Another Saturday night, another great movie.   And another love story.  Love, Simon is about finding yourself during your teen years - in this case, senior year.  Simon has a big secret that no one knows.  Simon connects with another gay teen and they find support in emailing each other. But Simon’s secret is revealed before he comes out and this causes lots of situations with family and friends.  I won’t give away the ending, but it’s a good one.
I strongly recommend this movie for a variety of reasons.  First, it’s a great whole family movie - there is some swearing and mature themes, but overall nothing that they wouldn’t see or hear at school.  Second, it really helps teens focus on being happy with who they are and embracing their differences and vulnerabilities.  Finally, it shows that you really are never alone - find support in your family, friends, or peers.  Never give up.
Be sure to be on the look out for more movie and show reviews.  I will also be discussing some accessibility issues shortly.

Ok - here’s the skinny of When We First Met, a Netflix original movie.  Noah who is played by Adam DeVine (you might remember him from the tv show Modern Family) is the main character along with Alexandra Daddario who plays Avery.
Here’s what happens - Noah and Avery recall their first meeting at her engagement party - they met 3 years ago and hit it off.  Noah clearly loved Avery but he waited too long to kiss her and Avery ends up with another man - her fiancee Ethan who is played by Robbie Amell.
Noah then travels back in time several times to try and change what has originally happened.  Each visit to the past is filled with comedic misadventures.  For example on one of his trips back to the past, he gets hit by a plant being wielded by Carrie, who is played by Shelley Hennig.  On his last trip through the photo booth, he realizes what true love is.
When We First Met has a lot of laughs, and pretty good acting.  The story is far-fetched, but does remind us to pay attention to those around us and the possibilities that may exist in the present.  If you like romantic comedies with a bit of fantasy, this movie is for you.  There is some swearing so be prepared if you are watching it with your younger siblings or other family members.
Enjoy - will be back soon with some more info on other movies and tv shows.
