The Sun

I have found the Sun to burn in two places. In the sky, and in my heart.

As it drags itself over the tops of all the mountains, I continue to aid all those I can, in hopes of leaving no souls lost, nor left behind.

"Not every source will always follow" I remind myself, But quietly, I wonder if that's the truth..? Or a cowardice within me.

The rays burn arduously over my ears, as I catechize the star's power. Every day, I feel it's strength, do I not? Then should I not believe that this same strength resides in me as well?

Many cling to my ankles. They seek my guidance, and ask from me courage. The courage to lay forth to them those paths that they alone could not choose, nor walk themselves. But am I worthy enough?

The heat grows unbearable as it radiates from my chest. At times, I feel trapped within my own body, My soul set too intensely aflame.

If anyone can do it, it will always be me. Divinely, I rise and take responsibility for my people; To deliver them all to those tempered sands.

If anyone can take them, it will always be me. All twelve hours, I'll pour to them. Then retreat to collapse, blanketed again in darkness.

By virtue the sun will always shine, even when you cannot see it. My passion burns it's brightest in the trust of the night, and whence you close your eyes and graze your neck, you may feel me, as if I've never left.

Set inspired by one of my favorite movies, The Incredibly True Adventure Of Two Girls In Love! This scene (and really a lot of it) gave off such Taviville vibes and I've been wanting to recreate this part since I saw it! If you haven't seen it yet you can watch it on the Internet Archive for free! I highly recommend viewing it as it's an important part of LGBT film history imo.
