Thinking about finding a moment of respite in your f/o during a difficult time. When nothing seems to make sense and you're at your wit's end.

They take notice of the way you've been acting lately, shrinking into yourself with a sadness and stillness so unlike you. How couldn't they, given how closely they hang onto your every move and word? Try as you may to brush off any concern with a small smile and an excuse about being just tired, your partner can tell.

One day, they decide enough is enough and stop you in the middle of another excuse. As they cut you off, their hand gently takes yours with a reassuring squeeze. Eyes soft with worry refuse to leave you, even for a moment. Leaning closer, they ask you what's really going on.

Silence hangs in the air, interrupted only by the hitch of your breath as the question truly hits you. Their touch, their gaze, their voice... it all surrounds you with such a feeling of safety, of vulnerability - that you can't fathom brushing them off again.

Swallowing your apprehensions and fears, you shakily squeeze their hand back as you form your thoughts. They let you take your time and stumble over the words however you need to. While they don't interrupt you, it's obvious their mind is busy with worry, already thinking of how to lighten your burden any way they can. Whatever you need, they would go to the ends of the earth to make it happen for you.

As it would turn out, the thing you probably needed most was just... them. Someone to listen. Someone to comfort you.

Your words slow and eventually stop, but they remain as focused on you as ever. Their response slow and measured, they try as best as they can to assuage your worries and talk you through your problems. Their thumb rubs back and forth over your hand, the motion repetitive and calming. As the time passes, the lump in your throat and weight on your heart eases, if only a little. While they can't fix everything for you, their being there means all the world to you.

As you and your partner talk the hours away, your smile returns. And this time, it seems just a little more genuine.

Sup. Since you collect My Little Pony I thought I'd let you know Youtooz is apparently releasing merch for it mid this year. They're merch is usually pretty good so might be of interest to you?

I had no idea I haven't heard of this at all!! I may or may not purchase any of it.. most of the money I put aside for buying fun things is usually funneled into the older vinyl figures (my favorite series of mlp merch.. but usually very overpriced bc they're no longer produced and scalpers are a bitch to deal with).
