Like I had mentioned before to Rae, not much really rattles Ryuto... but after watching many true crime videos, I realize that on the off chance someone he cares about happens to go missing, he will just be beside himself with worry (especially if they happen to be a woman, because they’re far more prone to violence than men).

Seriously, though, this boy would literally spend many sleepless nights, researching their whereabouts and expending all the available resource just to find them. At some point too, he will likely admonish the police for being ‘useless’ and will snap at another person for telling him to rest, because in his eyes, he doesn’t have the ‘luxury of sleeping’ when they could be in trouble

...On top of that, he doesn’t trust the police to do jack shit, so being around him would be mental anguish, because on one hand, you can tell he’s agonizing over their disappearance, but on the other hand, he’s hell bent on finding out just what happened to them, to the point where it would negatively affect his physical health.

Normally, though, Ryuto goes to bed at a reasonable hour and is the type to always be sufficiently rested and is nowhere near as stubborn as Sonia, so you know something is wrong if he deviates from his regular routine or refuses to take care of himself.

On the off chance they’re ever found, though, he might not hug them but will admit for once he’s ‘immensely relieved’ with brows remaining drooped... then afterwards, you can bet he’s installing a tracking device on their phone or their belongings just in case they were to ever get kidnapped or something, due to how the disappearance would have traumatized him so much, he can no longer rest easy if they insist on going home alone.

Every time I remember Ryuto’s favourite drink canonically happens to be ‘probiotic drinks’, I end up cackling...  like, it isn’t something more sophisticated, but something more along the lines of Yakult.

And the reason he has for considering them his favourite always makes me so damn amused, because it implies he cares about his physical health, weight, and facial hygiene... so if nothing else, I could see him not indulging in sweets as often as he might like, due to the fact he’s worried about gaining pimples or becoming fat.

As much as people might criticize Ryuto for being a pompous rich kid, he’s still arguably quite kind. It’s just that his kindness tends to be more so subtle, to the point where it’s often reflected through his actions rather than his words.

For example, if he ever finds out a student at his school is being bullied, he will personally use his power and influence to have the perpetrators expelled and punished. Like, Ryuto may not go out of his way to comfort the victim, but you can bet he would gather evidence, threaten them with it, and make it apparent he won’t let that sort of behaviour slide, so he pretty much makes Kitaouji Academy a safe place for essentially everyone except bigots.

He’s also the type to verbally call out able-bodied folks for using a space designated for disabled people, so in that sense, he’s different from your average Japanese citizen who would rather stay silent than cause a scene. Ryuto, though... he has no qualms insulting a Karen if he notices they’re inconveniencing a person with a wheelchair. Seriously, he absolutely refuses to be a bystander and will confront assholes to such an extent that they would feel uncomfortable in public.

Honestly, rather than look down on those who come from less than affluent backgrounds... Ryuto actually sides with them more than he sides with the wealthy - in other words, he does not exactly suffer fools, no matter where they happen to stand on the social hierarchy.

To be honest, Ryuto is that one cishet ally who will literally pay for your top and bottom surgery just because he can. Like, seriously, he’ll offer to not only cover the costs, but schedule an appointment with the best surgeons too because he believes in using his privilege to aid those who need it.

Honestly, this includes even people he personally can’t stand, for realistically speaking, Ryuto would still want to help them? Like, it’s already canon he’s the type who would assist others unconditionally, so while he won’t necessarily have kind words to give you, he will still attempt to alleviate your gender dysphoria, which is evident enough that he cares in his own way.

Of course, knowing him, I can also see him being appalled at the lacklustre healthcare trans people are given before then deciding that he’ll find a way to do womb transplants as well. Like, if nothing else, he’ll probably go down in history as being that one doctor who manages to get paralyzed people to start walking again and make it so trans women can give birth if they want to... which means he’ll probably be a controversial figure in the medical community, because on one hand, he dared to ‘fix’ physically disabled people ‘when they weren’t broken to begin with’ (while often ignoring the fact he himself happens to be autistic) but Ryuto also happens to be the biggest advocate for trans rights.

