HOME SWEET HOME! + > Located in Whatever, Rhode Island, the Sylvester Suites are considered the highlight of the East Coast by exactly no one. Owned and operated by professional asshole, Sue Sylvester, they're not old, really, but they aren't young either--and many of the rooms aren't actually up to code. Still, the place has character. Or, it did, before its residents were permanently kicked for winter renovations. Now that all safety and fire hazards have been addressed and eliminated, rooms are legally back on the market, and Sue has big plans to woo millennials with new amenities and weekly events. While she doesn't care about her tenants, she does care about their money. Either way, come reap the cheap benefits. mobile nav

full name: hunter jonathan clarington. face claim: nolan gerard funk. gender + pronouns: cismale, he/him. orientation: pansexual, panromantic. hometown: denver, co. united states. occupation: business owner / manager. employer: kingsland record shop. birthday + zodiac: november 13th, scorpio.
HEADCANONS.
Being the oldest in his family, Hunter always felt like he had a sense of responsibility. He was the first to attend school, the first to ride a bike; the first child in his family to do many things. And he took pride in that. He held his name as high as his father held their last name as a whole. From a young age he was taught to take pride in himself, and to never let anyone damage said pride. If he made a mistake he owned up to it, but any mistakes he made were rare. His successes were praised highly; if anyone looked upon the Clarington family from the outside, most would say that the children were spoiled.
When his mother passed when he was sixteen, Hunter was the first to notice how it impacted his father. And when long days turned into late nights, and home-cooked meals were turned into take out nightly, he began to act out. His grades began to slip, and he was staying out later and later each night. It soon got to the point where his father snapped, and punished Hunter in a way he seemed fit. Hunter was locked in his room on the nightly; only let out to eat and shower until his grades returned to their straight-A average. He would stay up all night studying and his father would all but shove coffee down his throat the next morning for school. And after that stint, Hunter knew better than to act out publicly. So he started doing it in private, but every time his father found out the punishment would be the same. As time went on, the punishments got worse; all the way up to Hunter’s father telling him he hated him.
Around his extended family, Hunter is warm; kind. He treats them in the way he wished he was treated – like a person. Hunter grew the mindset early on that most that tried to become his friend wanted to be that for money. He had a few friends growing up, but from what Hunter noticed, they only seemed to be there when they’d get something out of it. And that was something that Hunter hated. He felt used; like there wasn’t anyone he could trust. And the mental abuse his father put him through only further proved that.
Once he turned eighteen, Hunter took the money from his savings account and went to school out of state. He majored in music, minored in business, and cut off all ties from his father. It wasn’t that hard for him; he wanted nothing more than to be rid of his horrible past. So he moved far away from Denver, all the way to Rhode Island, moving from apartment building to apartment building until he found a suitable place in Whatever to start his own life.
Kingsland Records was born out of his music major, where he’d start collecting records and old CD’s to use for projects only to keep them in storage. When his collection was big enough he decided to open up a small shop, where others could purchase them or trade in for things they were really wanting. It’s nothing big; something enough to put food on his table, but it’s the one thing in life that’s truly his and that he doesn’t fear that his father will eventually take away from him.

full name: levi seth puckerman. face claim: gregg sulkin. gender + pronouns: cismale, he/him. orientation: homosexual, homoromantic. hometown: queens, ny. united states. occupation: barista. employer: little taste of glee. birthday + zodiac: november 1st, scorpio.
HEADCANONS.
Levi has never allowed the Puckerman surname to define him. Growing up poor in Queens with a deadbeat for a dad only pushed him to succeed. While his older brother numbed himself with drugs and alcohol and found protection in his gang, Levi found the same playing football and hanging out with the popular kids. A Letterman jacket meant guaranteed social status and protection in the halls. Not to mention, he had a knack for the sport; after all, it was in his blood. His skill secured him a spot as a first string running back and his popularity earned him the title of Prom King. With his involvement in school and above average grades, he didn’t seem like a Puckerman offspring at all. His good looks, overactive libido, and undying loyalty to those he cares about are the truest testaments to his sharing the Puckerman genes.
He worked odd jobs throughout high school to provide for Sarah when Puck couldn’t. When his older brother landed himself in juvie he carried a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. There were times he thought about running away from it all with his friends and leaving his family behind. But selfishness isn’t one of his traits and blood is thicker than water. Putting any plans for college on the back burner and sticking by Puck’s side as he headed for Whatever, Rhode Island was a no brainer decision. As far as Levi’s concerned, family should stick together.
