We’re not sure if we’ve actually earned respect. But one thing for sure is that [people] feel like, O.K., this is not just some kind of a syndrome, a phenomenon. These little boys from Korea are doing this.

"What does the title 'BE' mean to you?"
Kim Namjoon: In Korea, when we learn English Grammar, the first thing we learn is the “be” verbs. It could be like “are, is, am,” so it means existence and potentials; it could be anything, to be present in the moment.

"What is something that has inspired you recently? So, it could be a book or a movie or a piece of music, but just something that has inspired you that our audience should check out as well."
Kim Namjoon: (in English) I recently watched The Good Place on Netflix and I just love how the program spreads the world of philosophy and the afterlife worlds; it really inspired me. And I'm recently getting inspired by art pieces like paintings and sculptures a lot, really. I think, however, there's no better source than the mother nature.
Kim Seokjin: Messages that fans wrote for me.
Min Yoongi: (in English) The Last Dance on Netflix.
Jung Hoseok: This moment right now is an inspiration. I think about my career and memories from the past when I rest. Those have become a source of inspiration that help me work on many songs.
Park Jimin: I think my relationships with people around me are my source of inspiration not only for work, but also life in general.
Kim Taehyung: I recently started a book. It's called "I am home but I still want to go home". It has a lot of comforting and relatable messages. I only read the cover though.
Jeon Jungkook: My goal is defined by my life and dreams. And in the process of achieving that goal, I find inspiration.

Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA) for Worldwide Icon of the Year 2020 acceptance speech
Kim Namjoon: Yo, I'm nervous. You can't see I'm nervous; I'm wearing a mask. ARMYs! Do you hear me?! First, I’d like to have a little shoutout to our worldwide handsome Jin, of course, for sure. And also, first, I’d like to shout out to our worldwide ARMYs all over the world, in your room, in your house. And I hope my truth and my mind could convey through this little paper thing (pointing at his mask). So, as we think of the world, worldwide, I wonder if the world is really wide. Of course, the world is wide, but in the territory of music and love, the world is not that wide, it’s really small actually. And, throughout this year, thanks to your love and support, we could feel your love like it’s right beside us and right in our mind, and we’re also connected. So, our worldwide ARMYs, you made this award, you gave this award to us, and I hope you could stay safe and we could meet in person, see each other’s eyes and you know, say we love you, we love you, to each other, asap. Thank you, we love you.

"What's something—a tip or a technique or a trick—that you apply to your music or your performance that you could give that maybe our students could apply to their own craft as they're learning?"
Kim Namjoon: (in English) For me it's important to try as many things as possible and learn from all those experiences, being closer to the real world. I think it's difficult to come up with various music without in-depth thoughts or real-life experiences.
Kim Seokjin: This isn't necessarily a tip, but I advise you not to take too seriously every comment on the internet. People can criticize for many reasons—maybe they're jealous, or have different tastes from yours. You'll lose what you want to do if you try to satisfy everyone else.
Min Yoongi: I think it's very important to create an environment where you can work wherever you are. I personally believe that the more you work, the better songs you can create. So always being prepared to work on music, whether that may be carrying around my equipment, is what has worked best for me.
Jung Hoseok: (in English) For me, you can't get perfect results at the first try, it's most likely that there will be good results if you keep persevering.
Park Jimin: Trying out different things is great, but I am more of a type who works on one thing for a longer period of time. And another thing is to not be afraid of asking questions. If you're curious about something, don't be shy and just ask.
Kim Taehyung: (in English) Continue to think and study, your spectrum will expand.
Jeon Jungkook: Singing and humming constantly regardless of a set time has helped me improve in my singing and find my personal color.

"Of all the things that you do in your line of work, what is the thing that you love the most? What is the thing that still gets you very excited to do this everyday?"
Kim Namjoon: For me it's the fact that people who see and listen to us and influence each other are with us. I love the most about how I got to love all these people.
Kim Seokjin: Being loved is the best aspect about my work. When will I ever be loved this much in my life?
Min Yoongi: Because I'm only human, there were times in my life when creating music was so painful, but as I kept persevering, it made me realize how much I love making music.
Jung Hoseok: For me, our fans' love and support and my love and support back to them through music, performance, social media and many more.
Park Jimin: The fact that I'm able to perform in front of the audience, have a team, and do music.
Kim Taehyung: Performing at concerts is my favorite part.
Jeon Jungkook: Our ARMY and performing—I can live happily if I have these two.

"What are the skills and the qualities and the traits that it takes to be successful in your business?"
Kim Namjoon: (in English) I think writing lyrics prepares you for any kind of opportunity, like reflecting upon every single thought or experience. It’s the biggest inspiration and motivation to me, so I always try to keep my world, like, closer to the real world; like I take a bus and go to wherever I want to be, like some towns far away, and I just walk away and try to feel the sunlight or look at people walking down the street. I think those help me really much.
Jung Hoseok: Mm-hmm.
Kim Seokjin: (in English) Just continue doing without thinking too much, then you’ll naturally become better at it.
Jung Hoseok: Woo-hoo. (beams at Seokjin)
Kim Seokjin: (shows Hoseok a thumbs-up)
Min Yoongi: This probably applies to any kind of work, but I think perseverance is essential.
Jung Hoseok: (in English) Simply love this work. I think loving what I do helps me to become more professional at it. (clicks his tongue) (gives a toothy smile with a thumbs-up)
Park Jimin: It’s our audience. I try to work harder because there are fans who appreciate our work. And also our members. They motivate me to do better.
Jung Hoseok: Mm-hmm.
Kim Taehyung: Eating delicious food lifts my mood.
Jung Hoseok: (in English) Good.
Jeon Jungkook: First and foremost, our fans. Thanks to them I can keep performing and doing music. That's what makes me happy, so naturally, it motivates me to work harder.
Jung Hoseok: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

"What is the best way you found to stay positive during quarantine?"
Jung Hoseok: Mm.
Kim Seokjin: (in English) Work hard.
Kim Taehyung: (in English) Quarantine.
Jung Hoseok: Mmm. For me it’s in the song “Fly To My Room” too, but when you think about things in a positive way, you change your mindset. Things work out and things feel more positive. That’s how I keep up my positive mind.
Kim Seokjin: j-hope~
Kim Taehyung: (in English) Positive … mind. (points at Hoseok)
Jung Hoseok: Mm-hmm.
Kim Namjoon: (in English) So you can’t change your disasters as all we could do is just, um, do what we could do, and change our mind.
Kim Taehyung: Yeah~

"We absolutely love the new music video for Life Goes On. Can you tell us about shooting the video and what the video means to you?"
Jung Hoseok, Kim Namjoon: JK.
Kim Taehyung: (in English) JK, let’s go.
Kim Seokjin: (speaks indistinctly)
Jeon Jungkook: So even with the COVID-19 situation, we’re able to shoot this music video, work on this together, and I think we’re able to show that we can still go on. We’re stars, but we’re also people too, so this was a way of trying to show that in this situation, let’s try to do what we can, life goes on, so let’s live on. That’s what it meant for us and that’s what we wanted to show.
Kim Taehyung: (claps)
Jung Hoseok: Yeah. (double thumbs up)
HITS 97.3: Love that! (claps)
Park Jimin: (in English) Love that!
BTS: (claps)
