To the surprise of Player 333, the very same man that slapped him across the face was sitting secluded in the corner of the large common room. It seemed he was keeping a low profile, knowing full well that once people the well mannered and usually well dressed individual discovered he was here, may perhaps fall prey to a very many pitfalls. At least, that's what Myung-gi assumed. He was attempting to be discreet in himself, isolating himself from the rest of the participants after the debacle with Thanos which only served to heighten his distrust to anyone. But this well-mannered man, perhaps he could be of use to him.
Setting off from his bunk, he strides past the crowd of cliques and pairs and partnerships that have formed over the course of the introduction to the games as the former YouTuber finds himself right at the foot of the recruiter's bunk. He folds his arms and eyes the man before scoffing.
"Why are you playing then? Don't you have a stash of cash hidden away somewhere in your suitcase? Is this how you made the money that you used to abuse me with?" Asks Myung-gi, a small smirk almost appearing on those egotistical lips of his. The failed investor, was in the same boat as everyone else, and yet even in the face of his crimes and his own extortions saw it fit at this very second to mock the situation of the man who beat him in a simple children's game. But not wanting to push his luck any further, tilts his head, "Look, whatever it is you're here for, I'm sure we can find some common ground now that we're in the same boat no?"

Open - for the moots, come bother this crypto bro having second thoughts~
Tumblr media
An exasperated Myung-gi collapses onto the safety of his bunk, exhausted with the events of the day and with the game that was played. He's beginning to wonder whether this was going to be worth it, after nearly losing his life, there was a sudden realisation that maybe staying in hiding in another country would have been better than whatever hellhole this was...

@033player sent: " let's get you cleaned up. "
blood, blood, gallons of the stuff !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
The game had left him a bloody mess this time, his face stained by a crimson shade but not of his own making but of another that he was forced to sacrifice in order to survive this hellish game. He hears the words of Player 33 and nods silently as they walk back to the communal area together. After what had happened, he didn't want to go to the men's washroom, not wanting to be bothered by any confrontations from any others who would seek to annoy him and rile him up. Lashing out was not in his playbook, and he didn't want anyone to see that side of him. He wanted to keep his stoic facade for a while longer.
Cherie had been strangely close to him, he wasn't sure whether to trust her but after this game in particular he felt like having someone close, an ally to call upon would be better than just going at it alone. That was after all what everyone else was doing, perhaps he and her could do it more discreetly. He had saved a bottle of water at his bunk and takes her over with him and sits down, taking a sip from it before handing it to her.
"Drink first, then we'll use it to clean. Everyone else seems to be using the washrooms anyway... Things are quiet and it'll be lights out soon... I think the game today lasted longer than they wanted." Says Myung-gi quietly before using the pillow case that he extracted from the pillow to rub his face, wiping away the sticky combination of blood and sweat off of his face, which was still damp at that moment. "You should clean up too, Cherie."

@sharpsuite sent: receiver shows up on sender's doorstep covered in blood ( heh for the criminal au w/ Chishiya! )
blood, blood, gallons of the stuff !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The former YouTube star had spent months doing favours for Chishiya, he wondered whether he had earned the sneaky cat's trust yet, or whether he was just feigning it in order to get the indebted Myung-gi do tick off errands off his long list. Despite that, he committed to it but on this particular night, there was more than what Myung-gi had bargained for. Encountering a rival gang from another territory, who had seemingly recognised Myung-gi as the one who scammed his viewers into investing in Dalmatian coin had chased him. He wasn't as physically fit as he used to be and thus was caught easily. The events and words traded were... Quite brutal to say the least.
His face was bloodied first, the crimson stains dripped onto his shirt and coated it like varnish upon nail. They were kind and refined enough to wash his face at least, albeit very badly and borderline torturing him with it. Once they got their payback, they let him go demanding a monetary payback of some kind or else it'll happen again. The experience, while harrowing, was something he had grown used too already. It had happened in Korea before he fled, in the Philippines and now here. It was only a matter of time before viewers on this country found out he was here.
Eventually, Myung-gi would make it home, deciding taking a taxi would be safer than just walking the rest of the way despite the short distance. Once he was at the cat's door, he knocks twice and rings the doorbell. When Chisiya opens it, his bloodied form stumbles into his arms, "Think you can work some of that medical magic on me?"