Levi knows he’s everyone’s type. Ever since puberty, he’s turned heads. Levi likes attention any way he can get it. He’ll flirt with anyone, and he’s pretty good at it too, but only guys actually do it for him. Because of his alpha male bravado, there have been questions of if he’s really gay. His own family thinks he’s lying about his sexuality to see his girlfriends naked since they feel comfortable changing around him. Until he gets an actual boyfriend he doubts anyone will truly believe him.
Levi’s interests include hitting the gym, posting thirst traps on Instagram, and baking. It’s a secret few people know about, but it’s his dream to someday own a bakery, preferably with his own line of cannabis-induced edibles.
He loves getting baked and satisfying his munchies at Tony’s Pizzeria. He’s always down for a good time on the weekend and never turns down a rager. He’s the reigning record holder in the Sylvester Suites for the longest keg stand and there’s no chance of anyone usurping his throne.

full name: abra oriana notaro. face claim: gemma arterton. gender + pronouns: cisfemale, she/her. orientation: bisexual, biromantic. hometown: philadelphia, pa. united states. occupation: blogger + veterinary technician. employer: for pet’s sake animal hospital. birthday + zodiac: february 3rd, aquarius.
HEADCANONS.
Abra was born in Philadelphia, the youngest of four siblings. Her father was a cop, and her mother an English teacher. Her father was killed in the line of duty when she was very young, and it still surprises her sometimes, the ways in which that incident will creep into her thoughts and feelings. She initially had very little reaction to it because of her age. Her brother was eight, and it made him want to be a police officer to honor his memory, but she had only been three. She has very little memory of her father now, and she wishes she’d had more time to get to know him.
Her family is incredibly tight knit. Her house included her mother, two sisters, brother, Nonna and her, and most of her memories of growing up are happy ones. She’s incredibly proud of her siblings. Her oldest sister is a documentary filmmaker, the most serious member of her family. Her other sister is an artist, and Abra looks up to her for her creativity. She likes to say that there are no black sheep in the Notaro clan, and she believes that’s completely true. Her mother made them feel accepted and loved, and they all accepted each other because of it.
She began writing a positivity blog as a teenager. She’d had friends who weren’t quite as sunny as her personality made her most of the time, and she’d wanted to provide a resource for people who felt similarly. That resource proved useful to her as she entered her twenties and was hit with a bout of depression she wasn’t at all prepared for. It might have been triggered by a relationship that went sour, by the death of her Nonna or because her siblings moved away from home. It might’ve have been because she didn’t quite know what she wanted to do with her life, who she wanted to be. Whatever the trigger was, she started going to therapy while living with her brother, and she focused on writing the blog every day.
She now works as a veterinary technician, a job that allows her to support herself so that she can continue to write her blog. And her written blog has become a vlog too. She posts regular videos that chronicle her life. Recent subjects include her move to Whatever, a place she chose at random on a map of New England. She wanted an adventure, something to break her out of a rut she felt she’d fallen into in Philadelphia. Her siblings were seeing the world, having adventures, doing their own things, and she wanted a chance to maybe do the same.
Abra hasn’t dated much, and those she’s a romantic at heart, she’s honestly scared to try having a relationship with anyone. She’s not entirely sure where that fear comes from, but it feels very real any time she’s asked out or has feelings for someone. She’s not a huge fan of one night stands either, so she tends to avoid sexual and romantic situations despite her desire to have both.

full name: sophia elizabeth dameron. face claim: alexandra daddario. gender + pronouns: cisfemale, she/her. orientation: bicurious + heteroromantic. hometown: oakland, ca. united states. occupation: student + research associate. employer: warren alpert medical school, brown uni. birthday + zodiac: october 3rd, libra.
HEADCANONS.
Sophia knew from a young age that her family wasn’t like everyone else’s. When she went to sleepovers at her friends’ houses, she’d always take note of how their parents acted. They were kind, and loving, and supportive, and their children meant more than anything in the world to them. Sophia didn’t have that. Her mother didn’t pay attention to their children; really, she left them to fend for themselves most of the time. As a young child, Sophia didn’t know what it meant to have a mother’s love, something that every child yearned for and kept precious to their heart. But she did have love from somewhere else. Whenever she would fall and scrape her knee, her brother was there to patch her up. When she woke up crying from a nightmare, her brother was the one who held her until she felt safe again. When she aced a test and came home with a prideful smile, her brother was the one who celebrated with her. Her family wasn’t normal, because she couldn’t depend on her mother – but she could always depend on her brother. He was her rock, her best friend, the most precious person in the world to her. He took care of her when no one else could, or would. At such a tender age, Sophia learned that he was the one person in the world she could always depend on without a doubt, even if it seemed everyone else had turned away.
