Talon AU.

In which Genji, after being brought nearly to death by Hanzo, is saved & given cybernetic enhancements by Talon, rather than Overwatch. He carries the appearance of Blackwatch Genji regardless of his place in the timeline, as he is never given any further upgrades.

In this AU, his psyche has been very much manipulated by Talon. He is very much in conflict with himself, having been taught to suppress his emotions and act as nothing but a weapon to be used as Talon pleases, but still very much retaining his human side, and all of the feelings and independence that comes with it. He has something of an acquaintanceship with Reaper, as the two share a very similar, bitter view of the world, but generally tries to avoid everyone.

Genji carries the same weapons/abilities as he would in the main ‘verse. 

His official job in the group is as an assassin. Talon has an enemy, he gets rid of them. End of story. This puts him at frequent odds with Overwatch, especially when it comes to the more prominent members. By the time of the Overwatch recall, he is responsible for the deaths of multiple (many, even) deaths within the Overwatch ranks.

Pre-fall, Genji works tirelessly in what little free time he has to dismantle the Shimada-gumi singlehandedly. It’s no easy task, but by the time Overwatch is recalled, he has succeeded in his mission, much to Talon’s irritation. 

In this verse, Genji has no relationship with any Overwatch members. This includes Zenyatta-- the two do not meet as they did in canon. He detests his brother, says all the time how he LOATHES the Shimada family as a whole. He keeps a picture of he and his brother in his room, hidden. He looks at it often.
