Ordinarily, Mammon would be teasing James about his blush— but the mention of Lucifer makes him stiffen, and his eyes widen.
“What?! Whaddya mean, ya pissed him off?! What could ya have possibly done to make him do this to ya?”

Snorting as James basically has a fit in his arms, Mammon hoists him a bit further up in his grip. “Nah, I don’t think I’ll let ya go. An’ I don’t think you’ll kill me, either. I’ll hold ya here for as long as I feel like it.”

Mammon doesn’t question James moving his towel— he’s not the persistently nosy type, especially not when it comes to peoples’ bodies.
“I could help ya look for a shirt, if ya want.” He quips, but when the towel falls from James’ back, all hints of laughter are caught in his throat. Those scars... he knows only one thing they could be from.
“James...” The look on his face is one of pain, and it’s present in his voice, too.

Snickering, Mammon just shrugs his shoulders. “Like you’d be able t’do that. Y’really got a lotta confidence for someone so sh—!”
As soon as James starts tickling him, his words are cut off, and a very unmanly shriek leaves him. He backs into his room, arms covering his sides as his face turns bright red.
“What— what th’hell?! Don’t you even think about doin’ that again, y’jerk!”

Mammon hums softly to himself, walking around James in a circle.
“I dunno... kinda like seein’ ya from this angle, now that the tables are turned...”
He eventually stops in front of him, tilting his head to one side and crossing his arms over his chest. “What’s in it for me if I let ya down, hm?”

Unfortunately, Belphie won’t let him leave that easily.
“James! Why are you leaving? Don’t you wanna see Mammon’s little secret?”
Mammon stiffens, but none of them seem to realize that it’s because Belphie mentioned James— they all seem to assume that it’s because he’s hiding something and doesn’t want anyone else to see it.

“Ya shoulda told me ya had such a cute laugh! I woulda done this sooner!”

Mammon had been paying so much attention to acting like the pest he was that he didn’t even realize there was someone there.
Yelping and dropping the rest of the paper balls on the floor, he threw his hands in the air, his expression comical and his eyes wide behind his yellow shades.
After a moment, he quickly composed himself, brushing his jacket off with his hands before raising a brow at Maria. “None’a your business.”
He crossed his arms over his chest. “An’ who the hell are you? You ain’t one of Levi’s friends, are ya?”

That question, and the tone James says it in, is adorable. Mammon moves his arms from around James, stepping back and transforming into his demon form.
His smile, usually smug when he’s in this form, is gentle now. “Ya don’t even have to ask.” He holds out his arms to James.”

Ignoring James’ words, Mammon rests his arms above his head, grinning smugly.
He’s comfy here, he won’t be moving anytime soon.

Mammon seems rather confused when James asks if he’s pissed— at first he doesn’t realize he’s in his demon form, until his wings fold slightly against his back.
He snorts, shaking his head. “Nah, I don’t get pissed that often. An’ I never blow up or go into this form when I do. Ya’d know if I was pissed, believe me.”
He leans against his doorframe, tilting his head and crossing his arms over his chest. “Ya need somethin’? Figure that’s why ya’d be comin’ to my door.”

Unfortunately, as tears start falling down Mammon’s face— he was scared, okay?— Lucifer rounds the corner behind James. He’d heard James’ impression of him, and while he was impressed, he didn’t enjoy seeing his younger brother cry for nothing.
“... James?” He now has a new name to say in that scary tone of voice.

Mammon lifts his head to look at the sky, puzzled for a moment before he realizes what James is asking about.
“I dunno... sometimes I do, but... then I think about why we were thrown out in the first place, and then I don’t miss it anymore.”

He doesn’t realize that the looks on his brothers’ faces are looks of amusement until James taps him on the shoulder. And then James asks if he said he was weak, and his already-red face turns redder.
“Uhhhh...” He doesn’t know if he should lie, tell the truth, apologize, or try to explain himself.

Mammon raises a brow, a sly grin crossing his lips.
“Why didn’t ya come to me before now? Ya realize I’m the best at poker, right? And that I got a few tricks up my sleeve to keep me bein’ the best? Ya came to the right demon, James.”

Mammon is startled by James flopping on top of him, but he nuzzles his face into his hair, a soft rumble rising from his chest.
“Well, if we’d told ya there was cake, and ya came by and it was all gone, wouldn’t ya have been even more pissed about it than us not tellin’ ya in the first place?”
