me explaining to literally anyone who will listen why kuya and yakumo not getting an event together was actually a good thing in hindsight because now it means quincy and yakumo can have an event together:

Oh I am absolutely interested in your thought process for nu carnival! I find the concept of gatcha gaming fascinating, even when divorcing it from its pseudo-gambling origins. I think it is a highly fascinating development for game design, so yes I'd love to hear the process for another game! You're very insightful, so I appreciate the time you've taken to answer me, truly.

ok so for nu carnival it’s slightly different than genshin, whereas genshin focuses on new characters and occasionally reruns old characters, nu carnival rereleases old characters as new ssr cards and scarcely releases new ones. edmond, yakumo, olivine, quincy, kuya, blade and the recently introduced dante are the characters that get ssr cards (aster and morvay are forever stuck in sr hell 😔)

characters in nu carnival have elements as well as classes, elements are far more likely to be changed than classes but it does happen sometimes. for example yakumo’s sr is a healer class while two of his ssrs have been striker class and one has been support. but all of them have been different elements. olivine’s ssrs tends to be support and healer classes, and the other guys tend to follow the same pattern.

but when you’ve collected your fair share of hot guys with their different elements and classes it becomes a situation of.. whether you think their new ssr is hot. and i do very much think quincy’s new ssr is very hot. and i would pull for yakumo no matter what because i love him to the moon and back. aaaand when you pull a character in nu carnival you get access to their intimacy rooms, which feature sexy scenes in rooms 2 and 5 if you pull an ssr, or just room 5 for their sr cards.

so my method for pulling for characters in nu carnival is slightly different, because while i have access to the discord that collects all the intimacy scenes it’s a bit of a hassle to watch them that way as opposed to unlocking them in game where you can watch them any time.

so basically: if it’s yakumo or quincy, i pull automatically because 🥰🥰 second reason i would pull is if i’m interested in their abilities but that’s not really as important to endgame players like me
