[2:29 p.m] warm june breeze brushed through your skin softly as you kept your eyes closed. the sound of the birds chirping and flapping their wings as they rose into the air, the laughter of the happy children playing around somewhere in the enormous park, the babble of the river bank a few meters from where you sat seemed to mix all together to create the beautiful harmony of a relaxed afternoon. the bark of the tree you were leaning your back against stopped feeling uncomfortable a while ago, for you decided to lose yourself in the moment and let go of all the tiny little details. from an outsider’s point of view, you could be sleeping in the spot, if it wasn’t for your hand caressing the fluffy hair of the boy whose head laid on your lap. the curly hair tickled the skin of your thigh as the soft wind moved it minimally, but you paid no mind to it. you took a deep breath before opening your eyes and lowering your head to look at the boy.

his eyelashes laid against his cheeks. he looked peaceful, expressionless but still calming. it was such delightful sight: his lips pink as a spring cherry, eyes forming crescents, sunlight kissing his dazzling skin, hair covering his forehead pulled to the side a little by you. donghyuk was exquisite— breathtaking even without any effort put in. you couldn’t stop yourself from placing a hand along his jawline, the other still in his hair. the skin of his cheek was soft as always as your thumb drew small circles on it, you would have pinched it lightly if it wasn’t for the fact that he might be asleep. his mouth was parted, making him breathe through his pearly white teeth. you moved your thumb from his cheek to his lips. the color of them seemed even pinker under your finger. you sighed in content, moments like this spent with your boyfriend were ones to treasure for an eternity.

his lips puckering to plant a soft kiss on your thumb distracted you from admiring him. the little smooch he gave to the finger made you giggle. his lips grew into a sweet smile as he opened his eyes. “what are you doing?”

“nothing, just thinking about how handsome my boyfriend is,” you said as he took your hand in his hair and intertwined his fingers through yours. you looked at your hands. it was almost weird to you how perfectly your hand fits in his. how you always found comfort in his touch. in sleepless nights, in stressed evenings, in happy afternoons, and in lazy mornings; his touch was always there to make you feel content. you wiggled your fingers a bit, playfullness was something you both liked. he copied your action and drummed the tips of his fingers against the back of your hand. you smiled joyfully before bringing your hands up and planting a loving peck on the back of his. when you lowered the hands, his eyes were on you. your stomach did a few flips upon the look he was giving you. his eyes were always a mirror to his feelings, whatever he wanted to express would be as clear as the sky above you: cloudless and easy. and now, seeing the adoration and marvel in his eyes brought a color to your cheeks, one similar to the pink lips of his.
