“hey, bro, i think i need a therapy session,” kai attempts to joke as he moves over to sit besides his brother on the couch. after athena’s whole confession, it sent his mind a spiral. he truly now understood how his brother felt. kai wasn’t very good at feelings, he was always the one to bottle it up until it came out one way or another. seeing as his brother went through a similar situation, he decides to take him up on his offer on talking. “so, um... athena might of told me that she likes me... as like more than a friend.”

chad hadn’t seen cieran since their last unfriendly encounter. he knew that he was in the wrong for trying to push his buttons to try and get a reaction out of the other. he didn’t realize that the girl had such an important place in his heart. licking his lips, he glances across seeing the guy knowing that he had to make it right. walking up to him, he clears his throat. “hey, dude can we talk?” he starts before licking his lips, “look, i didn’t realize that kalani was so special to you... i mean, athena sort of hinted it and stated that i should try something to see what you’d do.” he admits sheepishly, “and i’m sorry...” he mutters out, one thing about chad is he never apologizes. not even when he was in the wrong, but this was different, he crossed the line.

kai didn’t realized how much he missed his brother until he saw the other again. matter in fact, he picked him up at the airport where he looked a mess, but of course he just teased him about being a bundle of sunshine -- lately it seem that nobody was that. the two hadn't really been able to have a talk except for the time in the car since their mother insist on having some family time and he wasn't going to argue with his mom on that. grabbing two drinks from the kitchen, he heads over towards his brother who looked like he was distracted. a small chuckle escapes his lips as he glances over towards the person he was looking at. “stop staring if you’re not going to talk to her,” he mentions, handing over one of the red cups. “are we ever going to discuss it?”

christmas was right around the corner and in the brooks’ household it was a huge deal. so here everyone was cier, mari, their mother, and himself in the living room detangling lights and tinsels that was stored away. kai noticed the shift of behavior in his brother, noticing that he seem happier. he eyes the other suspiciously, not commenting on his behavior for a while until they were done untangling everything. “you seem oddly happy...” kai trails off glancing over towards him. “what’s your deal?”
