HE CANNOT AFFORD  another mistake like the one she has to forget  &  forgive. yes, he knows of that dark spot. he knows there’s a dark side to it as the  SUN  cannot reach the dark side of the  MOON  no matter what it does. it’s their nature. if this happened in the past, he’d be running from responsibility but he’s changed so  MUCH  over the years he spent while she existed in his life. this is not about being responsible for another life. it’s his damn dad.

     He has a point, mentions of time spent away, far away, and an undeniable DUTY to the well-being of the galaxy that must come first —————— sea glass falls to the empty space between them, ashen seeped hands settling upon the spot where she knows her child ———— their child, will soon grow. What if something happens? With how selflessly he THROWS himself into the storm for the sake of others, it is not an improbability. What if he misses their arrival? What if he never sees them?

     To speak such an admittance out loud is FREEING, in some strange way that alleviates the fears and doubts that had plagued her since she had gotten the news. But what of him? Was this the shackle, the final turn of the key that LOCKED him in?

     Had she become the gilded cage?

     His voice raises, the sun flares, yet she posses a sudden calm that the woman cannot tell for sure if FAUX or SINCERE. Is she still terrified, uncertain, l o s t in the woods? Certainly. Will that deter her, overcome her? Will she let it? Already mental lists are being formed, PLANS put into order and organized, one after another, over and over and over.

     Too fast, too much, too far ahead. Lips quickly squeezed shut, silenced, and body leans against him, a WIFE just needing her HUSBAND.
