synopsis; you and jungwon broke up as you were going to different universities

long, handwritten note deep in your pocket

‘my dearest jungwon,’ the note began. that was all jungwon had read before folding the letter back up after recognising your handwriting. he shoves the letter deep into the pocket of his jeans as his train made his way onto the platform.

it has been several weeks since you and jungwon’s breakup. weeks of torturous conversations of who ended it and why it ended with your peers. weeks of tears and ice cream. weeks of avoiding each other.

the breakup wasn’t amicable… to say the least. as you both approached the dreaded results day, you both came to the conclusion of a breakup before going into university. it wasn’t uncommon for couples to breakup, especially if they were going to universities hours away from each other.

‘you don’t even want to give it a try?’ you huff at him. this has been the third time this week where you are both arguing about what to do after receiving your results.

‘y/n, we are going to be… hours away from each other. we’ve always been attached by the hip, we’re not going to cope well with this!’ he shouts back.

‘you don’t even want to try and see how it goes? you’re the one who wanted to go to uni far away!’ you yell as he plops onto the couch.

‘oh! so now it’s my fault that the uni i want to go to is so far away! you were the one who said you would be fine with it!’

‘i was going to be! until you pull this shit! i was fine with you being so far away because i know that you going to this university, has been your dream wonie. i wasn’t going to let my selfish needs get in the way of your dreams and i was willing to travel to see you no matter how long the journey. and you pull this shit. i get it now. we should end this.’ you finally say, leaving jungwon before he could say anything.

in dreams, i meet you in warm conversation

‘i love you, y/n.’

‘i love you too, jungwon.’ you smile at him as he held you closer into a tight hug. jungwon gives a small kiss on your forehead as you lay in his small university single bed. ‘i’m so glad you decided to stay close to my uni, baby.’

‘i am too, i don’t know how i’d cope with you being so far.’ jungwon’s replies as you notice a bright light coming out of his window. slowly, your vision was engulfed in white and you awaken from your slumber.

you are back to reality, in your own university room. most definitely not jungwon’s who is hours away. it has officially been 6 months since you and jungwon broke up, not like you were counting anyways. many of your friends have told you that you would have forgotten him by now, but it seems like time sure is taking their sweet time.

is jungwon doing alright? is he eating well? does he have someone new? you have so many unanswered questions, yet no means of getting the answers. you have both cut off all contact and have mutually agreed on unfollowing each other off of all of your social media accounts. you occasionally spot him in heeseung and jake’s instagram stories on how they turn up to lectures almost an hour late or in riki’s who goes up to visit him and flirt with the older women.

you make your way to your university’s café. it was one of many littered around campus, but this one tends to be less busy as its farther away from all the busy buildings. yujin, a girl you met in your course who became one of your closest friends, waves her hands at you as you make your way to her. setting you bag down, she gives you a smile.

‘y/n… you know how it’s almost my birthday…’ she starts, tugging on your sweater. ‘i wanna celebrate back home! i really wanna introduce you and the others to my hometown friends! you can say no!’ she beams at you.

initially, you were really up for the idea, not until you remembered where she’s from. she notices the slight shift in your face.

‘it’s totally okay if you don’t want to come y/n, i know you’re scared of bumping into him…’ as much as you are scared, a part of you also is thrilled with the chance to see your ex. you reassure yujin that it was okay.

‘i mean, your hometown is quite big. i doubt we’d run into him, right?’

oh boy …

and you've got your demons, and darlin they all look like me

another day, another shot of vodka to start a university students day – or whatever heeseung said. exam week has finally come to an end for the boys, and such momentous occasion must be celebrated at their local wetherspoon’s with cheap pints of beer and jaeger bombs.

well, that’s not the only thing jungwon is drinking to tonight.

as the boys pull up to the pub, busy crowds of university students surround the entrance with the security guard occasionally checking ids for those who look underage. with the boys going inside, they try and look for a seat and ended upstairs – barely securing the table due to the busy friday night.

‘first round is on me boys!’ heeseung yells as he makes his way to the bar, god knows what drink he’s gonna bring this time. last time, he brought out some type of thick vanilla liqueur that resulted in jungwon puking out his halloumi fries.

sunghoon and jungwon watch heeseung charge to the bar as more friends join their table, namely jake, jay, and sunoo.

