I am stymied. I have found sith ruins on Dathomir, but they will not open for myself, alone.

It is aggravating. The crest on the door bears the sigil of Darth Revan's empire, and it was their writings which inspired Darth Bane, first of my lineage, to begin the rule of two.

My enthusiasm has stalled. Without a second sith, the ruins refuse me, the door itself will not move by force or by more... physical means. I am disallowed to my inheritance by dint of a betrayal that hasn't even happened yet.

Seething is not a potent enough word. I will have to return after I have found, trained, or resurrected another of my kind.

There is an idea present in the Jedi Council’s tellings of the origins of the Jedi Civil War – not just in the KOTOR games and tie-ins but SWTOR’s Galactic Timeline as well – that you can trace the troubles in the Mandalorian Wars and the origin of the Jedi Civil War back to Revan and Malak’s defiance of the Council’s order to stay out of the Mandalorian Wars. That Revan and Malak’s fall was rooted in the hubris of thinking that they knew better than the Council. That if only Revan, Malak, the Exile and their cohort hadn’t disobeyed, then everything would have been fine.

I don’t think that everything would have been fine if Revan and Malak had just obeyed the Council. The Mandalorians would have continued with their invasion of the Republic, killing hundreds of billions of people. The True Sith Empire still wouldn’t have revealed themselves.

Eventually, Mandalore the Ultimate would have decided that the time was right to force the Jedi to enter the war, on the Mandalorians’ terms rather than the Order’s or the Republic’s. One advantageous way to do this would have been to uncover the location of the Dantooine Enclave, the Jedi’s primary base in the Outer-rim, and nuke the planet from orbit. The True Sith Empire still wouldn’t have revealed themselves.

Having been directly attacked, the surviving members of the Jedi Council would have been forced to enter the war, whether or not they believed the shadowy threat might still be a problem. Their inaction would have devastated the reputation of the Jedi in the Republic and neutral worlds – the Jedi stood by and allowed trillions to die, only getting involved when it was their own necks on the line. Revan, Malak, and the other Jedi who wanted to enter the war earlier would have been furious that the Council had countermanded them from acting on their own better judgment only for this to be the result. The split in the Order still would have happened, just differently.

But I think that the Revanchist Jedi had their own equivalent of this idea – that if the Jedi Council had just answered the Republic’s call to war like the Revanchists everything would have gone better, and the Jedi Civil War would have been avoided. I think they were wrong too.

Given Mandalore the Preserver’s account of the Mandalorian high command’s assessment of the potential threat of a Jedi contingent led by Master Kavar, I imagine the war would have continued to go badly for the Republic under Kavar’s leadership until Revan and Malak became desperate enough to assassinate Kavar so Revan could take his place as supreme commander. Possibly after the Mandalorians assassinated, injured or otherwise took out of commission battle-meditation prodigy Padawan Bastila Shan. Revan and Malak still would have arced through a decent to become fallen heroes. The split in the Order still would have happened, just differently.

I've been meaning to answer this ask but I keep forgetting about it, oops.

Anyways! I retconned a couple of things regarding my Revan and I'll share my random notes about her.

Her name is Sonam Nevrakis.

She's a Sith Pureblood transwoman.

She identified as a lesbian and had slept with other women because she has no shame.

She is one of the two main protagonists alongside with Yuthura in both kotor 1 and 2.

She's romantically involved with Yuthura. They met when Yuthura, who goes by Elysia Daru and a Jedi Knight, went into undercover at the Sith Academy to get closer to Revan but the two got way more involved together that sparked the Force Bond. Revan knew who she was and played along much to Yuthura's surprise.

She is the biological mother to Kritanta and Eleni who are apart of my swtor casts. She is also the grandmother to Ania and Jazz.

in the beginning of kotor, she didn't start off as a tech class. instead for her amnesia, she's a fully fledged Jedi Knight. This was a nod to the 'play as a Jedi' mod I used to play.

despite the amnesia, she still remembers her first born son who was a young child at the time. not to mention the romantic feelings for Yuthura still lingers within.

She doesn't like rain. They always ruin her hair

lastly as she is one of the two protagonists for kotor 2 with Yuthura, Revan didn't fuck off from. the galaxy and stayed to be with lover and her two children. After her death, her legacy continued on through Kritanta, Ania and Jazz.

The two Wraths remained on the top floor away from the commotion as they observed the ball party couple of levels below. Neither of them felt like in the mood to celebrate the treaty success in the aftermaths of Coruscant’s sacking and the Jedi Order’s downfall.

