The Cult dedicated to worshiping Chthon was founded by Morgan Le Fay and continued by her son Mordred in hopes they could awaken the sleeping god. The cult consisted of sorcerers with the hopes of summoning Chthon with the Darkhold to Earth to do their bidding. Chthon, however, had no desire to be ruled over, using this opportunity to destroy the Earth. The god was too powerful to be banished from the realm, instead Morgan and the cult sealed him away into Mount Wundagore.

The cult continues today, revering both Chthon and Wanda as both separate beings and as a combined entity. Being the host to the elder god, she is worshiped vehemently as her status as the host, the nexus being, the anti-Christ, and the dark Madonna. They offer up sacrifices of blood to appease the sleeping god. The cult rejoiced at the birth of Thomas and William, because of their births marked the overcoming of the other elder gods who restricted Wanda from having children.
