“   you really don’t have to do this.   ”   though,   it is much appreciated.   beck can’t remember the last time she had a home cooked meal.   it’s definitely been awhile.   not because she couldn’t.   no,   no.   because,   as much as she hated to admit it,   she just couldn’t afford it.   so,   she stuck to microwavable meals and take out.   emerald hues flicker over him,   a sweet yet nervous laugh leaving her lips.   “   really,   i was just going to order something.   ”

𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏.    you almost sigh aloud as you sit there with your best friends, wearing an outfit that peach approved of, in a club that you really don’t want to be at. you would rather be home, sitting on your bed, with your laptop and your imagination.writing. creating.  or sitting with benji wrapped around your thighs. you’re too good for him, beck-a-licious. you can hear peach saying it. you’ve heard it so many times that you hear it even in your own personal thoughts. you would just rather be doing anything than having girls night in this noisy club. but you’re here. because that’s what peach wanted. it was the “ in ” thing to do. but you don’t care what was in or out. yet----------you’re here. 

but as you’re scanning the club, watching lovers dance, strangers touch, and lonely people find something to fill their void----------you see something that catches your eye. someone. he looks older & he looks rich. women surrounding him. bottle service, seemingly never ending. you’re too average beck, don’t even let it cross your mind. you think to yourself, biting your lip as you accidentally make eye contact with him. looking away quickly before your friends notice.

throughout the night, you manage to entertain yourself by making eye contact with this stranger. you imagine  that he is rich, and powerful by the way people behave around him, and as you sit there, holding the stem of your cosmo glass just a little too tight your mind travels to inappropriate places. you’re drunk enough and bored enough that anything sounds like a good idea. but beck-----------------remember. you’re not good enough. you’re not good enough. you're not good enough. you’re never good enough. 

the hour grows later and your friends are ready to leave come on beck-a-licious, the cab is here they beckon. but you wave them off, still drink in hand. you tell them you’re going to stay and that benji is going to pick you up. you’re lying, but the don’t need to know that. they just need to know you’re safe.

once they leave, you finish your drink, and as you go to get off your chair, you spread your legs a little wider, and approach the stranger. your heart is thumping in your chest, but you’re drunk enough that you feel some sort of confidence, though you don’t have a fucking clue where it came from. ❝   we’ve been exchanging stolen glances so i thought i might come over and introduce myself,   ❞ you grins, biting her lip.   ❝   i’m guinevere beck, but everybody calls me beck.   ❞

SENTENCE STARTER CALL Coming back home today after spending Christmas with my parents, and matts grandparents and tias! beck was stupid to allow herself to think this would go any other way for her.   stupid to let david convince her that everything would be okay,   that she was safe.   she hasn’t been safe since joe violated her life and took everything from her before trying to take her life from her.   she thought she could run away,   that leaving would keep her safe.   but,   she knows now.   she won’t be safe until joe is spending the rest of his life rotting in a cell.   but,   now he knows she’s alive and she knows it’s only a matter of time until he knows where she is.   the mere fact is enough to send her into a panic.   she has no right to be angry at anyone but herself.   maybe if she told the officers the truth,   that joe goldberg was the one who locked her in that cage and tried to murder her,   this wouldn’t be happening all over again.   but,   instead,   her anger is directed towards david.   

the anger is evident in her eyes,   fear hidden somewhere there.   beck had to force herself to be angry,   to let her angry overpower her fear.   otherwise,   she was scared that she’d just breakdown.   ❝   maybe you’re not understanding the problem here.   if he knows i didn’t die,   he’s going to find out where i am and then he’s going to lock me in that fucking cage again and   ...   ❞   she stops herself,   inhaling a shaky breath.   ❝   there’s no way i’m going back in that cage.   i’m not.   ❞