When child services had taken Sophia and Asher away from their mother, Sophia really didn’t mind that much. As far as she was concerned, she never really had a mother in the first place. All she cared about was that she was with her brother. As long as she had him around, she had a home, because home wasn’t about the physical sense of the word or a building – it was about finding comfort and safety with someone else. Of course, having a permanent roof over their heads was also welcomed when they were adopted. Sophia was wary of Kathy and Margaret at first, understandably so, and shied away from them for a short while. However, just having been six years old when she was taken away from her biological mother, she warmed up to her new mothers quite quickly. She finally found what all her friends had and that she had never experienced. She even had two! Her young mind thought she won the jackpot, and to this day she knows no greater love than the love that her mothers and her brother have for her. The two women were supportive, and kind, and everything that Sophia had dreamed of previously. She was also happy that they wanted the two children and that they wanted to care for them. Maybe Asher could finally be a kid and not have to be the grown-up all the time. Maybe he could stop being responsible and finally just have fun. Some of Sophia’s favorite memories are of her with her mothers and her brother, all smiles and all happy. Kathy and Margaret brought peace to Sophia’s life that she never knew she was missing.
High school was a whirlwind for Sophia. As soon as she hit puberty, it was like her whole social circle changed. Suddenly popular girls that she could only dream of being friends with were talking to her, and cute boys that she had crushes on were actually paying attention to her. As soon as freshman year hit, she went to cheer tryouts and made it on the team. It was the start of one of those cliche, perfect high school lives. Sophia joined all the clubs she could, ran for student government positions every single year, was on the cheer squad, had great grades, and had a great group of friends. But unlike some of the girls in her school, she wasn’t popular because people were afraid of her – people flocked to her because she was kind. No matter if it was someone on the football team or someone on the chess team, she made time for everyone and always had a smile and a hug when someone needed it. She started an anti-bullying club in high school, and became the class president her senior year. Because of her grades, her extracurricular activities, and excelling in cheerleading, she was able to land herself a cheer scholarship and go to school for free. High school was some of the best years of her life, but she was ready to fly the coop and do something else productive with her time. It didn’t take her long to figure out what she wanted to major in – biochemistry with a focus in pre-med. She wanted to be a doctor.
College wasn’t as great as high school, it seemed. Being a cheerleader was great, but once the Greeks on campus started their rush week, Sophia was pressured by one of her friends to join a sorority with her. Sophia agreed, and while she loved the sisterhood that came with her new Greek life, she just didn’t find some of the things they did all that important. They partied all the time, they slept around with boys (even though they all swore they were sweet, innocent angels), and while they attempted to put on the guise of philanthropy, they were rather rude to some of the other sororities and non-Greeks. Sophia was under a lot of peer pressure, and suddenly she wasn’t the nice girl that she used to be. She’d get drunk all the time, would play mean pranks on people around campus, and even started dating a fraternity brother – Gregory – that was known around campus for being kind of an asshole. To this day, Sophia doesn’t know why she acted that way – maybe because she had such a great group of friends in high school, and she didn’t want to feel left out or excluded. They were definitely her darker days, and quite a few of them ended with her in a jail cell for a night, whether from public intoxication or from doing something stupid on campus like vandalizing a building or stealing a human brain from the science lab. To top it all off, Gregory apparently couldn’t be seen without Sophia by his side. He started monitoring her schedule, made sure they were always at parties together, and even started getting angry when she’d choose to spend time with her brother over him. Finally, one day the fighting became so intense that he backed her into a corner, hand grasping her arm so tightly it left a bruise, and slapped her. It seemed to be the wake up call that she needed. Sophia immediately called the cops on Gregory, pressed charges, and dropped out of the sorority. She was supposed to have a future, and they were ruining it for her. She didn’t have many friends after that – but she always had her brother and her mothers. With them by her side, she knew that she could turn her college years around and actually achieve her dreams.
