The issue is I've had Motley for so long, I'm so familiar with it, it doesn't feel unique to me anymore. Which makes it really hard for me to be able to discern what to include and what to cut. That, combined with my perfectionism and admittedly small vocabulary makes it feel like writing a chapter is just this insurmountable task, because I can always tell its not the best thing I've ever made. Which is a crazy thing to strive for anyways lmao

Motley is never gonna be perfect, but I didn't really create it with the intention of it so grand and amazing it could move mountains and end regimes. I just made it to be about what I, me, myself, enjoy (simple art styles, cute outfits, found family). I think my expectations ballooned way past what would actually suit the story it's trying to tell.

Maybe I'll passively work on a chapter 5 over the next few weeks.

LOL Bro I'm so happy the concept art roped you in!!! Im hard at work on it, so it should start being published relatively soon.

The comic itself is coming along Pretty Nice. It's a comedy/romance about a farmer and her new alien GF who whisks her away to crazy alien parties. It's gonna be a little mini story (I'm talking like 30 chapters max), but they're some of my fav characters I've ever made. They're so funny. I can't post about my favorite bits because they're spoilers, but I hope the comic lives up to your hopes and dreams!!!!!!!

I've been working exclusively on Motley and no other personal project for like 2 years now, and I think I've finally hit a wall. Which I don't love, because I sure am ready to see it as a pilot!!! But I've had so many ideas for it at this point that I've ended up with a bunch of crossed wires that I can't seem to untangle.

I'm gonna let it rest for a little bit and try to work on a smaller project. Maybe that's the sort of palette cleanser I need to get the gears turning again.

Yes sir. Patterns like polkadots, plaid, etc. are fair game. Grape Soda also has a plaid skirt!

I've been thinking a lot (a lot) about @syrupyyyart's Motley so I cracked and made an oc (even tho I probably didn't do the assignment right and im sorry for that) She's named after an confection very popular in Latin America. As for her personality, she's a lax but chill girl who prefers doing things at her own pace (even tho it backfires for her most of the time). This Motley Pilot (its not an ep1, it's a Pilot) is gonna be so fucking killer. It's all falling into place for real.

Now I'm at the stage where I'm debating whether or not it should have songs. Lol
