     he dares to meet kei's gaze — before it turns elsewhere — and is pleased to discover that kei isn't acting. it's always hard to tell. even if he didn't mean it, kaito would fall for it. the compliment brings a pleased smile to his face. maybe he can really embarrass him. just this once.
