Lenny cannot and does not want to hurt others. He hates this trait of his because the two strongest people he knows and looks up to (Billy and his father) use violence constantly, as a weapon to assert their dominance and get their voice across. Hurting himself, though? It comes easy and, sometimes, he thinks he actually craves the pain. So, he's very prone to toxic, violent relationships and people, in general. He is a gentle lover, a gentle friend, a gentle person to everyone else but not at all himself. Someone so weak doesn't deserve gentleness. He justifies getting hurt. You either sink or you swim, in this world. You have to be tough or accept the consequences of being weak.

I bruise really easily, so I'm going to project that over to Billy and Lenny. When they were children, they'd bruise a lot because of their parent's abuse – something their dad would deem a sign of weakness. Billy would come to consider it weakness as well, doing everything in his power to hide or prevent them when he left home. When he lived with his parents, he'd work tirelessly to hide Lenny's, but it never truly worked out.
Maeve, on the other hand, doesn't bruise easily at all. She can be in many brawls at a time and remain unbruised. She punches a lot, too, but her knuckles usually remain as normal. If you manage to bruise her, you've done tons of damage, if her knuckles are bruised, you're either very strong (probably a Supe) or she punched real hard.
Frenchie bruises normally, he's surprisingly one to avoid much physical conflict, preventing him from being bruised a lot in general.

Send 😞 For the sending muse to find the receiving muse in a state of sleep deprivation. (caleb @spectrophobias for lenny?💖)
Tumblr media
The least he wanted was for someone to find him. He had been strolling all over the outside of camp, as quietly as possible, until he found himself sitting over a nearby tree. His head was racing so much he barely felt he was taking a break, he barely felt like he was at camp -- the only place that felt like an actual solace. Leaning his head against the tree trunk, he took a deep sigh. Stop thinking... Maybe, he'd get tired there and finally fall asleep... or get maimed by a bear, one or the other.
And would it be that bad if it did happen? It was either that or having to go back home to face his worst nightmare.
Crunch, leaves and sticks are broken with steps that make the boy jolt and turn over. A sigh of relief comes as he notices it's another fellow human... Hadn't he mentioned it would be fine if he got hurt by a bear? Silly, he was even a coward in his head... It didn't matter now, he turned over to the Hackett boy, and a new kind of fear creeped up. Was he going to scold him for being out this late?
Tumblr media
"Uh... hey, sir! I was just-- I was..." He was always bad at making up excuses... "Looking out for bears. Are you out here for the same?"

Since Lenny is a special case, not really easy to approach, here are some alternate verses to help with possible plotting/interaction with him:
Verse 1: The Boys Alternate Universe where Lenny doesn't follow through with his suicide, instead withstanding the abuse of his father further until he can leave the house. It takes a while for him to gather the money, but eventually he makes it and moves out. It's been years since he's seen his brother, and he prefers things to stay that way. After all, he is still the same, cowering boy he has always been, and he refuses to disappoint his brother like he did his father.
Verse 2: Gen V Alternate Universe, where everything is as in Verse 1, with the exception that he moves out to Godolkin University as a sort of staff assistant, granted one of the dorms and allowed into only some of the classes provided there.
Verse 3: After ending his life, a fervent wish for his life to be spared makes him wake in another world. (Basically, the crossover verse.)
Verse 4: The Quarry Alternate Universe in which Lenny participates in the Hackett's Quarry Summer Camp every Summer in an attempt to take a breather from his father's constant abuse. He likes it there, he enjoys Hackett's Quarry. One Summer, during the last day of camp, he decides to hide both himself and his things somewhere around the camp, just to be able to stay there for as long as possible. To his surprise, the first night there won't be as peaceful and fun as he thought it'd be...
Verse 5: The Quarry Alternate Universe, but him being a counselor and basically encouraging Jacob to follow his brilliant idea of keeping the group together for just one more night. It wouldn't hurt anybody, and he'd have just one more day of happiness, right?
Verse 6: Dream-Sequence, Mental Palace verse in which a manifestation of Lenny communicates with your muse, for x or y reason. Might be a mixture of your muse's possible perspective of Lenny or other insecurities/related things, and/or the actual boy.
Of course, if you'd rather do something completely different, I'd be more than happy to discuss it! Otherwise, you can always take your pick from this and, if you'd like to tweak some things, we can most definitely plot further!

