It was just the two of them together, both staying in Albedo’s camp on Dragonspine as a blizzard kept either of them from leaving. Kira couldn’t tell what time it was, but she knew it must be very late into the night. Her brain was tired and not quite as sharp as usual, a bit more susceptible to actions of the heart rather the mind. So, she didn’t quite notice it when Albedo drew closer and closer. Or perhaps she just didn’t care…

There was something odd about that alchemist. So smart that it stunned the woman, and of course quite attractive physically as well. She was drawn to him, whether she admitted it aloud or not. The two talked through the night, mostly about discussing experiments and things of the past Kira had studied. Now that the night had grown so long, they seemed to be running out of things to talk about. They instead just remained close to each other… The atmosphere felt heavy, but Kira didn’t allow herself to think too much into it.

Until he spoke. His words were so direct, so forward with what he wanted, and it startled Kira. A warm blush formed at her cheeks. However, she didn’t get too caught up in her thoughts over what could have brought this on. She didn’t really think at all, for that matter. Surprise slowly faded from her face as she continued staring at him, her lips just slightly parted inquisitively. She finally spoke a few moments later. “…what’s stopping you?” She certainly wasn’t going to.

Scar Related Prompts—No Longer Accepting

Kira had seen the mark on his neck before, and she always wondered about what it was from. Perhaps an experiment gone wrong? Or perhaps an experiment gone right… She didn’t know what the marking was for or what it represented, but it had to be something. Still, Kira never asked about it. She didn’t wish to possibly upset him, after all. But here he was, actually showing her the marking. The collar of his blue shirt was moved out of the way to allow her to clearly see the yellow star upon his pale neck.

She refrained from reaching out and touching the mark. That would be stupid…right? The more she stared at the marking, the more she realized how familiar it seemed. Not so much the coloring of it, but that shape. She’s seen that shape before many times…but where? It took her a moment before she froze, pale fingers lightly brushing her cheek bone right under her eyes. That same symbol was in her eyes…wasn’t it?

“…I always assumed you got that from some sort of experiment,” Kira told him as she lowered her hand back to her lap. “Is that what happened..? This doesn’t look like an injury of any sort. What is it..??” And why was it the same symbol that was in her eyes..?? Surely this wasn’t some sort of coincidence. It had to mean something…but what?

Moved Over From the Old Blog—No Longer Accepting

“Albedo.??” came the teen’s first response to seeing the ‘alchemist’ before him. Bennett couldn’t say he was surprised--Albedo seemed to come to Dragonspine often and was most likely seen doing some sort of experiment or painting in the snowy mountains. Still, he didn’t expect Albedo to be here right now...mostly because that would be a show of good luck, and that never happened to Bennett. But it was nice to see a friendly face...or so he thought.

The boy didn’t stop even though he was told to--instead, he directed his path towards the look-a-like with a friendly smile. “I wasn’t expecting to find you out here! My luck must be getting better, huh? But... I don’t really understand. Why can’t I go further? Don’t worry, I’m totally packed and ready to go deeper into Dragonspine this time!!” He paused. “Wait, is this because of the avalanche.?? I don’t think that was my fault this time... But I’ll be careful not to cause another one, if that’s what you’re worried about!!”

Bennett’s smile faded just slightly when he looked at the man. Something was...different about him. The boy couldn’t quite place his finger on it just yet, but he could see that something wasn’t right. It took him a moment to realize what it was. “Hey...what happened to your weird star thingy...?” Wait a minute... Bennett took a hesitant step backwards.

In all honesty, he didn’t blame the alchemist for his skepticism. A random creature from another nation suddenly coming into his life. Only a fool would blindly trust such a stranger. Xiao told him that he was an Adeptus that fought to protect Liyue, but how could anyone be sure? He certainly wasn’t going to make a big show of his powers for the man. Not all humans revered the Adepti, and in all honesty, Xiao was fine with that. He hated worshipers… They always wanted something.

