to try makes positive changes in our life.

Discuss how you can develop your StrengthsQuest strengths, within and outside your work site.
After I do my StrengthsQuest strengths, I receive 5 things that telling about my self and my strengths. There are activator, competition, strategic, command and includer. These feedback is helping to understand more about myself and what is my personality when I read my strength result. It help me to know that what I am strong in about and what is my weakness is.
First of all, I need to challenge myself to focus on pursuing my dream . Additionally, I volunteer for BPSOS and involved in many events such as Tet holiday, Viet Vote, and rallies. Throughout those events,my command and activator trait have greatly improved because I volunteer to lead the group. However, my weakness is about self-control and impatient. I can’t focus on tasks completely due to external distraction.
Furthermore, I mostly rush myself on doing thing without patient. I’m a hot-tempered person that sometime cannot keep myself calm. I am working hard to improve it through peer developed program where I can try to collaborate with others as well as meditation with music or reading book. Based on this result, I can plan to improve my weakness and empower my strength
In the near future, I hope that I would see myself being more success. However, I believe in myself that will that I will improve my skill, leadership and overcome myself t reach my goals. Through SYCEP program I can gain new experiences, enhanced my skills or strengths as well as improve my weaknesses.

Talk about how you keep yourself accountable especially when you are continuing to adapt to your work site
By the time that I am working at BPSOS, I'm feeling that I am preparing for my future job. Everything I do, I will set the limit time for myself to complete it, and make sure if it right first, then I can submit and begin to start the next step. However, Every project that I has been give out to me, I will make it organize as an important thing to do first and then do the other stuff that least important.
Also, I manage myself by making myself accountable for me that is how I spend my time. Even outside of work, I did the same. Schedule a time each week to reflect. Eventhough when I spend my money for something, I have to think if it useful for me or not because I just don't want to waste my own money that I has been working really hard for the stuff that I don't need.
Additionally, I am responsible for my action and what I did even though it's right or wrong, I'm still respond for it. When I'm working I will ask for the instruction and understand clearly what I am suppose to do and begin to do after that.
Right now, I am continuing to adapt to my work place and try to develop myself to gain more experience and prepare for my future. It is an opportunity for me to begin my future and be more responsibility for myself and at the work place.

I have to learn a news thing and prepare to work for the requirement at the work place. I have to understand the rules and know all the information.
The most difficult for me is a language barrier. At my work place, I have to understand and well in English and how to read and translate it in Vietnamese. However, I am helping the elder people to apply for the health insurance and the letter.
It might took me a little time to know more about this job. Also, I do my best to be able to translate from English into Vietnamese and help the older people to understand what they should do.
