My favorite thing to do to help me process things that happened to me as a kid is to pull up photos of myself at the age of when things happened and imagine telling the person in the photo the things that were said to me / what I thought about myself.

I wouldn't tell a 3rd grader the things I was told. I wouldn't tell an 8th grader what I was told. I wouldn't tell anyone what I was told.

I also couldn't look in the eyes of 15 year old me and say "you're a terrible person"

I also wouldn't look at any of my friends and tell them they're terrible people either

So why should I tell myself that? And why was it okay to tell little me that?
