Tekken 6 should've been called "Character Assassination: The Game" instead bc what the fuck happened. Not only did they have to murder Jin but they took Xiao as well in the process. Who else got the short end of the stick in that game?
I don't have the screencaps on me, but Xiao threatens to kill Kazuya because he won't get along with Jin and that's getting in the way of her "eloping" with him [Jin]. I think she even calls him "father" at first..... fucking weird. She also threatens Asuka (you know, CONFIRMED as Jin's cousin in this game, and Alisa even mistakes Asuka for Jin's SISTER) to "not get in the way" of her and Jin because she literally thinks Asuka is trying to "steal her man".
Altho Hwoarang's sexism was prevalent in the Street Fighter crossover, which is also bizarre. He wasn't really [as] sexist in Tek6. THERE were SOME lines... such as him getting mad at soldiers for ganging up on Zafina and Julia because they're a bunch of "brutes" against "a woman." Which I don't think the other characters had that. But Hwoarang was def more sexist in the SF crossover lmao
Other than that, iirc, Xiao and Jin are really the ones that suffered most. I recalled thinking Alisa was rather boring when compared to her other iterations. But... this was her first appearance, so you can't really say "character assassination" when it comes to that.
I will say a positive and I did enjoy DJ's characterization a lot in 6. Just because he was very entertaining in scenario campaign, and I also liked that 6 was one of the first to separate Jin and DJ as characters, rather than what Tek5 did by DJ saying "Oh I AM Jin but I just learned to control the powers teehee!" DJ in Tek5 claimed to be Jin when asked, DJ in Tek6 was openly offended when asked. Which I prefer the latter.