Ever since Dalmatian crumbled into dust on the cryptocurrency market, Lee Myung-gi had been on the run and in hiding. His social media presence was gone, his tech savvy ways only just deleting the internet footprint that he had left barring the odd Google search on where he went to university and graduation pics which would forever be on the internet, that and the police posters plastered all over the image searches and media articles. Myung-gi needed to hide, to find a place to stay and where else could he go? It couldn't be with family, no they had disowned him long ago for choosing the path of a YouTuber instead of a traditional job like medicine or in the military.
Boy, did he wish he picked that career path now.
The fallen star hurries to an apartment complex, keying in a code he thought he'd never have to put in again and buzzing. "For fuck's sake, please be home..." He mutters to himself in a frantic display that was uncharacteristic of the usual pomp and ego that Myung-gi would oft project in his videos and to his friends. He was beginning to lose hope, until the line is picked up. The YouTuber firmly grasps upon the sides of the buzzer before calling out, "Rae?! Rae! You've gotta let me in, please!"
An acquaintance, a friend. At least he thought so? Before he was a cryptocurrency youtuber, he was an influencer and a damn good one at that. Myung-gi hoped that she remembered him, but then again, this was the sixth 'acquaintance' that he has ended up at their doorstep in the last few weeks. He only hopes that she wasn't a fool and invested in his doomed currency...

@wr1tten sent: " what the hell happened ? " (jun-hee)
blood, blood, gallons of the stuff !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myung-gi had spent the majority of the game trying to at least win back some semblance of care and attention from Jun-hee, trust was a two way street and the fallen YouTuber had lost that for being selfish. But what happened before Player 456 and his posse decided to start a rebellion was traumatising, and even that was an understatement. He was covered in blood, reeked of that iron tasting crimson as he sipped on his water, backing down from joining Gi-hun's ragtag group of gunners to storm the high command above thanks to Jun-hee's nod.
Now the dorm had fallen silent, and he was approached by the woman that he cared about the most in this game and the one that he wanted to lay down the gauntlet for, truly. No more selfish ways, he'd do it for her, and their child. "There was a guy, getting bullied by Thanos and the blue circle group. I stood up for the kid, and a brawl happened." He says quietly, the ambient noises of gunshots ringing out as the battle began. The crypto investor looks up as it happens before turning his attention to Jun-hee, opening his hands to show the wound that had formed from the fork that he used to kill the purple haired rapper.
It was deeper than he thought, but the blood had pooled hissing slightly as he unfurled it due to the sharp ting that came from the wound. "Other than this, I'm okay... What about you? How are you doing?"

@plcyer196 sent: "So... you're like a scammer?" Unprompted ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The term 'scammer' irked him greatly, while Myungi-gi was indeed responsible for advertising Dalmatian under the guise that it wasn't a scam, he himself was not a scam artist. He had invested in cryptocurrencies and other international investment funds for years and the one time that it turns out to be a scam, everyone blames him for advertising it instead of shoving it onto those that created the coin. And so when Player 196 confronted him with such information, he maintains his stoic character but shows some ounce of anger as he grits his teeth, even biting his bottom lip to hold his tongue from lashing out.
"Look, I don't know if you understand how that world works but investing money into something always has a risk. I simply pointed people to something that could make them rich if they invested... It's their choice after all, they didn't have to listen to me..." He states earnestly, a 'matter of fact' expression painted on his face as he explains himself. "It's not my fault that people were fool enough to invest a fuck tonne of their savings into something, I'm just as much a victim as they are. But isn't that why we're here? To earn money to pay off debt?"

"If I go down, I want you to promise me that you'll take care of and protect Jun-hee till the very end." His words were short, stern and filled with a selfless determination that had been missing from Myung-gi until now. It seemed the events of the game had finally taken its toll and broken down the longstanding ego of the former YouTuber, and as he sat now on the right side of history and right side of the more sane and less money hungry of the players left, he felt the most human ever since his fall from grace.
Hyun-ju, the woman he had inadvertently caused a severe amount of grief too has now become one that he could trust to take care of both his ex and his child. It was a responsibility that didn't seem fair, considering who Player 120 was and what she wanted to do once the games were over but there was no one strong enough in his eyes than her.
"I'm sorry for the pain I caused you, and I know this is so sudden and a large responsibility but there's no one else... Please grant me this one mercy." He says, biting his bottom lip just to save face, because even the slightest of pain felt better than feeling vulnerable towards a reality that could happen. "As long as she makes it, that's all that matters."

