How many times have you been in love?

Well from eighteen to twenty-two I was deeply in love with Jai but I think even he would agree that did not go well. That relationship did teach me a lot, in retrospect. Mainly, that you can't love somebody enough to have them change for you and if you truly love that person you don't want them to change. Even if that means being together just isn't going to work. We have managed to maintain a genuine friendship over the last ten plus years, though so there is still love between us, it just looks different than I imagine. @jaibahri The last time I was in love, it was someone I fought very hard not to fall for. I knew we weren't going to work, because I was lying to him about who I was. But he was charming and genuine and warm and generous. I loved making him smile and he was brilliant. He stimulated my mind in a way I didn't even know it could be. And I have had amazing conversations with all kinds of people from all walks of life. And he was talented in way that I won't discuss on this website. That was three years ago and I have missed him every day since. @patrick-flanagan
