"i still don't understand why i'm queen of the elves if it means i don't have unlimited magical powers to just kill all my competition and win that way?" penelope was stood at barley's kitchen counter prepping snacks for game night.. well, dungeons and dragons night. or whatever he called it. she was just happy to be there. even if she hadn't the slightest idea how to play she just liked to be involved. she was chopping away at fruit (well, if you could call it that. hacking may be a better term. her knife skills could be compared to those of kendall jenner's cucumber fiasco) happily. she loved doing small domestic things with barley. they had been together for a year and a half now and she couldn't really picture doing life any other way than how she was living it now. "and the queen thinks we need a bigger living room if we're going to be hosting more campaigns." penelope was far from subtle about the idea of moving in with barley. if you went in his room there were already signs of where she had staked her claim over the year. a night stand decorated with her before bed skincare and a fluffy pink sleep mask along with a pink bedazzled tumbler. she made it her own (including leaving a silk pillow for her hair).

ian coming back to elias on what seemed to be a temporary basis had led to some interesting string of events making up his weekends. he almost had a list of requirements he needed to accomplish each time he came into town - people and places he needed to see, squeezing it all in three work days. one thing he made sure to prioritize every week was a visit with his friend penelope, whether it be to try a new place to eat or simply run errands together.

today was the former : some new trendy drink shop posted next door to minnie’s with a pink backdrop for all your instagram needs. but it wasn’t just the backdrop that was pink, no - it was the walls. the table. hell, it was even the matcha ( that was the trend ! ) needless to say, when penelope whipped out her phone to take a picture of him with the cup ... he almost felt silly wearing green.

❛ look, penny ... all i’m saying is if i had known there was a color scheme to this place, i might have worn my pink shirt or something. ❜ he sighed and held up the cup a little higher in attempt to pose. ❛ fine, you can take one picture - but after that, i have something to tell you. ❜

welcome to the first official monthly announcement of 2023! happy new year, everyone!! the admin group at walt is so excited to announce a new year full of changes to help better the writing community we have built here for the ease for both our members but for the admin team as well. we know that members are used to seeing this in the discord, but, since there are many changes being made to different pages on the main and to guidelines and that this post will be rather lengthy we decided these would be changes that needed to be announced on the main. 

as normal we would like members to like this post but also react to the announcement in the discord server so we can assure you have read. we are also asking that any questions be sent into the main or directed to the question channel in our server. 

𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚄𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝙾𝙽𝙴:

bea is joining the admin team!!! with the new year and many exciting things we have planned for the group we decided it was time to grow as an admin group and bring in an extra hand. thankfully bea accepted graciously and we are happy to announce she’s working back on the admin team! we’re so excited to see the new ideas she brings to the table and cannot wait for you to enjoy it as well. 

𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚄𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝚃𝚆𝙾:

relaxed activity has ended! alright, pals. as the holiday season comes to a close we will now be resuming our regularly scheduled activity. our first activity check will be on January 15th.  if you’re in need of a slight refresher on the guidelines for activity please check out our rules page for a full break down. we are also just giving a gentle reminder to our closed starter / open starter rule. it’s just something we’ve noticed and would like everyone to be aware of to make sure we aren’t bubbling.

but, to put it simply we are going back to four post a week per character. meaning by activity you will have eight in character posts/threads by the end of the two week activity period. again musing posts and reblogs do not count towards activity. only active threads / starters. we are also no longer including eight posts the day before activity. we’re asking you post four replies/starters per week each character. 

which means we will also be changing the way we do our activity checks. we will be keeping the same bi-weekly schedule. we still are doing away with the “red” and “yellow” we had before. but, we will be tweaking the posting so that you are aware of how you ended up on the check so there is no confusion on how we are doing this. 

𝚎𝚡𝚊𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚎:

penelope hainline: 2 posts (week one), 1 post (week two) jim hawkins: 3 posts (week one), 2 posts (week two)  leo hamato: 4 posts (week one), 1 posts (week two) beckham teague: 2 posts (week one), 0 posts (week two). 42 hours to post or unfollowed. wally axiom: 0 posts (week one), 8 posts (week two). 

if you land on activity check 3 times on any of your characters then the admin team will just be reaching out to check on you. if you’re on hiatus we aren’t going to count that time against you. but if you come back in week two we are expecting 4 posts. 

it just makes our jobs easier as admins and it also helps keep the dash flowing actively throughout the week. 

𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚄𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝚃𝙷𝚁𝙴𝙴:

as our members are aware we have currently closed all member apps. the reason we have done this is to help tweak our rules as far as applying goes across the board. we feel as though a month may not be enough time to properly develop current characters before applying for seconds. so, as of right now we have updated the rule for applying for multiple characters. we are moving the time period to two months since you last applied for a character. that way the admins can see the on dash development you have working or in the works for your character. 

we are also adding a section for current members to the application. if you were here long enough you may remember the ‘interview-not-interview’ we had members do with an admin before applying for a secondary. this time we are adding questions specific for members to the end of the application. being fully transparent the interview was a great idea. it gave us a good idea of what you had going for your current character(s) and what you had planned but the flaw is it left things up to a sole admin if a member should apply. we are a team and we want to decide as a team if your activity and on dash development has been enough to pick up another character. 

we also are asking to see on dash development specifically. because if it is not on the dash we cannot see it and it technically hasn’t happened. we are unable to see things you plot in dms and such. we need to be able to see that proof if we go onto your character’s blog. we are also being more selective when it comes to new member apps as well. because we want to make sure you are all getting the same type of quality writers that you are. 

𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚄𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝙵𝙾𝚄𝚁:

new pages!! so, the admin team has been busy bees trying to work on different pages and the lore behind the walt universe. we’re excited to announce two new pages that have been in the works. 

elias lore, an all in one page that shows a time line of events, different lore, and also a breakdown of different areas of locations of elias. 

outside locations, different locations located outside of elias that are mentioned in bios or often by characters. 

these pages will be continually updated as we go through creating new characters and more world building. 

again we’re being fully transparent with you guys as to why we are making these changes because we have such a great team of writers we want to make sure the group isn’t lacking anywhere. and it helps with activity. we will never hold any members to a standard we wouldn’t hold ourselves to. if you have made it all the way to the end you deserve a hug. any questions please send them to the main inbox or questions channel.

Emzy's characters always have me laughing! When she's on the dash, I know I'm going to be cracking up or filled with emotion! Penelope is my Queen. She's probably all of Walt's Queen. She's also so nice to everyone!

LITERALLY ONE OF MY BEST PALS ON HERE WOW. Penelope is such a beautifully written character, but what really makes Emzy special is her kindness and ability to make me smile even when I'm in the most rotten of moods. I honestly don't know what I would do here without her!

When you first joined with Penelope I thought I was going to have the roughest time writing with that character. But you made that super easy by being an amazing writer and making sure you stay true to the character at the same time. I couldn't imagine this rp without her and you in it.

Emzy, you are a gift from the Heavens. From your constant support and love on everyone’s ooc posts to your portrayal of Penelope Hainline, I feel blessed every time I am in your presence. You have no idea how much I love Penelope. I want to BE Penelope. I legitimately read every reply of hers that shows up on the dash. Her interactions are always so different and just... fun to read. She is so expressive, with her huffing and sighing and her eye rolls and her dramatic remarks. And let’s face it, people like that can be pretty dang annoying. But that is the last word that I would use to describe her. You do an amazing job at making her downright delightful while staying true to her character, and it blows me away. The thread where she found out that Aurora was a princess? Pure gold. I actually laughed... out loud... more than once. Your writing is always on point, I’m actually pretty envious about that, and either you are never, ever in a bad mood, or you don’t let yourself take it out on anyone when you are. You’re never anything but kind and I’m not sure you realize how much someone like you can change the atmosphere of a roleplaying group, but they do and you have. Penelope is a queen, but you are a Goddess. And I love you even more than I love Penelope. (And that’s a lot of love right there.)

I love you and all of your children, every character you write is amazing and so are you.

Omg watching you play Pen is truly a gem. You're not afraid to let her make mistakes or be rude and that takes a lot of guts as a mun. Keep at it!
