Thank you to everyone who's sent quirks throughout the years!

I'm sorry to say that I just do not have the energy to run this blog. I have so many other things happening in my life, and this blog stirs up negative feelings regarding syscourse due to harassment I faced for setting it up. I just don't want to combat those feelings any longer. I want to move on.

Thank you so much for those who stuck with me through it, and for sharing those things that we thought made us unique; it was always so interesting to see how other systems worked, and especially to find solace in the fact that maybe we weren't so different after all.

traumagenic + spiritual system quirk!

we experience spiritual possession as a switch in some way. when we feel/felt a possession, we other/non-spirit/non-deity alters were co-con with the spirit/deity, shared memories with them, and in that moment it felt like true peace and calm washed over us. we're not channelers/medium and don't willingly experience possessions, but so far all our experiences of possession were peaceful and helpful to us. I just think it's neat

We're quoigenic - Our biggest quirk is that We have no idea what's going on

like - i (arc, they/she, gatekeeper) usually say that i'm an ink sans fictive, but not really? the best way i can explain it is that i'm probably an introject of the idea of ink sans but like, except for a few traits im not like him but its hard to explain so i just say im a very source separated ink sans fictive

Our host is a whole mess too, like We think he's the one who's been around the longest? but it might also be a fictive of both aether from genshin and killer sans?? but he's definitely been around for longer than these two have existed in the world?? what is Up with That

there's also "only" 3 alters that arent obvious fictives/introjects but We're not sure if the OCs they look a lot like were based on them or if they actually are introject of those OCs.

anyway nothing makes sense in Our system and i love it here i wouldnt trade it for anything

We're a paro-spontaneous system. We can canonize and decanonize headspace events. Sometimes, the headspace does these things for us.

One weird system thing is that a lot of our alters split muted but gain a voice later.

Except for a few.

The blob littles just squeak and make hand gestures, occasionally using text.

Then there's... I don't remember their name, but they're a snow wolf anthro. They are almost entirely mute within headspace. They've used text before. Occasionally they use a voice but they will smite us down if we acknowledge it lol

our system is almost entirely nonhumans, mostly some form of canine. even our few "human" packmates arent entirely human, mostly otherkin/therian or has some kind of nonhuman features. but i know if we let anyone know who we are, we will get fakeclaimed relentlessly.

System quirk update

Host here. Still a persecutor. In an on/off relationship/friendship with a shitty protector/cohost (getting rid of "bad" coping > getting good coping for him). Have a couple other boyfriends around.

Our first non-OC introject is no longer a cohost but hangs out with us cohosts and hosts anyway in constant consciousness.

We have an unholy amount of introjects. Some from sources we don't even know much about. Two homestuck introjects and a possible third somewhere.

There's an in-system poly relationship between a splitroject and ex-caretaker, a contrarian, and a persecutor who is also a vampire and has homestuck eyes.

We also found out we may have multiple sidesystems and subsystems, but haven't gotten around to dealing with those.

Glad to see the relationship stuff is still going strong! Sounds like you might need to start mapping stuff out like we did 😜

And introjects galore! A problem we don’t have to deal with, thankfully, but not even a problem for some! I definitely wish you well on figuring out more about them, especially those whose sources you don’t really know much about. Were found for ourselves that some source knowledge is beneficial, but not needed.

A quirk of our system is that we have a subsystem made up entirely out of wolves. There's a whole bunch of wolf packs (at least 3) who are allowed to front and it's nuts (traumagenic system)

Moon moon!! (Sorry, is that rude?) But that’s really cool!! We don’t experience subsystems, and we don’t have any animal-based parts, but I know plenty of systems who do. You’re awesome for sharing, Anon! <3

I'm not endogenic and I'm disordered, but I have an experience that would be connected to spiritual systems, if I ended up identifying that way.

From when I was a teenager, I had many different experiences involving spirits and supernatural creatures. And I had many, many experiences that people would see as system experiences now. But at the time, when I had friends with DID, I never thought I could be a system at all, because I didn't have blackouts or get "possessed".

