⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀a bright smile adorns barbie's picture perfect features, warmth spilling into her gaze as she takes in what used to be a resident of barbieland. he has grown into his features a little more, which is to say that he's aged ; beautifully human, but barbie could still recognize beck out of an entire sea of people.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀she didn't understand what it was that he felt all those years ago, all that talk about feeling different — but she remembers telling him that barbie as a whole had always been about following your dreams, and that the sentiment didn't JUST have to resonate with the other barbie's — it could be for anybody.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀the next thing they had known, beck had disappeared off to the real world. one of the first barbies to achieve such a feat, celebrated for his bravery in venturing off into the unknown. back then, barbie didn't understand why he'd want to leave — she understood now.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀her smile only seems to brighten at his words, hands grasping his as she tries to contain her own excitement. while staying with gloria and her family had been a blessing in itself, barbie didn't want to impose any longer than she had to — and once she had seen beck on the tv, she knew the choice was no longer in her hands ; she had to seek him out.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀and that alone was not as easy as she had initially HOPED it to be. after a literal run on a soccer field and outrunning authorities for what felt like the fifth time ( who knew the real world had so many rules ? ) it was by some MIRACLE barbie didn't get dragged away to another holding cell. no, it was all thanks to him.
