hc that gustvao can never really open his right eye that much because of being injured there, plus the scar and him being half-blind but if you point that out he will literally refuse to talk to you until receiving a genuine apology

i wrote something like this on my old blog (rest in peace) and i just genuinely feel like it should be repeated BUT

gus left his VERY wealthy family because he hated being treated like an object to carry on a famous name. he wanted to be something to someone but that path led him to homelessness because outside of butlers and maids and satin and lace? he was never taught how to be self-reliant. he didn’t know how to survive on his own so his way of navigating the streets, expecting the same treatment of just being given anything he wanted didn’t go so well and he got fucked up very bad multiple times. he’s nearly blind in one eye and his body is layered in scars, knowing exactly how he got each and every one. he’s lonely and a mess but was also pampered so much for most of his life that he doesn’t get not being treated like he was a fucking god. gustavo thinks himself perfect and acts like he is because that’s the only thing really holding him together. making him face the true reality of his scarred and beaten self? it’ll shatter him and yes, it’s unhealthy, it doesn’t excuse his attitude but when it gets right down to it.....gus would rather be treated like the object his parents thought him to be than be cold in the streets for a moment longer.