"When you're doing your marine schtick, try to keep it down. You're getting unsavoury looks from the more criminal looking bunch." Player 333 advises, sitting in the safety of his bunk as he sees his fellow player walk over. This one was different than the others, a part of the group that had taken in 222 and safely allowing her to make it through the majority of the trials and tribulations. He was grateful in a way, but harboured a deep rooted jealousy. It should've been him, it should've been Myung-gi that had been the knight in shining armour for Jun-hee... But it's probably better this way.
After giving his advice, the player leans forward and calls the former marine over so he could get a better and closer look at him. The man was taller and more physically imposing, and it was his newfound mentor that seemingly offered to scare away Thanos and crew if they ever bothered him again. Maybe having these guys as friends would be better than just playing the lone wolf so to speak...
"You hang around the older guys and listen to their beck and call like a good little soldier, don't you? Commendable, you know while I wasn't a marine I did have to do military service too. They had me with the techies."

Myung-gi had safely arrived in Thailand a few months ago, and found himself working a mundane job as a janitor in an office space. It was horrid, in his eyes, how far he'd fallen from YouTuber to criminal fraudster. But the good thing was that he was safe here, keeping a low profile as he built his funds back up (barely). The wage was a pile of garbage, barely enough to feed him on the daily and his apartment was not nearly as extravagant as when he was home in Korea. But that was the fate he had written for himself.
There he was scrubbing the floor with a mop, and while he was doing so watches as workers ignore the very obvious sign he put up that they should avoid walking across the section that he was still cleaning and leaving dirty shoeprints. He eyes those that ignored him, glaring with an intense hatred, demanding the respect that he had lost because of a damn currency. Frustration sets in for a moment, hissing under his breath and proceeding to kick the bucket of water, almost tipping it over. It wasn't until he leans on his mop and takes shallow breaths, that he lifts his head up to see a lady that was just looking at him.
The former YouTuber sighs, nodding at her before standing aside to let her pass if she wanted too. The floor was already dirty anyway, more footprints wouldn't hurt. "Come on then, walk over." He says, his English clearly well-spoken and only slightly accented. It was a testament to who he used to be, YouTube and his career helped him speak almost native and it got him around in countries away from home.

"You're nothing but Thanos' little bitch, a pathetic lapdog with no cash." Myungi-gi defiantly states within the confines of the washroom area, finally getting a chance to catch Player 124 on his own. It felt good, at least to him at that moment to release the pent-up emotions that had been boiling ever since the two slighted individuals confronted him about Dalmatian's crypto crash. Even with the insult that was flung out, 333 wanted to avoid any form of physical retaliation from Nam-gyu, he wasn't the most physically imposing and knew he'd be overpowered.
So he tries to leave it at that, finishing his business at the urinal speedily and moving to wash his hands like any polite person would. But as he looks up to the mirror, splashing his face with some cold water, he saw just how close the other was to him. In that moment, he turns, backed up against the sink and using it as slight leverage to create at least a bit of distance. "What the fuck are you doing? Why don't you guys just leave me alone for once?"
It was pointless to ask those questions, and a frustrated look forms on his face as he realises that he broke his stoic character for just a moment and showed weakness. He grips tightly around the ceramic surface below him, gritting his teeth as he eyes Nam-gyu. "Step back, right now..."

@124player sent: " that looks like it hurts. "
blood, blood, gallons of the stuff !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During the fight when the lights were shut down and the infighting ensued, Myung-gi was not spared the fate of brawling before he snuck under his bunk and managed to stay away from everything. Before that, there was an aggressive individual who was a part of the 'stay in the game' camp that had tried to attack him, and during the defence, the former YouTuber had to use a metal rod to defend himself, the rod being held onto so tightly and his adrenaline coursing that he hadn't realised that he had nicked himself whilst grasping for it.
It wasn't until the lights had turned back on the the sharp sting of cuts along his hand were revealed. Some were bleeding a bit, while others had already swelled and clotted. The comment from the player next to him makes him scoff, turning towards him with eyes of disdain and unwavering dismissiveness. "Look who's talking, who gave you that busted up eye and lip? Did you a favour I think, you look a lot better."
His comment, filled with spite, was like a weight lifted up from his shoulders as he delivered his verdict after days of bullying from Thanos' lapdog. He breathed a sigh of relief, before turning back away, hoping that sly comment was all that he could muster.

