the kaito files came out, so I finally played judgment. and can I say, I am (obviously) simping for Kaito but higashi I was surprised by. Damn near immediately I was like: oh no hes best boy i love him.

how are you like one of 3 people who writes for higashi? how is he not more popular???

BUT YES HIGASHI GOOD. I cannot believe how much character they packed into his appearances throughout the first game. And Lost Judgment gives us a little more insight to how much of a dweeb he actually is, I adore him so much. 🥺 Best boi will do anything for his aniki. I do think his popularity has definitely increased over time, since thanks to LaD/Y7, the series has defs gained traction overall—I definitely noticed a major increase in activity on my general Higashi gifs/posts—but the fact not many are writing for him eludes me as well.

Ok, so if someone didn't play LJ yet and doesn't want any minor spoilers concerning characters that appear in the game it's better to skip this one. Anyway, after the boys meet with Kuwana in the chinese restaurant we see OUR BOY! And the fun thing is that when you return to the restaurant, you can see that it's name is YouTian Chinese Restaurant (佑天飯店). You Tian is written with the same kanjis that make Zhao's name, just in reverse (his name i TianYou (天佑) )! Does that mean it's his new restaurant? I guess we have to wait for Y8 to find out!

Oh my god our boy did it?? Our boy finally gets to pursue his dreams?? 😭😭 That's so adorable omfg, I'm so happy for him. Just wanted to say I really like your Judgment fics. Especially the “The Art of War” one you did. Do you think the reader could last the 19 hours with Higashi or did they tap out? Not requesting, just was curious to hear what you think.

I like to think reader eventually had to tap out, but Higashi is a man of his word, and come hell or high water, he was going to feast on them down to the last minute. A victory as decisive as that one doesn't come often for him because I like to HC him as a little bit subby out of preference for a place he can just unwind and relax so to speak? So he has to take what he can get from reader when she let's him have it. 👁️👁️

Sync-senpai, I know your love for Higashi is really strong. I was wondering if you are into the Final Fantasy franchise, Final Fantasy XV to be specific. One of the main characters of the game is called Ignis and if you check him out, you'll see he and Higashi could almost be twins (I especially mean Ignis with his hair up, when his hair is down the resemblance isn't that striking)!

But YEAH. I HAVEN'T ACTUALLY PLAYED FFXV (though a friend lent the game to me, it's that getting into a new game/fandom is feels like a big commitment these days 😔), but I definitely know about Ignis 👀 he's defs a CUTIE and defs has a really similar aesthetic. I just don't know much about him other than really surface level knowledge I pick up through the odd gif set now and then.

Honestly the whole ffxv squad is cute as heck especially... Gladios? The one with the tattoos. 👀👀 That's the man I keep eyeballing whenever I see them on my dash.

okay lmao im gonna live and die on the yakuza 7 is great hill and the combat doesn't spoil the game whatsoever, like, maybe im biased bc i enjoy a lot of turnbased combat, but yakuza 7 had something that other yakuza games dont have which is difficulty spikes which sounds weird to praise it for but in the beat em up yakuza games there is literally no reason to fight the random thugs around town they are just an annoyance. the game doesn't require u to grind at all and most of the mid to late game is easy once you've got a bunch of skills (i guess this is a little better in ykz 4 and 5 with the multiple protags having u set back in difficulty every few hours but its still not a perfect system). like u can bullshit your way through fights once ichiban gets the orbital laser, but i still found a lot of the mid to late game fights hard in yakuza 7 which isnt something i can say for the other games. not to mention yakuza 7 to implement turnbased gameplay into a realistic setting while also keeping some fun goofy elements, and made it so you have to be aware of the environment your in, and with the perfect guard system you have to pay attention to the enemies actions as well.... in addition to all this IT HAD A GREAT STORY.... ONE OF THE BEST..... WITH GREAT CHARACTERS.... im not saying everyone has to like the change in combat but i am sick of people saying its objectively bad or worse bc its not. yes its different but its not worse.