‘while heeseung is getting, probably the most horrendous drink ever, i’ll order us a round of tequila.’ jay announces as he orders on his phone, unlike heeseung who is probably now distracted by the pretty bartenders. thanks were given around the table as they all catch up with one another.

‘ayo, won.’ jake starts. ‘i heard that y/n is gonna be out partying today.’ he says looking up from his phone to jungwon, who now looks confused. his y/n never really went out, let alone partying.

‘well, uhm, that’s not really any of my business, man.’ jungwon shrugs at jake, beginning to feel uncomfortable that the whole table is now paying attention to him.

‘yo, i’m sorry man. i didn’t know you guys were still not t-‘

‘oh look! tequila shots, thanks jay!’ jungwon cuts jake off taking two of the shots. ‘i forgive you jake.’ he smiles at him before downing both shots. as more drinks were ordered and drank, jungwon was almost at his limit.

‘won, you should chill.’ heeseung advises the younger boy, before getting a scowl as a response.

‘god, i’m fine! i’m gonna go take a piss.’ he mumbles as he gets up from his chair. his view was slightly blurry and wobbly, but he made his way to the toilets. he waved at some other students he recognised before pushing the door open to the toilets to do his business.

leaving the toilets, he bumps into a person. a girl?

‘i’m so sorry, didn’t see you.’ he mutters as he meets the girls eye. your eyes.

‘jungwon?’ you looked at him shocked – not expecting to actually bump into the boy.

before you receive a response, he bolts off into a different direction. he looked at you almost scared and… disgusted? you couldn’t quite figure it out.

silence, the train runs off its tracks

synopsis ; reader is stressed over exams and they try to help HYUNG LINE

sunoo ★彡

being your school's social secretary, sunoo is normally busy thursday evenings due to their student council meeting. and normally, you wouldn't mind - but this exam revision has been kicking your ass since you got home. you sent him a text, of mostly just colourful words describing how agonising it is to be studying for the exam.

sunoo's phone dings at your notification, and you swearing was an understatement here. you stringed along words in a way he was scared for his own wellbeing, knowing to never have an angry y/n. he excuses himself from the meeting and leaves early to pick up your favourite snacks and sweets.

you open the door after hearing a soft knock, revealing your boyfriend sunoo with an array of your favourites. he drops the bag in his hands and gives you a warm embrace.

'you are doing so well, my sunshine.'

jungwon ★彡

you and jungwon were studying at your local library. an exam approaching in the next few days, thankfully jungwon was also in your class and lent you his notes for the days you weren’t in or for the days you could take be bothered to write up the notes.

a loud thud echoed through the library as a result of u dropping ur head onto the table. thankfully, it was only you and jungwon as it neared the late hours of the night.

‘baby, whats wrong?’ he asks softly stroking the top of ur head. you raise your head at him and frown.

‘your notes are great but they are NOT sticking in my brain.’ you mumbled, earning a laugh from your boyfriend.

‘you shouldve said so earlier, baby. come on, let me help you.’

ni-ki ★彡

unlike his older members, ni-ki absolutely refused to go to school - or pursued anything academic. and so when his girlfriend starts crying about how difficult the upcoming exams are, he was panicking.

‘riki, i’m going to commit a crime. maybe rob a bank! and then maybe i’ll be rich and don’t need to finish school!’ you laugh, slowly going insane for every word you read.

‘no! don’t do crimes … uh, just study!’ he smiles at you, gaining a glare.

‘babe, you’re supposed to help me here and not stress me out even more!’ you cry out, u til he begins to rub his own eyes.

i’m sorry lets study together, i might cry because even i don’t know the content… at all.’ he says, taking a seat next to you.

‘but in all honesty y/n, you have nothing to worry about. i love you.’

synopsis ; reader is stressed over exams and they try to help MAKNAE LINE

heeseung ★彡

heeseung realises a bit too late that you were stressed out, as you were already in tears with your head resting on your hands. as you were about to bash the book onto your forehead, heeseung swipes the book away from your hands.

'baby...' he frowns putting the book aside. 'come here.' he smiles as he heads towards his bed, following after him. you were engulfed into his warm embrace as he hums you a tune. the tune was from the first song he ever sang to you, and it made you relax with the thought of the memory.

