i feel like art made by amateurs has much more palpable passion in it - then that of well seasoned “masters”, who’s works can sometimes fall into a show of skill. whereas the amateurs is a show of their willingness to try, and keep trying. and it’s low-key beautiful man.
#and lack of passion is not a criticism#every work has a different goal and attempting to make a heirarchy to defend critics definitions of what true art is silly#but the works beginners make has this undeniable freshness that should be spoken about more#i think our desire to improve so rapidly can squash that#we trade an artistic vision for a show of skill#the hyperrealism pipeline#a style that absolutely has its merits#but can be very grim with not passion behind it#generally passions good#art#artists on tumblr#artist support#artwork
