okay but this blog is still really empty so i’m not going to archive it, i’m just going to clean it up a little bit ... i’ve returned to my FF blogs in full swing so let’s see if i can play both vincent valentine ( sir ur hair ) and laguna  ( SIR UR HAIR ) ... this is gonna be fun.

Oh, so he was a complete and utter idiot? It all made sense now but didn’t slow the oncoming agitation.  

If he said ‘YEEHAW’, one more time ….     

Not that she had a DEEP love for YoRHa.    But 2B would never associate with anything that sounded THAT stupid.   

“YoR-Ha.”  she corrected through gritted teeth.     His eyes lingered on her for longer than necessary, causing her to wonder if maybe she SHOULD attack …   

“Another mandatory part of our uniform……. aside from male units. Are you finished gawking at me? Or will you ask why my hairs white next?”

          “   --  right,  yorha  ...  that’s what i said.  “  that’s totally what he said,  didn’t he?  absolutely,  why is she correcting him?  anyway  ...  there’s another hum before laguna takes another step back to look at her as a whole.  sheesh.  armed to the teeth and battle ready.  these yeehaw  --  er,  ah,  yorha  units sure are  ...  wait, units??

           “  male units?  ... female units  ...  no,  no!  it was just  ... i was wondering why you said unit and not something else.  hair color has nothing to do with it.  are the male units part of this yeeh  --  er,  i mean,  yorha thing,  too?  “

          “  well  ,  can you blame me?  i’ve been out of action for a long time.  “  alright,  so maybe running a whole ecosystem of people made him a little lazy.  or maybe he’s just getting way too old for this.  and what’s with the weird nickname?  sheesh,  kids these days.  “  alright,  alright  ...  i’m up.  “  and so laguna hops to his feet in no time,  dusting his khakis off before settling his hands on his own waist.  “  there you go,  mister commander.  what’s the next objective?  “

He leaned in closer and 2B’s fingers itched to take hold of her weapon.  She wasn’t one to lower her guard for anyone  –  but ..   since he didn’t seem like much of a threat —she remained STILL.   

“The visor is a mandatory part of YoRHa’s uniforms.  I won’t remove it” she assumed that was what he had hoped for by bringing it up  – most outsiders did.  

“Anything other than what I’m doing. –”

          “   Mandatory?  A blindfold is mandatory?  “   and what the heck is a yeehaw?  isn’t that just a thing people say when they’re excited?  it takes a second for him to imagine what kind of organization she’s from  --  or group?  and nothing substantial comes to mind  ...  instead,  laguna takes a step back out of her personal space to rub his chin thoughtfully.

          “  So, this Yeehaw uniform ... “    he takes another look at it  ... heels ... and a little thigh showing off .. in a little dress like that?  er  ...  alright, no more of that.  he almost immediately looks back up at her face, feeling that creeping pain in his leg for staring a little too long.  awkward  ...  “  Do they have to have heels?  Isn’t it hard to fight like that?  I - I mean,  not that I would know,  I don’t wear stilettos on a battlefield  --  “

     ——  out of love ?  weird thing to say. noctis isn’t sure what prompted it, but is willing to hear the guy out. after all, he sure looks like he could use some hearing out. part of him recognises that, perhaps, such a thing hits a little close to home … after all, his own father had sent him away, all the while  KNOWING  that the treaty was …  (  urk, c’mon … )  awkwardly scuffing his boots against the dirt, he lifts a hand to the back of his neck.

    “ you, uh … sure it was the right thing to do ? ”

   was it the right thing to do?  maybe not,  but it sure made everyone feel better knowing things that they ought to not so early in the game.  maybe it was the sense of dread and idea of tension that gave him the power to actually lie and look like he meant it.  typically, that’s not a thing that happens as he doesn’t have a single lying bone in him  ...  

          “  Well,  “  laguna almost tramples over his own words,  slamming hard on the personal story breaks.  “  I don’t really know,  y’know?  Is it a bad thing to lie?  Sure it is,  but sometimes you just gotta.  “  and gotta he did,  although not with malicious intent.  “  Just like telling your friend that he looks great after a big crying sesh,  yeah?  You’re not gonna tell the guy  --  or gal  --  that they look bad,  right?  “

General PSA: I’m totally fine with starting over! If we tried to write together once before and the thread fell flat or got dropped, I’m game to try again. Not all first interactions are going to be golden, and sometimes it takes a few tries for us to understand how our characters might merge together in writing. that response certainly wasn’t one he was expecting  --  well, no. that’s a lie, he was only half-expecting it from her. selphie was pretty good at letting her feelings go appropriately ... she was one of the few in their little group to actually find insightful ways to let things be known if she was unhappy or otherwise. their ragtag group of SeeD members had it really rough now that he’d thought of it ... especially squall it seems.

          “ I’m sure a lot of people would’ve felt that way, but you made it out in one piece. I think that’s what’s most important. “

although laguna’s not entirely sure if he’s the right person to be venting feelings out to ... it’s not as if he doesn’t care about their group  --  after all, they did help the entire world out when it was in a tight spot no thanks to his genius  .. “““ genius ””” ..  plan in asking a bunch of witch-combating teenagers to risk life and limb by hiring them into a corner in hopes that they all came back in one piece. especially one of them that he wanted to talk to almost immediately after the whole fiasco of praying they weren’t turned into a time pancake by the time they all came back.

all that aside, he sighs in wonderment of what selphie was thinking ... so many ideas and conclusions come up and none of them seem to stick aside from guessing if she was one of the few that were part of the faeries in his head ... or if she even knew anything about that. maybe it was from the funny powers ellone had that made him seem trustworthy enough to talk to.  granted, he wasn’t the strapping young lad he was before but he knows a thing or two about being a teenager and also emotional outbursts and feelings on a lot of things that involved concentrated emotion that could give anyone a headache.

          “ ... look, “  laguna starts to say before he digresses with a verbal, curt sigh as his shoulders drop considerably. it’s a lot harder to turn down a cute little face like that, especially when it feels like she looks up to him somehow. “ ... it’s okay to cry sometimes, Selphie.  Don’t feel so ... embarrassed about it. It’s fine.“

so not only is this clown a walking disaster but he’s also as vulgar as a seedy downtown bar. great, and he has to square off with this guy??  he’s had his fill of sorceresses and witches and overpowered battle ladies that he doesn’t need a joker-faced goof chortling it up in his face at the prospect of a good fight. in fact, he’s so not into it that he hasn’t even so much as bothered to put his handy dandy machine gun in his hands yet.

          “ Don’t you have anything better to do?? “  laguna quips back with a little grimace, it’s hard to even look at him. there’s so many colors and patterns ... it’s like a child picked his clothing and decided to also use every color in the crayon box. he’s even got massive feathers coming out of his head and that’s probably the worst part of it all. “ I’m not really looking for a beatdown nor do I feel like giving one. Can’t we call this a truce and find you better clothes to wear instead? “  a big shot at kefka’s ... wardrobe of choice.

definitely not overthinking it, totally not. absolutely not! why would he be? it’s not like he can’t stop staring at it and how absolutely gaudy it is. imagine having the worst fashion sense on the planet ... it’s so distracting .. and what’s with the face paint?! “ If you’re not interested in that, then I’m just gonna see myself out. “