'are you feeling better now, baby?' he smiles as he strokes your hair, pulling you closer to him.

jay ★彡

he has been watching you for a while. initially jay thought that your rigid and stiff posture was because you were focused, but he soon realised that you were holding in tears as you dreaded your exams. he approaches you from behind and places his hands on your shoulders.

'you're so tense babygirl, you've got this exam ok?' he whispers into your ear, massaging your shoulders. jays fingers apply pressure, undoing knots you didn't know you had from studying.

'does this hurt?' he would occasionally ask as he moves around your back. 'you're doing great baby, i'll do this again if your back starts hurting again ok?'

jake ★彡

jake insisted on studying on his bed, which wasn't a good idea on his part - he couldn't focus at all unlike you. where you were busy typing away, he was too - doing a 'how fast can you type' test online. and many more.

as he got tired from his many tests, he closes his laptop and scoots towards you. you haven't written anything. nothing.

'y/n? are you, uh, okay? baby?' he asks looking at you who's sat there frozen. jake takes the laptop off of your lap and puts it away giving you a hug. 'aww baby, i'll give you a hand later ok? i've finished mine anyways. cuddle break?' you nod as he wraps his legs around you and you melt in his arms for the next few minutes. or hours.

sunghoon ★彡

you were both studying at the library when he hears your stomach grumble. he was already sick of studying, but he noticed that you were still doing work so he waited for a sign from the heavens to relieve him from the demon called studying for exams.

'y/n do you wanna grab some lunch?' he asks as he starts putting his stuff away. he looks at you when you didn't answer, 'oh no, baby...' he says rushing over to your side.

'i can't leave, i'm so not ready for this exam hoon. ' you grumble, eyes not leaving your screen.

'come on bubs, you're just gonna get grumpier by the second. my treat.' you look up at him as he flashes you his smile. how can you say no to that?

PURRR i have an exam tmr which i should really be revising for rn... BUT IM NOT anyways its 12AM i need to get up at like 4/5 to study sm more so good bye yall :D

synopsis; you are infront of yours and jungwon's family recounting your favourite memories

today was the day.

a day that joined your family and jungwon's. the crowd begins to settle down as the tune to his favourite song plays. people scurried around, finding a seat. many of which just occupy any they could find free, asking others to scoot over the pew.

you took a deep breath before entering the scene. you have been observing them from a small room that was tucked away at the very back of the church. you fix your white dress as your father smiles at you weakly before walking down the aisle with him.

each step felt heavy as you approached jungwon. you were definitely not dreaming, you tell yourself as your father holds onto you nearing your beloved. as he guided you up the steps, your father places a soft kiss onto your hand as you make your way next to the man you loved ever so much.

as the priest went over scripture and readings, your hand reaches into your dress' pockets. your little speech that you have prepared to say in front of both families. the priest hands over the mic to you, as you look at the crowd.

'hello, everyone. friends and family of myself, and jungwon.' you smiled at the crowd who watched you intently.

'now, i have always dreamed of reading you this note that i wrote, from the third year of me and jungwon's relationship. it was a dream that i get to fulfil today, but as life is full of surprises... i never,' you hiccup at the end, breathing in deeply before continuing. 'i... i never thought that i would be reading this out to our families in a funeral.' your hand was now shaking as you look back at your lover encased in a casket.

'i loved, no. i love jungwon. and i knew that he was the man i wanted to marry since the very first time i met him. he wasn't the man of my dreams at the time - rather he was just a quiet boy i found to be charming.' you look at his mother who was wiping away tears.

'you have done a fine job of raising your son mr. and mrs. yang. thank you for giving me the chance to love your son and be loved by him. jungwon has greatly changed and influenced many around him, and we will never forget that.'

‘jungwon had been my rock. i’m sure now he’s probably screaming at me telling me that he still is my rock, and that he is.’ you gain a few chuckles from the crowd as you continue your speech. ‘he has been there through my toughest and i know it wasn’t his intention to make me feel this way, or any of you for that matter. i know that he is simply going to be watching over all of us, like he had always been.’

‘to my lover, my fiancé, my best friend in the whole world – rest easy. maybe this wasn’t our life time, maybe in an alternate universe we are happy with our two beautiful daughters called luna and areum. but this is what I face now. a future without the man I call mine. a future with no you. if you are listening, i love you jungwon. and that will never change.’ as you finish you felt a gust of wind enter through the open windows, pushing one of the balloons closer to you.

‘that must’ve been him.’
