lux couldn't even remember the last time she'd actually been in a grocery store— why shop for yourself when you could pay someone else to shop for you? hell, she'd once paid someone to chew her food for her, just to show that she could. she didn't eat it, of course, but it sure was a hoot watching the poor bastard chew each bite exactly thirty three times as per her instruction, then spit it back onto the plate. she'd made him eat the whole meal like that, then paid him another hundred dollars to eat the pile of mush he'd left behind. just stepping foot into the overly air conditioned store made her gut churn, but lux was in desperate need of aspirin, and her assistant wasn't responding to her fucking texts. the whir of the fluorescents felt like an icepick driven straight into her forehead, everything about the environment only grating on her nerves, and that was before she felt the weight of a stranger's gaze weighing her down. a sheet of platinum blonde hair almost whipped him in the face as she whirled around to see who dared to inconvenience her during what was already a traumatic experience, her deceptively warm brown eyes narrowing in an icy glare. "it's not polite to stare, you know."

your on-screen chemistry was electric— how did you two go about crafting that connection behind the scenes? "yeah, it was a very, uh... the whole process was rather..." gaze cut to her co-star, discreetly begging for an out, though all she received was silence. lux really should've rehearsed a more palatable answer to the question than the one currently running through her head. this sort of inquiry was expected, given the nature of the film, and yet it'd caught her off guard all the same. "well, we— there was a great deal of, um..." again, she glanced to the other for guidance, though this time she found herself momentarily distracted by their mere presence, doing a double-take as she noticed something smudged on their cheek. using her thumb to brush it away, she only noticed she'd gone silent when she heard the interviewer shift in their seat. "i'm sorry... what was the question again?"

having put in a fair bit of research, lux knew exactly the sort of approach to take in order to get what she was after. all it'd taken was a mere glimpse of the man leaving her father's office to pique her interest, and when lux set her mind to something, there was no turning back. "oh my god..." with the intonation of a teenage fan girl come face to face with her idol, lux all but ambushed the man in the middle of a ritzy company party, champagne flute in hand. "are you sullivan stoll? the sullivan stoll?" as if he was anywhere near noteworthy. she'd had to pay her father's assistant twenty bucks just to give her a rundown of who the handsome stranger was and what exactly he did for the company. even after all her studying, she still wasn't one hundred percent clear on what computer programmers actually did, but it didn't matter.the only interest she had in his brain was to see how far she could push him until it broke. "my father's told me so much about you! you're absolutely brilliant." taking advantage of the conveniently placed cocktail waiter, lux plucked another glass of champagne from the full tray, handing it over to her target. surely luring him in would be easier with a few drinks under his belt. "lux. oliver's my father— mr. laurie, as you know him."

this whole time, lux just knew all her hard work would eventually pay off. it had to, otherwise she'd have wasted a whole year of her life chasing a fantasy, idolizing the boogeyman only for him to continually evade her advances. even without any reassurance or proof that her plan was working, lux truly believed it was. there was no way the object of her obsession hadn't learned of her violent displays of affection— all the murders she'd committed just to impress him. she'd studied every detail of his gruesome crimes, and managed to mimic him so well that the police believed they were one and the same. would he be irked by her copy and pasted slashing style, or impressed by her devotion to his art? lux would be ecstatic either way, knowing that she'd made him feel something was the greatest prize of all. the bread crumbs she'd been sprinkling for him to follow lead to her current location, patiently waiting within an abandoned warehouse with her victim bound and just barely clinging onto their last thread of life. not finishing him off herself had taken the utmost restraint, but lux knew a live mouse would be more fun for her fixation to toy with than a dead one, and she'd intended to offer him up as a token of her devotion. hearing the telltale creak of the front door that was practically hanging off the hinges followed by the soft and steady thud of footsteps, lux's heart nearly leapt out of her throat, mouth going dry as she eagerly anticipated the arrival of her idol. as soon as he rounded the corner and entered the wide open space she'd set up shop in, her face broke out in a grin, pearly whites glinting in the dim light filtering through the half shattered windows. he was just as formidable as she'd been imagining— his towering frame nearly filling the doorway and casting a gargantuan shadow across the floor; lux swore to god she could've fainted right then and there. knees went weak as she swooned over his mere presence in her vicinity, feeling as though she was stood before a god. "it's you... you found me!" joy infused heavily within her tone, lux strongly resisted the urge to rush over to him and bow at his feet. "i knew you'd come! look what i caught for you!" fingers laced through her victim's hair as she yanked his lulling head back, allowing her guest of honor to appraise the prey she'd lured for his enjoyment. "he's alive. i thought you might like to play with him before we finish him off!" nearly bouncing on her heels, lux's gaze remained glued to her handsome devil as he approached, devoid of even a shred of apprehension at being so close to a sadistic killer. "bet you're surprised, aren't you? you probably thought i'd be some big brute of a man..." judging by her pristine beauty and her petite frame, lux looked nothing the part of a murderer, but that's what made it so easy to get away with it.