“I don’t care,” Xiao replied. Perhaps that wasn’t the best way to say such a thing, but he had always been painfully blunt with his words. “Trust me or don’t, it holds no relevance to me. After all, I hold no trust for you either.” There was a strange energy coming from the blond man, something about his aura that didn’t seem…human. Almost as if he was artificial in some way. However, it wasn’t Xiao’s place to pry. As long as this man stayed away from the affairs of Liyue and didn’t try to harm it, he held no ill will towards him.

“So what’s the plan for today, Mr. Albedo?” the teen inquired excitedly as he rushed over to the alchemist’s side. Another day in Dragonspine... After the last time he was here with Albedo, he decided to be a bit more careful. The Traveler told him that he could tell the real Albedo from the “fake one” by the mark on his neck... And that mark was right there, perfectly in place! Thus, Bennett wasn’t concerned about that in the slightest. No, instead, there were far more other things to worry about.

Luckily, he flipped his Treasure Hoarder emblem at least twenty times, just to prepare for this adventure. He would really like to make a good impression on the alchemist... Albedo was really cool, and Bennett wanted to be like him in that regard. Even though he wasn’t nearly as smart as the man...nor talented with painting. Oh well, at least Bennett could be sure to light up torches as the two made their way through Dragonspine together.

“Why did you invite me to come? Do you need me for something? Maybe some cool Pyro Action~? Ooh, or maybe ‘cause I know the mountain pretty well!! Orrrr maybe ‘cause you wanted to...what was it? Investigate my bad luck or something like that? Eh, doesn’t matter, I’m open for anything and everything!!” He just wanted to be of assistance... He didn’t want to disappoint someone as cool as Albedo.

Kira’s Birthday!! (11/03/2022)—No Longer Accepting

It was…beautiful… Kira had never seen a flower like this in her life. True, she has seen blossoms like these in the Traveler’s hair, but she just assumed those were simply hair ornaments and were fake. Now that she had a version of that plant here in her hand, she realized they were real. This was incredible… Kira wanted to see more of these, but where could she possibly find then..?? Where was Albedo from anyway?? “Inteyvat… Is that where the name Teyvat comes from.?? Or were the flowers named after our world??”

Starred, turquoise hues looked back up at the blond alchemist before her. “Is it really alright for me to take these..?? If your home is far away, it must be very hard to get these flowers…” How did he get them anyway..?? “Does that mean the Traveler is from where you’re from?” No, that couldn’t be right—the traveler was from a different world. Maybe she picked up those flowers from her travels? Maybe Kira could ask her one day.

The young woman decided to spare her lover any more questions, determining she could save them for another time. Instead, she tucked the blossom into her hair and smiled. “Thank you, Albedo… This is so wonderful. I love it.!!” She giggled happily and pressed a chaste kiss to his lips. “A feast you said..?? That’s a bit much just for me, but I’m grateful~ Let’s not keep them waiting.!!”

She could feel eyes on her from across the room, but she didn’t dare glance over to see who is was. After all, she felt like she had an idea of who it could possibly be. There weren’t many people in the library today save for the regulars--like Ella Musk--, Lisa who is practically always here, and a few others who were searching for books or using the quiet atmosphere to read. One of these others was the chief alchemist himself, Captain Albedo. 

Kira had a feeling it was him. It wouldn’t be the first time she caught Albedo staring at her. She didn’t know that man very well--no one did, as it seemed--but he always seemed to be in such deep thought. Maybe he wasn’t looking at her. Maybe he was just thinking and his gaze just so happened to be on her. Kira didn’t know, but she did feel rather curious about it... Still, she couldn’t work up the nerve to ask him upfront if he was watching her. What an awkward situation that would be.

The woman finally turned her head to see who was looking at her and, sure enough, it was him. What fascinated him so much about her..?? She supposed she was fairly attractive, but Albedo didn’t seem like the type to pay much attention to that--good, she was the same way for the most part--so what else could it be? Instead of asking, she smiled and gave him a sheepish wave. Why did her cheeks feel so warm all of a sudden..??