“This doesn’t sit right with me.” Acina mused, her green eyes still glued upon the scene as the two of them were left alone to talk privately, “This could had been prevented if it wasn’t for Malgus’ interference.”

Kritanta was leaning against the column watching on with a disinterested expression, “You’re not the only one peeved about this.” He heaved a weary sigh before turning to face the dark-haired kiffar, “At least we’ll know our girls are safe and sound and not in the Emperor’s clutches.”

Acina narrowed her eyes at the pureblood, “Don’t you mean Jazzeira? It’s a pity about her amnesia, how’s Kavi taken the news?”

“Not well, I’m afraid. We just hoped we made the right decision to leave her in the Jedi’s care.” Kritanta admitted, recalling his husband’s anguish upon finding out.

“You’re certain they’ll heal her mind? Like they did to your mother?” the kiffar questioned.

Kritanta paused to think for the moment. Revan was nearly killed by Darth Malak but survived with an amnesia. If anyone could heal their mind, it’ll be the Jedi healers than the Sith--he was distrustful of Sith healers, who were willing to take advantage of a young teenager with missing memories should he and Vowrawn wanted her back home desperately.

“I’m certain they will.” the pureblood answered before quickly changing the subject, “But I’m sure you’re more worried about your own...”

“My own? Like who?”

“Valeriya.”

Acina was silent. Kritanta predicted her reaction coming--the way she stiffened upon hearing the name and closed her eyes with an exasperated sigh.

“Mm, thought so.” Kritanta spoke up after a pregnant pause, “Not only did she carried the same name, she also bares a striking resemblance to you and Bastila. Don’t think for the moment I don’t know anything--you disappeared for a couple of months, the arranged trips to Alderaan...”

There’s no denying it, Acina thought quietly, she knew the truth would come out eventually.

“She was supposed to be on Alderaan where she’ll be safer.” Acina explained her reason, “I wanted to give her a better life away from the Empire.”

“Except the Jedi discovered her existence.” Kritanta pointed out.

Acina turned to face the pureblood with a scowl, “That was hardly my plan, brother. All I did was to give her up for adoption to a family that wanted her.”

“But, you wouldn’t give her away if there was a reason,” the pureblood hummed under his breath and leaned away from the column, “Unless. You’re hiding her from someone other than the Emperor?”

Acina went silent again--she avoided the pureblood’s gaze as her eyes watched the commotion below. Kritanta had to get to the bottom of this truth. He needed to know, he needed to be aware who else is he protecting, not only his daughter but his niece, from.

“Alright, sister, I want answers.” Kritanta demanded, “Who’s the father?”

Again, Acina remained quiet.

Kritanta noticed the kiffar’s faraway look within her green eyes and decided to follow her gaze. He searced for her focus on the particular crowd and spotted one of the Dark Councillors amongst the group--pale, dark haired, middle aged human with a beard--glanced up to where the Wraths for a minute, catching the glimpse of Acina before being pulled away by his wife for the duration of the conversation.

Kritanta heard Acina’s somber sigh.

“Oh, don’t tell me...” Kritanta groaned upon realisation after putting two and two together, “Mortis’ the father, isn’t he?”

Acina staring after Mortis, rather pitifully, within the crowd, “He is.”

Kritanta exhaled sharply, “And you do realise that he’s married to Darth Alluress?”

“Yes.” Acina repeated. 

“And you also do realise she’s one of the Emperor’s Heirs?”

“No need to remind me, brother.”

Kritanta pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a loud perplexed sigh. He looked like he really needed a drink after this.

“You’re in deep, fucking shit, sister.” Kritanta said with a warning tone.

“Thanks for the vote of confidence, brother.”

Amarra Kine

Raw power - ★★★★

Amarra is a very physically powerful duelist that specializes in Form V’s Djem So style. She often physically overwhelms her opponents with powerful and fast attacks from both of her lightsabers. By the end of the conflict with Zakuul and the formation of the Eternal Alliance, she is possibly the most skilled and deadly lightsaber duelist in the galaxy.

She also has great potential for raw force power but was never able to fully develop those skills. Instead, she often uses her engineered connection to the force to slip past the force attacks and abilities of others sort of like an ant being able to avoid microwaves.

Formal training - ★★

She began her training as soon as she was able to understand language. Her childhood was spent constantly in training and being experimented on by her mother. However that training was cut short when she was six and a team of Jedi and Republic SpecForce soldiers attacked her home to assassinate her mother. From that point forward, Amarra had little to no formal training and learned everything through first hand experience.