The moment that Sophia found out that her brother wanted to move, she was right on top of it. She hated the idea of leaving her mothers, but she just couldn’t see her life without her brother around. Maybe she was too dependent on him, but if there was one person in the world she would go down fighting for, it was Asher. So she applied to Brown University so that she could partake in their medical school, was accepted, and took out student loans to offset the fact that she would no longer be going to school for free. It was quite a change, but a good one – college just didn’t feel the same anymore, and surrounding herself with new people was exactly what she needed. She’s now about to start her final year of medical school, and she couldn’t be more excited. She wants to be a pediatrician and set up a clinic where any child can come in if they need a doctor – whether if they could pay or not. After what her biological mother had put her and her brother through, she doesn’t think any child deserves to be left behind. Between school days she volunteers at a local orphanage, wanting children to have a bright spot in their day. Playing games, coloring, or just being the arms when a child needs to be held. She still goes out and parties a couple times a month, needing to blow off steam sometimes, but for the most part she’s very goal oriented still. And one day, she’s determined to make the world a better place by being the supportive rock in a child’s life that otherwise doesn’t really have one. She knows what that was like, knows what it did to her brother, and she couldn’t imagine letting a child slip through the cracks because their parents didn’t love them. She knows it’s unrealistic to care for all the children the way they need to be, and knows she can’t make their lives all the way better – but she can still be that shining star and that helping hand that guides them towards the lives they were meant to have.

HEADCANONS.
All Asher ever could rely on when he was younger was himself. His mother was far from being the role model that he and his sister wanted to mold themselves after, so it had to be up to him to step up and care for the both of them to the best of his abilities – and for someone as small and young as he was, it wasn’t as if he had very many to begin with. Any food he could scrap together, he split between the both of them, always choosing to give his sister a bit more on her plate. He would gather all the spare change he found in between couch cushions in order to afford whatever the local Goodwill had to offer to simply have clothes on their back. With his cheeks gaunt, his clothes ratty, he was far from being the popular one in elementary school, often being picked on by others around him. In fact, Asher had been knocked into the sandpit more times than he could count on both hands.
There came a point where it became abundantly obvious that there was something wrong in their home, leading to a tip to child services to be placed. When the social worker arrived, she was horrified by the circumstances the children found themselves in and immediately took them out of their mother’s care. With no close relatives to take them in, especially since their grandparents had long disowned their mother before the two were even conceived, they were placed in a foster home together. Asher was no more than eight-years-old, his sister not that much younger, and he was terrified, unsure of what was going to come next. All he knew was that he’d protect his sister with his life, and all hell would break loose if anyone tried to separate them.
Within the same year he was taken from his mother’s home, he and his sister had become wards of the state, being placed into the foster system until they were either adopted or aged out of the system – and to their sheer luck, it was within that very year that they had gotten onto the radar of Kathy Dameron, an esteemed family lawyer in the Oakland area. She had no children of her own, and then all at once, her home was theirs, where she raised them alongside her partner of fifteen years (and counting), Margaret. It was a difficult adjustment, especially for the oldest of the two, who hardly even spoke in front of them, but his mothers were patient. To this day, Asher can’t thank them enough for what they had done for him – they saved his life.
Middle school was when Asher first noticed he liked his best friend just a tad more than he liked him, but it wasn’t until high school when he fully came to grips with the genuine attraction he felt towards men. It had never really fazed him, though – there was no moment where he had wondered if there was something wrong with him. He was raised in a family that marched in Pride parades every year, lived in a home where love had no discrimination against sex, color, religion, and everything else in between. He was lucky, he knew. Not many others had the chance to say the same. In college, he met the boy who would leave him breathless with only a mere smile. They fell quickly, the way most kids do – or at least Asher did. It was only in the months leading up to their graduation that he found out his boyfriend had been sleeping around behind his back, and he broke things off with him without batting an eye. Despite being heartbroken and disillusioned, Asher still knew he deserved better than a man who promised him the world and then couldn’t deliver.
From the start, Asher had always had his eyes on living somewhere on the east coast. And even though it was difficult to leave his mothers’ home on the west coast, he knew he’d have to eventually spread his wings and see more of what was out there. He knows he isn’t settling down his roots anytime soon while living in the Sylvester Suites, but he has high hopes that soon he will find the right place to call home and the right person to share it with.

SYLVESTER CHALLENGE #001 → TINDER PROFILES.
LONELY, I’M SO LONELY...
for our first ever challenge, we’re hoping to get our creative juices flowing with tinder interactions! by liking this post, you’ll choose to ACTIVELY participate and submit FIVE, NON-SHITTY PICS and a SMALL tinder bio for every account(s) you like from.
a few, extra notes: 1) we aren’t asking for anything of great length; just what you think your character would use to get laid. 2) the pictures should NOT be professional photos, unless you can think of a good reason they would have one — for ex, britty may have an actual headshot because she was trying to be a professional dancer. 3) faceless photos, photos of places, things, etc. etc. could all work, as long as they look believable.
MOST IMPORTANTLY! the photos need to be at LEAST 500px by 500px and should be of good quality, unless you want your graphic to look like complete shit! HERE is an unfinished example of what the cards will look like. once you like and submit, we’ll fix yours up extra, extra nice nice for you, and send them back, so you can get your asses laid.
