some folks have got to stop saying xyz pmmm character is selfish or bad or whatever. of course a lot of them are selfish and flawed, they're middle schoolers! teenagers, especially younger ones, aren't exactly known as pinnacles of emotional maturity and growth. all of them have some sort of issue.

madoka being overly self critical and self sacrificial (or being a "crybaby"), homura acting cold and distant (due to trauma), sayaka dying "over a boy" (way to misinterpret her whole entire arc), kyoko being "mean" (also ignores her backstory), mami being ingenuine (again, traumatized child), etc etc etc.

they all have character flaws because 1) almost every character ever created has at least one major flaw, or a flaw that colors their actions/personality, 2) they are young teenagers and not fully adapted adults, and 3) most of them carry some level of trauma, and suffer from isolation due to the setting.

"homura is selfish and evil". "sayaka died over a crush". "madoka is a crybaby". if you actually paid attention to the media and characters you're insulting and misinterpreting, it's almost like these things would make sense.