Combat experience - ★★★★★

She spent her youth as an assassin and was very good at it. She would go on to defeat the Republic War Trust, won the Battle of Corellia, led Imperial forces against Darth Malgus and his new empire, secured Makeb for the Empire, led the invasion of Tython and served as Supreme Commander of Imperial Forces during Zakuul’s invasion. Her entire life has been spent in conflict and she has survived and learned enough that she now thrives in it. When people say that some individuals are more comfortable in hell, Amarra is definitely included.

Willingness to kill - ★★★★★

While she may not necessarily kill her opponent, she is always ready and willing to do so. Should someone attack her, she will fight to kill without exception.

Previous victims - ★★★★★

She has an impressive list of victims. Vitiate is probably the most powerful person she ever went up against and defeated (admittedly with her sister’s help). She has killed multiple Dark Councilors: Darth Baras, Darth Arkous, Darth Ravage, Darth Mortis, Darth Aruk and Darth Rictus. She defeated Revan twice. She defeated Darth Malgus during his coup attempt. And on the Republic side of things, she has eliminated multiple Republic generals and Republic SpecForce soldiers as well as Jedi Councilors Jaric Kaedan and Oric Traless.

The women’s screams of pain and anguish echoed throughout the throne room of the Emperor’s Fortress.

Lord Scourge, the Emperor’s Wrath, merely watched impassively, his stoic expression and posture giving nothing away.

Behind him, standing tall on his raised podium, stood his Master. The Sith Emperor.  

His most hated enemy.

The Emperor’s Force Lightning continued to pour from his fingers, all directed at the source of the screams.

In front of Scourge, writhing in torment on the floor, was a young human female.  Her name was Kayeh Antilles.

This woman was a Jedi Knight, already a legendary warrior throughout the galaxy despite her relative youth. She had foiled the Emperor’s plans for Darth Angral to devastate Tython and the Republic using the Desolator super-weapon. (He understood that the Jedi had decreed her ‘the Hero of Tython’ to honor her victory.) She had foiled Scourge’s own efforts on Quesh to execute Sajar, the former Dark Council member who had betrayed the Empire and the Sith by joining the hated Jedi Order. Over the course of the last several months, she had likewise crippled or hampered the Empire’s efforts on nearly a dozen other worlds, all to impressive effect for a single Jedi.  

Scourge did not care about any of that, however.

For Scourge, this woman – this Jedi – represented something else entirely: The culmination of a prophecy the Force had bestowed upon him three hundred years before.

Antilles continued to scream, lying mere feet from him.

Her raven-black hair, previously bound back tightly in a bun, had long since come loose, thick strands flying around her shoulders as her body continued to spasm under the horrific assault.

Her lightsaber had been taken and turned over to the Overseers. She had been stripped of her armor and robes and was left clad only in her short tunic vest and trousers. Scourge further knew that she had been sedated even before she had even been taken from her bacta tank. Her arms and wrists were shackled securely behind her, the Force-cuffs cutting off the young Jedi from the Force. (Theoretically. Scourge observed, noting her remarkable resistance thus far.) Four Imperial Guards had dragged her into the throne room, unceremoniously shoving her down to her knees at the foot of the steps leading up to the Emperor’s throne.

Had she been anyone else, Scourge, thinking on a professional level, might have considered the combination of all these measures to have been somewhat excessive.

But even as weakened, disoriented and bound as she was when she’d been brought into the chamber, Antilles had immediately started struggling to get to her feet. But then Vitiate’s Force lightning began raining down upon her, driving her to her knees and then to the floor. Scourge doubted she was even aware of where she was; only of the pain being inflicted upon her. The Emperor’s ritual for binding someone to his will did not require them to be completely lucid.

It only required them to be conscious when they finally broke.  

In the weeks since the doomed assault on the Fortress, the other Jedi – Leeha Narezz and Warren Sedoru – had each broken after a single session with the Emperor, giving in to their hatred and turning into loyal servants of his will. Even Master Tol Braga, the strike team’s leader and a member of the Order’s illustrious Council, had found his will crumbled by the end of his second. Each of them had, by now, passed a multitude of tests to demonstrate their devotion to the Emperor and to the Dark Side.    

Antilles was now on her sixth session.

Scourge privately wondered if even Revan had lasted so long. The iconic Jedi had seen both sides of the Force and had been the most knowledgeable Force-practitioner Scourge had ever known, next to the Emperor himself.

Yet even Revan – and his partner Malak – had eventually broken all the same, becoming Sith Lords themselves and servants to the Emperor’s will. All well before even Scourge’s time.

