cassie has never really been religious ; her parents never instilled it into her , and she honestly doesn't know what to believe. part of her feels as though if there is a deity watching out , she's angry with them for all of the trauma and hardship they've allowed her to face. part of her feels like they've kept her around and alive THROUGH the hardships , and part of her is not sure there's anyone there at all.