And it's funny, because I had what I called a "mindspace". And it would be my own astral realm that existed within my mind. Spirits hung out there, including a "imaginary friend"/"oc" who was me but a guy. But he wasn't a spirit, he just lived there in my mind. He went dormant after those spirits left and only came back recently, now that I know I am a system.

And I wonder if those spirits are considered alters or not, they've never returned and to me, they were other people. And my system is heavily influenced by those supernatural beliefs. Almost every single one of us is non-human. And gatekeepers have memories that don't connect to this life. My main gatekeeper is even cryptic and strange like those spirits I spoke to.

So. I wonder if spiritual systems are like me, just having the supernatural experience and never uncovering the disordered experience. Because now I know I'm disordered, I have DID. But I think about that as my system quirk. Just highly influenced by witchcraft and spirituality and affecting my perception, therefore affecting my system.

Goodness -- what an interesting story! I wish more DID systems felt comfortable discussing the intersection of their systemhood with their spirituality. I know my system has been impacted by it!

I hope you’re relieved to know that blackouts are not a common part of DID, and certainly possession isn’t. Maybe those walk-in spirits are alters! Who knows. It’s however you seek to define your system!

My system quirk is that we don't communicate through voices, but through inner thoughts and pictures. Like to portray one's feelings it's often through visuals, instead of explaining.

I've always thought it was weird because a large group of systems online "hear voices", when I do not. I see things.

Interesting!! As someone who thinks very visually, I’m honestly a bit surprised how verbal my innerworld is. We hear each other, as well as see each other, but I don’t think in the images for communication with my parts. I just think in images for everything else!! I’ve certainly met a few systems who communicate the same way you do, however. You’re not alone out there, Anon!

traumagenic system here! while our body isn't confirmed with any chronic physical illness (even tho we suspect we might have one) some of our headmates have persistent and constant pains when they front

one of such alters is missing an arm in the headspace, so when they front the body's arm is numb and it's hard to control it. in another case a headmate who is an introject suffered injuries to his legs in source, which translates into them having constant leg pains and trouble with walking while they front

That sounds so difficult! We don’t have any parts who usually deal with physical pain, beyond our nonhuman parts dealing with the absence of their limbs (tails, wings, extensions to their spines, etc). It’s odd that your body doesn’t have chronic illness, but your headmates present with it! We do have situations like that at times with traumatic pseudomemories influencing our parts, however. I wonder if anyone else relates to this?

System Quirk!

3/4ths of this system are nonhuman. as in literally animals, mostly canines. and even most of the humans identify as alterhuman. make of this what you will? -🐾

More nonhumans!! Lots of them popping up in these older asks I left to sit. I think people in system communities fail to realize just how common nonhuman alters are! We are certainly everywhere, and it makes perfect sense, given our lives! If you don’t mind:

TW DRUG MENT, TW WEED MENT

Traumagenic quirk - We have alters who are permanently high. Most are high on weed, but we have one alter who's always high on coke and one alter who... Idk, flip a coin and he's high on lean. And then there's the alter on a fictional hallucinogenic substance.

More of what's funky here:

-Our first weed alter can only front when we're stoned. The other weed alters are copies of this alter, but can front when we're sober. This alter is an honorary host because we medicate using THC and CBD for most of our issues (disclaimer: doesn't work for everybody, but it works for us). In-system, he actually has this whole calming aura that immediately defuses anxiety, panic and even some symptoms of depression! We don't know if this is one of the Big Official Alter Roles, but we call him an Emotional Regulator!

-Our coke alter is on coke because of Source Reasons. That's all I'll say. As far as we know, the body's never done coke though, so don't worry about that. (/gen)

-Our lean alter is just an exhausted fast food worker who does a lot of our menial stuff like chores and errand-running, especially when our chronic condition flareups are bad. Our best guess is that his weird concoction of Monster Energy and cough syrup just keeps him going, especially since he tends to call it 25 Hour Energy.