Antilles… lacked Revan’s knowledge of the Force, but perhaps – perhaps! – rivalled or even surpassed him in her untapped potential power in the Force. She seemed a devout follower of the light, but Scourge had felt the touch of darkness in her spirit all the same, back when he’d encountered her on Quesh.

The girl – Antilles’ apprentice, the former Child of the Emperor who had inexplicably broken free of his control – had been imprisoned down in the Fortress’ hanger along with the other members of Antilles’ crew. For the moment, they had not been interrogated or otherwise harmed. Scourge suspected that Vitiate was keeping them undamaged for some special purpose after he finally bent Antilles to his will.

Perhaps I can use them for my own purposes. Scourge mused, silently. When the time comes.

Whatever information Antilles’ followers may have had about the Republic or the Jedi was irrelevant to the Emperor; let the Dark Council and the military concern themselves with the progress of the war. The true servants – the Hand, the Children and Scourge himself, the Wrath – were all focused solely on the Emperor’s grander plans.

Plans that Scourge secretly intended to see foiled no matter what the cost.

The Jedi’s back arched as she continued to twist and turn in suffering. Scourge had interrogated and tortured hundreds of individuals over the course of his career, dating back even to well before he’d been named the Emperor’s Wrath. Inevitably, even the strongest and bravest individuals would inevitably beg for their lives, or at the very least plead for a quick death to end their suffering. The mind and body simply were not designed to withstand the prolonged suffering a skilled torturer could inflict.

Kayeh Antilles’ screams were incoherent. There were no words. Each time the lightning had struck her, she’d attempted to stifle a scream only to be quickly overcome. Through it all, she’d never once begged. She’d never said anything discernable at all.

The storm of lightning ceased as Vitiate paused for a moment, a natural step in the process. Scourge knew full well that it was best to give a subject a brief respite, so they did not become desensitized to what was being done to them.

He watched as the brutalized Jedi seemed to suppress a sob, then slowly, gingerly rolled up onto her knees before the throne.

For a moment, he was certain that this would be the moment where she finally broke and submitted to the Emperor. Where she would pledge herself to his will, and join her fellow Jedi in becoming his servant, his weapon… his slave.

Impossibly, he watched her right knee come up, as her foot planted and started to push off the floor.

She was trying to stand up.

Alone. Weaponless. Bound. Drugged. Tortured. Injured. Exhausted beyond reason. Surrounded by the most powerful being in the galaxy, his personal executioner, four of his Imperial Guards, and a whole station full of his servants… and she was attempting to stand.

To defy him.

Scourge watched transfixed. Her hair was in her eyes as her head tilted upward towards the throne. Had Scourge not been standing almost directly in front of her, he might have missed the look in her eyes. He doubted if even Vitiate himself noticed. Her deep green eyes weren’t full of defeat, or anger or even pain.

Just defiance. Defiance at this being who had imprisoned her. Defiance at this creature who had caused her such pain.

It was the most beautiful sight Scourge had witnessed in three hundred years.

There was fire and steel in this young Jedi. A resolve that refused to give in, even in the face of absolute power. Combined with her skills as a warrior and her immense potential with the Force, she was a remarkable specimen. The Emperor’s Wrath felt stirrings deep within him, the shadows of emotions not experienced for centuries…

The moment of awe came to an abrupt end as heard a sound much like a snarl from behind him.

The explosion of lightning was more focused this time, almost a solid blast of power as the Emperor focused his rage. It struck Kayeh Antilles square in the chest, knocking her clean off her feet and driving her back several meters in a blast of Force.

It was over as quickly as it began.  

The stream of lightning ceased, as Antilles lay in a heap on the ground, unconscious.

But not defeated.

There would be no submission this day.

Scourge felt a surge of cold rage bubbling up behind him. He hadn’t felt this much anger and hatred coming from the Emperor since the confrontation with Revan and Meetra Surik on Dromund Kaas three hundred years before.  

Though no words were spoken, the four Imperial Guards converged on the fallen Jedi following the Emperor’s unspoken will. The quartet would drag her back to the bacta tanks for as long as her body needed to recover. The injuries she had endured this day, like those she had suffered when she’d been captured and during her first five ‘sessions’, would not result in permanent scars or other physical damage: The bacta would see to that. The scars to her spirit would be another matter, but such wounds were typical when driving someone to the Dark Side.  

Her defiance in the face of the Emperor would mean nothing in the end, of course. She would eventually break in time. Everyone did.

But Scourge now felt a renewed sense of confidence. She would fall, but she would eventually free herself, as Revan had done. And in that moment, he would be ready to ensure her success.

Perhaps – if he were very fortunate – he would bare witness to the beauty of her defiance once again.
