i’m gonna take it a sllllightly different direction, because i have more than 5 favorite fics, but i do this super fun thing where i read fics for shows i’m not familiar with, so this is: top 5 fics that, even though i’m not overly familiar with their canons, i am sure are better than canon

a brief history of home invasions by catwalksalone: ncis, in which dinozzo moves in with mcgee, and everything would be fine if it weren’t for those darn threatening letters that mcgee keeps getting

business associates by moeexyz: sp7 s3 au, in which steve doesn’t want to hang out with cib or james anymore, so he turns to his last resort: jeremy

amber by scioscribe: skyfall-era bond. it’s a story about biological warfare and even saying that kind of feels like a spoiler. it’s a very particular, chilling kind of horror and that’s not normally my jam but i love it a lot

how long will you stay (for your whole life) by withthepilot: star trek aos parks and rec au. i’m, like, loosely familiar with both of these series and somehow this mash-up delights me beyond words

this sudden burst of sunlight by attila: critical role campaign 1. in which vax and kash decide, fuck it, they’re having no luck in love, so they pretend to date each other. it is a disaster and it’s PHENOMENAL

i haven’t watched s2 of runaways yet but s1 is still excellent

top 5 worst adaptations:

yj s2 was a mess and we all know it, okay

i have never sat down and properly watched the dark knight trilogy but i’ve seen parts of the first two movies and the whole third one and i can say, with confidence, that it misses the point of batman

i have mixed feelings about ttg but i think it hits the audience of “parents who like comics” and “kids who don’t know better” and misses pretty much everyone else, so here we are
