Another update, trying to get back into writing and it is a battle. I don't know what my old self in 2023 was on when writing my 1st draft of my MD fic but I need that back.

I read 300+ page adult books throughout this year but I like how it took me reading a 200 page children's book about a swan playing a trumpet for me to get fanart and writing ideas lmao.

Hi it's me again. I finally figured out a new icon for myself that I actually like. Anytime I try to draw an icon for myself I hate it so much. Finally I figured it'd just take a screencap of probably my favorite V moment. Yeah it's non-canon but I love that scene a lot.

ALSO yes I have another project idea. I know myself at this point and I have very low expectations of seeing this thing finished to the end but I'm still gonna talk about it. So it's gonna be an animation meme PMV and it's be based around an AU I have to the MD pilot. It's also gonna be somewhat of a vent thing.

Trying a new process thing where I take the song, put it in iMovie, then cut up the song into parts then take notes on what will roughly happen in each scene. Then gonna rough sketch out scenes. I think this should be a better answer than trying to sketch out scenes first because I always end up getting more ideas while sketching then having to rearrange shit and it got so convoluted.

It's at this point that I finally realized a pattern here. Apparently my brain is not incentivized to do art unless I'm doing a Mon to Fri work schedule. That explains why I always drew during university and during my last job. Now that I'm unemployed and have way too much time, my brain doesn't feel pressured enough to escape by drawing lmao.

No Week 12 unfortunately. I got fired last Monday and this ruined my brain for the whole week. It's crazy how so much free time can overload you.

Week 11

I did a fun exercise with one of my friends where I got him to pick a random native bird and then describe it to me. Left bird is such.

Right bird is me guessing based on the left bird what bird it actually is and drawing it off memory.

Week 10

Something for my mom, the feather/flower eye motif came to me suddenly and I really liked how it turned out. Ran out of time to do anything interesting with the lower half of the bodies.

Also super funny but I was drawing a completely different duck thing but then it got overcomplicated and I scraped it very last minute and whipped this current thing up in like 3 hours.

Week 8

Nothing much really because right in the middle of me drawing for the week I got the call for a job interview and my mind lost all focus on getting this idea to fruition.... I'm coming back to this though.

Week 6

Saw a lot of grebes on my dash so decided to draw the only grebe species I've ever seen IRL during migration: the horned grebe.

Finally tried out overlaying a texture for the first time.

Week 5!

I actually feel proud of this one, probably because of all the different colors going on. I've learned at this point where to allocate what kinds of digital brushes to certain aspects of a piece. To my brain, watercolor works best for backgrounds, graphic pencil for coloring, and marker for lineart.

Over the years I’ve been lurking in the shadows and been too afraid to contribute to any fandom circles but I’m hoping to become more braver this time and actually use tags. I have a lot of old art archived on this blog so be warned. 

Currently I’m still trying to figure out what medium of art best works with my brain that I can produce content more frequently. I've done traditional for most of my life but I'm giving digital art a go.

Couldn't do too much except throw together a sketch this past week. Need to get better about going to bed on time so I can wake up earlier in the mornings and keep practicing.
