“It’s been good,” Verity replied with a smile. “Annoying coworkers aside, how has yours been?”
“My day’s have been a bit busy and long,” she said, shrugging. “But at least it’s with work I really enjoy, right?”

Sylvie scoffed, “Honestly, that’s just rude,” she mumbled to herself, scrolling slowly on her phone.
“What is it?” Verity asked curiously as Sylvie looked at her phone.
Sylvie scoffed. “Just an annoying coworker.” She put her phone down on its face. “How has your day been, dear Verity?”

restless-tedtonks:
Ted frowns as he stares at the liquid swirling around in his glass, letting out a frustrated groan as he finally places his head against the cool kitchen table.
‘‘I don’t get it. Seriously, aren’t these things supposed to pass?’‘ He questions, unsure if he even expects an answer. Ted had to admit the little ‘crush’, if one could even call his affections towards the woman that at this point, on Andromeda Black was getting old.
Not in the sense that he disliked her, quite the opposite. Ted was just frustrated at being unable to speak his mind and feeling like some liar that was taking advantage of his friendship with Andy. ‘’I feel like some 15 year old boy, this is dreadful.’’ He allows his eyes to wander outside, he feels absolutely miserable. Ted used to be in denial, especially when he first realized it - but it was no real use to pretend the obvious wasn’t happening. Ted just had to fill in the nasty trope of fancying one of his best friends and doing so since age 15 or so. Or was it 16? ‘’Do you think I’ll get over it if I just hit my head against a wall hard enough?’’
Sylvie knew the face of the man sitting next to her at the bar counter, but could not figure out his name at that moment. And if she had never met him, this would be an excellent opportunity to make another connection. She put her pencil down in the middle of her tiny open notebook and closed it. The bartender was tending the couple of other customers along the perimeter of the bar.
“Are you all right?” Sylvie asked. “I’m sure whatever you’re going through will soon pass.” She studied his body language while awaiting a response. “And please, whatever you do, don’t bang your head against a wall.”

This is going to be much harder than I had anticipated – and I was already prepared to move mountains.

Amelia looked up from her own phone, amused. “What’s going on there?”
“Just another intern at the Prophet calling out sick,” she put her phone down. “I don’t remember being this irresponsible when I started. But please, distract me and tell me how your day is going.”

“It’s just business, love,” he shrugged.
Sylvie leaned back slightly and with a shrug and smirk said playfully: “Surely our ideas of business aren’t quite the same. Unless you suddenly have an eye for the media?”

“Yes, well, he’s always been a dick.”
“And what’s his excuse? Being apathetic isn’t a cute personality trait,” she said, looking up.

“You know, you don’t have to just stand there and stare. You can also try and help.”
“Oh! Of course,” Sylvie said, meeting Emmeline’s level. “How did this come about?”
