Imagine not only being stuck in an endless timeloop, but someone else being stuck alongside you forever. Palm Springs is a refreshing take on the "Groundhog Day" film genre by seemingly looking like a funny and witty comedy on the outside. But watching the film, you see it delve into the conversation of Marriage. Can someone be happy spending forever with one person? Is there a point to Marriage in the modern world of open relationships and hook-up sex? Should we burden ourselves with Marriage and or making a family that we have to commit one hundred percent to? Can we truly be happy alone?

The things this show does right are done perfectly. The acting is phenomenal, the directing is gorgeous to look at and is always next level with how the camera moves, how close or far it is from a subject and is never Boring which a lot of projects (especially television) does. And the script works for the setting the show is set in, of course teenagers would say some stupid things, they're still kids.
But, I believe it centres its main focus on how explicit and realistic it is a little too far. Now, I am not saying it is condoning and glorifying drug, alcoholism, and abuse. But it can be a bit jarring and somewhat unneeded.
But alas, I really did enjoy the first season and can see why the show is so popular and critically acclaimed. All the characters feel believe able and you can sympathise with how they act (except for Nat and Cal Jacobs). And the show is really enjoyable to watch.

Here are my fave films of 2021 in order. I still haven't watched The French Dispatch and House of GUCCI yet and they might make the list. But besides that, here is my list of the 12 films I really enjoyed in 2021. Including four Marvel films.

My ★½ review of The Last Duel on Letterboxd https://boxd.it/2tuZtv
Seems they spent more time on the fight sequences and giving Ben Affleck funny dialogue more than the actual meaning behind the film.

WOW!! I'm just blown away. The love and care they took into making this scream movie is through the roof. Wes Craven would be so proud and happy about this instalment. The mixture of old and new characters was chef's kiss, the kills where out of this world, and some if the twist where executed nicely. It's just nice to sit down and watch an interesting and exciting Scream movie again.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut left me feeling meh. I mean, it did convey the emotions and tension it wanted to through its camera work, score, editing, acting etc. But it was just good. Not bad, not great or amazing, just good. And I feel really sad and bad about that. Because when a movie is amazing, you are constantly thinking about it because it made such an impact on you. But also when a movie is bad, you still think about it because you can't grapple with how bad or awful it was. But when a movie is just good, you just forget about it because it left no impact on you. I am really sad this movie was just good because I really wanted it to be great. But it was just good.