@230pl4yer sent: " the fucker deserved it. "
blood, blood, gallons of the stuff !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Because you're the pillar of justice we all deserve and need." Sarcastically states the former YouTuber as he walks by Thanos and his ragtag group of youths filled with a certain hubris and arrogance that the older man did not much care for. Oh, to be fortunate enough to be as carefree as this one, except with twice the IQ. He's shocked that this guy's still even kicking despite of all the pomp and circumstance of the games. Myung-gi knew what he was doing, culling the herd to get what he wants... Typical. So many people have died for this, and #333 was beginning to question whether this was going to be all worth it in the end, just to start over in a different country away from everything.
As he makes his way to his bunk, the odd buzz and grating noise that was the voice of the rapper behind him fills his ears and it was a good thing he wasn't looking at him. The expression of annoyance was plain on his face and he'd prefer to not get called out or start trouble for it. So he decides to stand still for a moment to give him just a little piece and nugget of advice.
"You heard of karma? You were cheated out of money, but you're just straight up murdering innocent people. You're taking out random people, but are probably too high up on whatever sweet cookie you're nomming on to know that you've got a target on your back too... So? Watch your back, because right now? You're also a fucker that deserves it."

@seoulhaunt sent: "they're talking about you," haneul says, voice hushed and head lowered. "the -- purple hair and his posse. it's not my business, but... "
he'd told himself not to get involved with anyone, not the way some of the others are doing. all these alliances cropping up, the little cliques sticking together like glue, it only complicates things. still, haneul doesn't enjoy standing idly by when there are bullies running rampant. he may not have the guts to speak up, but he can still say something to the target in question. "i'd... just be careful, i suppose. they seem an unsavory bunch."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myung-gi had made an effort to not stick out like a sore thumb anymore after the debacle at the start of the game, the embarrassment of his debt and crimes getting blurted out in front of such a large crowd on top of the threat from those he has slighted caused him to become much like a turtle, protecting himself in his shell at the safety of his bunk. The former YouTuber was aware of the threats, the danger of his situation but what else could he do? Crippling debts and a looming criminal charge, he needed the money in order to sustain himself and to move abroad to avoid the authorities and start over.
But when he was approached by another player, seemingly showing concern and even care for him? It was unexpected, and yet it was welcome. Cliques and factions were beginning to form, and while he'd prefer to go at it alone, having a friend wouldn't hurt would it? He releases a sigh, looking at the other for a moment before sitting more properly on his bed and creating a more inviting character.
"Don't worry about that, some might say I deserve it." Spoke the former YouTuber honestly, rubbing the back of his head before folding his arms, "If anything, we can only hope that they're as dumb as they look and they fall victim to the games." He says with a small smirk and scoff. "So what are you in for?"

That beating that Myung-gi took was brutal, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been thanks to the man that had decided to save him from the two on one assault from Thanos and his pesky little rat of a friend and ally. By this point, the bruising around his cheek had begun to fade and the cut on his lip was healing, his handsome complexion slowly returning was what he saw when he looked in the mirror at the washroom. Who was that man? He was a good fighter, maybe of military background... Questions that would stir internally but could never show in the open, he was stoic after all.
That was until he notices that the very same man who saved him found his way into the men's toilets. While Myung-gi would try to ignore him as he did his business, once 333 had finished washing his hands his curiosity got the better of him. The former cryptocurrency investor waits for Young-il to finish, before folding his arms and leaning against the wall.
"So why did you help me out? You didn't have too you know, god knows I deserved that beating I guess but... Thanks, I suppose. I owe you one." He says quietly, a sigh leaving his lips as he lets his mask slip for a short moment before the man that had inadvertently allowed him to carry on playing the games.

Fleeing to the Philippines was a mistake for the once popular and now cancelled YouTuber, many crime gangs had seemingly invested in his Dalmatian coin and his presence in Manila reached ears faster than he thought it would. Thus, Myungi-gi had decidedly fled from the country, taking the soonest flight to Japan and to maintain his safety and anonymity. It was here that the wanted man from South Korea found refuge, and in the weeks that followed managed to bag a job interview at a club to be a bartender thanks to some contacts he had in the vicinity that didn't hate his guts for taking their money. While it wasn't as extravagant as being a YouTuber and having the ability to create content whenever he wished, he needed money desperately, his funds and debts looming on his shoulders like an unyielding curse from beyond the grave.
When he arrives at the venue, the location at which he was having the interview, Myungi-gi found it to look quite quaint to say the least. It was nice, he was sure that he'd enjoy working here at least until he was found out to be a wanted criminal or someone he conned out of a crap tonne of won found him. For now though, he was safe.
"Hello, I'm here for an interview? I was meant to meet someone called Takumi?" His Japanese was broken, but he knew enough to keep up with a conversation, albeit his responses would most likely be slower than the norm. "Are you the one I'm meant to meet? I like the place and could really use this job..." While he found it safer here, the price of living and buying simple food for a day was tough. His wallet was constrained, and his place of living even more claustrophobic than the lining of said wallet. "It's nice to meet you." the former Youtuber struggles to say, hoping that they could switch to English.