Beeg test muse: Leonard "Lenny" Butcher
Definitely out of my comfort zone with this one because he is mild and meek, for the most part. But my brain won't leave me alone, so I'll test him out, realize I'm bad at it, and probably make like nothing ever happened.
He'll be heavily canon divergent in the sense that he'll be, well, either alive or "transported into another universe (after death)", or downright in an AU.
A bit of a description of this boy:
A nervous, good-natured boy, and perhaps too trusting and forgiving of others. He's the one to bring peace to his older brother, Billy, whenever he goes on a rampage. Constantly bullied at school and abused by his father, he is always covered in bruises, perpetually in pain, and on high alert. Low self-esteem is a big factor for him due to his bullies and especially his father's statements, veering to suicidal thoughts and tendencies -- there is only so much he can take, after all, and he knows he is, and always will be, the weakest link. A non-violent person who would much rather use his words to protect himself rather than his fists.

How do your Boys muses act when they're jealous? Do they get jealous, even?
When Frenchie gets jealous, he confronts people about it. For example, he'd go to talk to Kimiko about it instead of either keeping it in or trying to fight the other person. He needs the reassurance of the person he loves more than anything. He might get a little agitated during the questioning, but he only needs to be soothed out so he mellows down. If his partner doesn't give a satisfactory answer, he'll probably get depressed and take poor choices against his health.
Maeve is more private with her feelings. The moment she is jealous, she locks herself up and becomes distant. She avoids the person and tries her best to cut them off. Instead, she drowns that feeling with alcohol, vaping, and can even go as far as wanting to "take revenge" by having one-night stands with other people. She is also one to need the reassurance of her partner, and can actually get on their side pretty quickly if they soothe her rather than attack her for her decisions. If she is attacked, she'll run, she'll literally flee and avoid that person even more.
Butcher is an all-rounder, he is a literal mess. When he gets jealous, he goes overboard, but he is so unpredictable, he's practically a roulette. He could become physically violent against the other person trying to court their partner, he could become verbally violent against their partner, grow very imposing and controlling to the point of stalking and trying to make both his partner and the other person uncomfortable. And if it turns very severe, he could end up doing all of these at the same time. He can't handle his jealousy at all. Not even the reassurance of his partner can keep him in check sometimes, unless he is taken out of his fixating train of thought. If they're successfully cut off, he won't want to part from his partner for a while, so expect to be stuck with him for hours on end.
Lenny never had a chance to be jealous or so, I feel, but if he was, he'd be the type to cry it out. He'd say he's not the jealous type, but he definitely would be, it probably runs in the family, anyway. He wouldn't try to confront his partner, but he would try to set them free from him. He doesn't feel worthy of anyone, so he'd be convinced they're better off following someone else. He wouldn't put up much of a fight, not unless his partner shows him that he is indeed worthy of them. If he is convinced of this, he'll... probably beg not to be left alone and, yeah, turn a little stalker-ish just to make sure everything's okay.

Starter for @awkwardcourage's Hughie!
Tumblr media
There's thunder rumbling, lightning flickering, and an intense downpour. The type of weather he hated the most -- the one that felt just like home. It was like he was being doubly punished. For what, he was unsure. Maybe, his father had been told that he failed to defend himself, yet again... Or, maybe he just didn't say the right thing back at him in the morning.
Truth is, he never truly knew... But he was hiding. Billy was nowhere to be found. Billy was gone, and he was here, trying to fight another day away. He hid in the closet, like his brother had told him to once, hands hugging his legs, huddled over against himself, hoping he was not found. But among the thunder and the rain, he hears footsteps approaching, and he panics. An anxious gasp escapes him, one that is almost like a whimper.
And he knows he definitely heard that so, before he can be caught at his exact hiding spot, he rushes over and out of the closet.
"I didn't mean to hide from you-- I was just looking for--" A pause comes as he lifts his gaze to meet with a total stranger. Further fear seeps in, and he jumps backwards, losing balance with each step, but managing to stay up. "I... who...?"
"Are you one of dad's friends? Or... Or maybe mum's friend?" He hoped he'd say the latter, a hand clutching the fabrics over his chest, trying to still his racing heartbeat.
