What darker love do you embody? ;; Philip "Pip" Pirrip
love like a wildfire.
“ all encompassing. you would burn the world down for them… but, the same fire you use to warm them, will also burn them. you love too strongly. you love until you set everything ablaze, destroying what you managed to build together. ”

He wasn't sure how he expected this to go when it came to leaving. Neither of them seemed to truly even want to be in this situation. He, himself, was uncomfortable and wasn't hard to tell Damien also wanted out of this situation, even if he'd been the one to begin it.
Pip didn't question who 'she' was, taking the assumption this said she was either Damien's mother or perhaps this friend that had come after him. He also didn't come to question the beginning of his sentence. He needed to leave. Pip knew that was likely what he meant, it wasn't difficult to figure out, but he felt this was awfully forced. But what wasn't here?
His gaze now settled back onto Damien finally. It was just even clearer how he wanted out of it as well due to how he'd backed away as if he was preparing to try and run off. At least, that's what Pip would think of how he looked.
“ Well, ” He'd begun before pausing, unsure what to even say. What was one even meant to say in a situation such as this? He hardly knew and could hardly figure it out as he found a small frown pressing itself onto his face.
“ Well... ” He repeated. “ If you must be off then farewell— but still I wouldn't be opposed to encountering you again, Damien. As much as I am uncomfortable with you, I do not wish that to be a permanent feeling for when I see you. So I do ask that, in the future, you don't force yourself to avoid me. Please. ”

❝ ❛ what do people around here do to have some fun ? ❜ (gently slides here for Henrietta @ Pip) ❞
From ;; 🐝 * ― 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒.
Initially, no answer came from Pip to the goth woman. He honestly assumed she wasn't even speaking to him; He did currently do his best to avoid people around town for the most part. However, he soon came to realize that she was addressing him and was a bit embarrassed by his lack of immediate response.
“ Oh! You're speaking to me, aren't you? I am quite sorry for not realizing sooner! ” He hardly wished to seem like he was ignoring her on purpose, that would be rude and ungentlemanly of him. “ I assumed you'd been talking to... well... to someone else! ”
There came a bit of a laugh from him as he attempted to laugh off his incorrect assumption but it was rather strained and awkward sounding.
“ But I'm afraid I can't exactly say what other people, or I suppose even the majority of people, do for fun around here! I'm not exactly the sort of person to... ask about other people. ” An awkward smile was forced by him. “ Oh, but I'm sure I can suggest something, if that's what you're looking for? An idea or suggestion on what to do from someone? ”

❝ How long had it been since he last spoke to Pip? Years now for sure. A tinge of guilt later in that evening as his mother scolded him for what he did started to lead to Damien avoiding the poor Brit who was more than deserving of an apology. And after all these years things have finally caught up to him. After all these years, they're in the same spot, staring each other down, or rather Damien staring him down and remembering all that he had done.
Glancing off to the side for a moment, his gaze turns to the nearest exit and back to Pip again, the normal calm expression he carried soon turned into nervousness. Tugging on the collar of his sweater, he's desperately scrambling to figure out how to word this. That is.. until the words spill out of his mouth, leaving his face a bright red from pure embarrassment.
"I'm sorry." Is the first out of many, it feels empty to him, like Pip deserves more than this. "F-for what I did as a kid. When I almost killed you. I.. I owe you an apology for that. I mean. I know it's been years and this won't change what I did. But I figured i've avoided approaching you enough over this.." { Damien @ Pip @infernal-stars } ❞
From ;; not an ask meme // plotted ask
It had been uncomfortable. Just going about his business in this dreadful little town and then seeing someone that looked like him. Then to only find out it was him, it truly had to be just his luck. Bad luck, that was. Pip did think himself a potentially notoriously unlucky sort of fellow with his grand track record of bad things happening to him. Though, this? This did feel he was being mocked by some outside force.
Because, of course, once he's resurfaced. Once he's decided to finally allow himself to begin acting normal, as if he hadn't been dead for basically a decade, he ends up meeting Damien Thorn himself once more. Someone who he'd once briefly considered one of his very few friends as a child, someone he'd been betrayed and almost killed by just in an attempt for the other to try to fit in with their peers.
And the look of discomfort laced with a bit of fear soon switched out to a look of surprise as the apology came out. One that actually addressed what wrong had done, at least partially.
“ You're sorry? ” He almost sounded bewildered.
Sure, apologies were something he hoped for in returning to the surface and being able to see those he once knew again. Did he expect to truly get any? Certainly not. Even less so from Damien. It left him genuinely speechless for a long moment as he hadn't a clue what else to even say to this.
Pip's hands were soon clenched into fists at his sides as he soon found his words again, purely out of a sense of anxiety and — honestly? — a bit of anger as well.
“ I can't... ” His eyes scanned the surrounding area briefly, looking anywhere but the embarrassed man before him. But he soon forced his gaze back onto Damien. “ I— I can accept that you're sorry and your apology is appreciated but... I cannot just forgive that. You... You betrayed me and you were no better than everyone else. You could have killed me. All just to please everyone else. ”

“ ❝ go on, tell me what’s on your mind. ❞ { Dougie @ Pip CONVERSATIONAL SENTENCE STARTERS } ”
From ;; CONVERSATIONAL SENTENCE STARTERS // Always Accepting
Pip couldn't help but sigh when told to tell Dougie what was on his mind. It was a lot... at least Pip felt it was a lot. Then again, every time he got to thinking it ended up feeling like a lot. That he had too many thoughts, that they were becoming burdening due to his own worries.
“ It's quite a lot I must admit... but I suppose my main concerns have been with returning to this quaint little town. I can't help but worry about everyone back home, you know? My sister, Joe, my friends from back home... I can't help but worry how they're getting on. I know I could just send letters to them, and I do of course, but it takes a while for them to go back and forth. ” He spoke before briefly quieting. There was more to his concerns of course, specifically in his even coming back to the town, but those back home had been his main concerns.
“ ...I suppose I also do worry about the people here as well. Not in the same way, aside from my friends here like you of course, but rather how their attitudes may be now. They were rather cruel in the past and I can't help but worry they haven't grown out of their ways. ”

@monmuses // Continued from [ x ]
It wasn't often Pip noticed someone he didn't recognize when wandering around town. Sure, he had reasons he wouldn't recognize everyone in town but he would wager that people who moved or came to town didn't tend to stay. They'd move here briefly, be visiting briefly, or so on... then they'd eventually leave once they got a taste of what things were like.
But that whole little thought process brought him to coming up to the fellow and attempting to strike up a conversation with a rather simple question. Just a simple question to confirm his thoughts. One he was quite pleased to get a proper answer to.
“ Oh! I do suppose that does make sense on why I didn't recognize you then, sir! ” The blonde chirped out at first, clasping his hands together in front of himself, before briefly pausing at the question given. But soon enough he ended up chuckling lightly at it.
“ I'd say you only really stick out for the fact that you're new here. If this were a proper, bigger town I'm sure anyone would just assume you're some fellow who'd been living here for who knows how long! ”
Honestly, Pip did think if this was a larger town he would have mistaken the fellow for some bloke around the same he and his ex-peers currently would have been.
“ Most people here, I do believe so at least, seem quite good at recognizing anyone not from town due to that. The fact its a small town, I mean, but I'd hardly say sticking out like that is something to concern over. There's quite a few people who have been living here for years that stick out even more after all — ” He then went on an abrupt pause, shaking his head after a moment. “ Oh my, I've begun to go on and ramble. My apologies for that, my good sir, we've just met and there I went talking your ear off. ”