-Our fictional hallucinogenic substance alter deals a lot with our hallucinations, so I guess headspace parsed it as this poor guy constantly trippin. He's also the in-sys BFF of our emotional regulator.

Hey there Genesys! I can’t say I personally relate to this one… but is it bad to say it made me giggle when I first saw it? But the calming aura I can definitely relate to!! That’s something I can do as well, as an emotional regulator myself (I just do it through magic rather than weed). I’m so glad that your system has worked out coping methods for your situations -- even if they’re a bit quirky!! I hope things are still going well for you out there.

We have a quirky ass system (DID).

So, we have a splitroject who's boyfriends with a mothman fictive in-sys and they're very very in love. Our host, who's also a fictive and is in a relationship with another alter from his source in our system added a third, who's also a fictive but not from their same source. Then we have a pair of gal fictives who are in love, and also another one who are also gal fictives in love.

Also our host is an EP persecutor fictive. Somehow

And we have like... No purely human alive alters... We're all either nonhuman/not purely human, dead/undead, or both.

Gosh, I love system shenanigans! That sounds like a wild time. I love when people are open about their in-sys relationships (particularly those that are with nonhumans or fictives, as someone who is a nonhuman who is particularly interested in a fictive in-sys). While I don’t subscribe to EP/ANP labels, I’m happy to hear your EP persecutor fictive host has found alters he loves! And the part about the humans -- well, it sounds like you’d pair up well to the post I made a little bit about, with the deer alter! I love how unique and yet how similar every system can be.

Our system (traumagenic) is pretty unique. We're almost completely Introjects and nonhumans.

Our host is a fictive and a persecutor, even.

We have trauma related to source memories.

we frequently split fragments. We have an unknown alter count. We split easily and frequently, mainly during any strong emotion, even happiness, or we don't realize how we feel while our brain is panicking internally.

We have very. Strange. Triggers. And sometimes they trigger us and sometimes they don't. (A word, a color pallete, a color...)

We have a few other disorders.

And finally, we are very easily to fakeclaim yet somehow, we've only been fakeclaimed twice.

Your quirks are very similar to many systems I know!! I have a friend who has almost entirely introjected parts. We personally have trauma related to our source memories (which, for us, is directly related to the real life trauma we’ve faced). We don’t have fragments, ourselves, but I know many systems who split in the same way you’ve described; I’ve even heard one say they’ve split over stubbing their toe, to form a fragment who just handles stubbed toes. Triggers -- yeah, we relate heavily to that. We’ve got a name trigger that’s horribly triggering, and specific colors make specific parts get closer to the front!! We also have other disorders (as do many other systems, especially those who have comorbidities!). And, as for fakeclaiming -- I’m really happy for you, anon!! It’s never nice to be fakeclaimed, so I’m relieved it hasn’t happened much to you :)

System Quirks!

our system quirk is we collectively have a comfort song which is 'The new birthday song' from Ride The Cyclone

We love music. It’s such a meaningful part of our systemhood. We have a song that we fit fully to our plurality, but it’s started to mean a little less in recent years as we work through recovery. Maybe we’ll find a new one in time! For now, our song that we feel fits us and gives us some comfort is Hope of Morning by Icon for Hire. System Quirks!

My system's quirk is that I'm the only human out of the four of us. Artemis is an anthropomorphic deer, treeline is a sentient, articulate gold statue (or at least resembles one in a ton of ways), and Bentley is an old timey looking person with an eyeball for a head. I may or may not be a therian, though, but I'm not sure

Oh hey, more nonhumans! I’m a demonic alter myself, and we have a deer-like part as well -- though she is angelic in nature. We do have quite a number of human parts, but you’re completely valid. I wonder if you’ve discovered more about yourself since this ask -- in 2022!! Thank you for the long wait while I got my butt back in gear. :)
