rangshi hcs?

these are going to be Very specific but <3 thats okay because iw ant to talk about the proposal process

the moment rangi met kyoshi i think she had an immediate crush and that only grew the more time she spent around kyoshi. rangi was yun’s bodyguard first, but she would always make excuses to spend time around kyoshi and like. yun, who also had a huge crush on kyoshi was just as eager to make up random reasons why the both of them needed to go for a walk with kyoshi around the village. 

so you have rangi, who immediatley knew she liked kyoshi and then spends All The Time with her and basically rangi figures out pretty quickly she wants to spend the rest of her life with kyoshi. remember when aang came out of the iceberg (there’s a closet joke to be made there) and he saw katara and knew that was it? rangi’s like that

so really it was obvious rangi was going to follow kyoshi anywhere. and i think that because kyoshi and rangi meet when they’re still teenagers - like the “she would not be kyoshi without rangi” quote - they’re so fundamental to each other’s growth. they become adults together. they would not have grown into the people they are without each other. 

and rangi at age 16 knows this before she and kyoshi even get together. i think yun and rangi used to daydream together about their dream dates with kyoshi and one day rangi was like, “kyoshi and i will get married as the flowers open in the morning to show how we will always grow with each other” and yun goes um rangi what

they obviously both understand, like even in canon, that they are in love and going to get married one day but because they are both silly romantics they each have their own plan to propose

so rangi figures she’ll be the one to propose to kyoshi because obviously she has this perfect vision of everything

except everytime rangi tries to bring it up she chickens out and has to reroute

meanwhile, kyoshi has already asked hei-ran for permission and has a time and date and place picked out and know exactly how she’s going to ask. rangi does not know this is going on and hei-ran is 😌😌 you are going to be happy you fool please stay still and wait for kyoshi to propose...

it finally happens when rangi and kyoshi are taking a day to themsleves and kyoshi has rangi go for a walk with her and kyoshi, who has spent Days working on this stupid poem after calling in help from many previous avatars, jinpa, the flying opera company and anyone who would listen, holds rangi’s hands and whispers a love poem to her about the both of them and how kyoshi feels about rangi and rangi is like massive angry blush because she know’s whats going on and she wanted to be the one to propose!!

so she kisses kyoshi’s cheek (with light anger) and tells kyoshi that she wants to kiss her cheek for the rest of their life together and then kyoshi flushes and gets flustered because while rangi was a little angry about being beaten to it, kyoshi thinks this is kinda the sweetest thing ever

and then they spend the rest of their day together teasing each other and sneaking kisses as they talk about the future they are going to share together

later, they will tell their friends and celebrate, but for the moment they bask in their time alone with the other and share open easy smiles
