He shouldn’t have fallen for her. After all the woman turned him into a gold fish. A gold fish! That was reason enough for him to keep his feelings to a minimum. Though he tried he failed, and somewhere along the line he fell for Abby and he hoped that she would feel the same for him.

But the longer he stuck around, the more certain he was that she would never and that his feelings would never be returned. Same old story, he thought. Same ol’ ending. 

But when she pulled him in and gave him that kiss his heart skipped a beat, hands resting gently on her waist. He wanted to hold her close, keep her there with him as she said she should go. Caiden simply shook his head not wanting to be without that tingle she left on his lips. “Stay.” He asked lightly as he brushed his lips against hers in return.

“Stay with me.”

He didn’t expect a different reaction - after all what he said was rather out of the blue , wasn’t it? A chuckle left him. “No, I’m not joking. I’d marry you.” He told her as-a-matter-of-fact. But he knew he better explain himself - he was a goldfish once. He doesn’t want to go back to that. 

“ You know if it comes down to it - I like you, Abby. A lot. So..Yeah, I’d like to marry you. I’m not saying you should say yes or even saying it’s actually me asking, I’m just putting it out into the universe that if I had a chance in hell then...” He nodded slowly. “ I’d marry you.”