This, unfortunately, would mean the LGBT community would love him while the disabled community would probably conclude he is ableist on the basis he views them as ‘something to cure’, when all he wants is to just improve their lives and give them more opportunities. At the very least, however, Ryuto would be a doctor that doesn’t require money and would willingly treat those who can’t afford it... including trans people.

TLDR, though? Ryuto is that one straight friend who you’d wanna protect, because he would do more for trans people than most performative straight allies... without even expecting anything in return.

How does Ryuto cope with Kobatos idiocy?

To be honest, Ryuto just sighs a lot and has a habit of massaging his temples every time Kobato proceeds to behave like an idiot. He also would find himself adding copious amounts of sugar into his tea whenever he comes back home and would try to take his mind off him by reading or doing brain exercises.

He'll also probably complain about him to @strywoven's Dyn'lo, but that would only be occurring in a separate AU due to Dyn'lo being a fantasy-esque muse in modern setting... but yeah, long story short, he somehow manages.

Does Ryuto use social media?

To be honest, it's already canon Ryuto has a Gossiper account (which is basically The Caligula Effect's version of a Twitter account), but it's set to private. Still, considering he often focuses on studying and his schoolwork, I don't imagine he spends a lot of time on social media sites, especially since he likes to use actual books as source material for his essays/assignments rather than the web, but every once in a while, he might watch educational documentaries on video hosting sites like YouTube or Netflix.

Is there anything Ryuto would find ugly or not likable about someone else?

Well, Ryuto does automatically dislike idiocy and incompetence, but at the same time, it's possible for him to eventually warm up to those who aren't that bright or have instances where he finds them oddly endearing, so while he did start off disliking most of the other Go-Home Club members and @mugunghwc's Hana for example, he does end up growing more of a weird soft spot for them over time.

Of course, they still wouldn't necessarily be romantic candidates for him, as he himself is very picky when it comes to potential love interests, but provided they end up sticking around, they may eventually earn his fondness.

Honestly, the only instance I could see Ryuto being more lenient/understanding with someone that isn't smart right off the bat is if they had suffered a brain injury or they're someone with higher support needs compared to him, to the point where he would surprisingly be much more kinder to them than neurotypical individuals.

But going off from how enraged he was when he learned Doktor from The Caligula Effect 2 endangered the safety of the people in Redo and broke the Hippocrates Oath, I imagine he views people who would continually mope over the past instead of focusing on what they can do and those who puts other people in harm's way for their own personal means to be unlikable.

With his whole noblesse oblige stick, I also headcanon Ryuto would also find those who would prey on or take advantage of the weak to be immensely ugly, even if on the outside, they happen to be conventionally attractive.

Does Ryuto like to be informed about world events too, reading news?

Yes, actually. One thing about Ryuto is that he likes expanding his knowledge as much as possible, so he'd make a habit of being very well informed about what's going on in the world, meaning if new laws have been passed in other countries or political leaders have been elected, chances are high he would know about it.

Honestly, I can't see him limiting himself to only news regarding Japan either, because he isn't the type to be content about remaining ignorant... so he probably can name current mayors/presidents/senators, dates of important events, and victims of crimes better than say, the average Canadian born citizen; in fact, I can see him judging Vivian for living in Vancouver yet not knowing who the mayor is, let alone the issues Canada is currently facing.

...But yeah, long story short? He'd be reading the news for sure in order to stay up to date with the world at large.

Though it’s canon Ryuto has only ever made anything in Home Economics class, I do actually headcanon that if he’s given a recipe, he would able to recreate the dish flawlessly. Like, this boy consistently scores 100% in everything (aka he’s graded ‘S’, which basically equates to A+ in the US), so as much as it would doubtlessly infuriate people, there’s honestly not a single subject he’s bad at... including P.E or Home Economics.

Of course, Ryuto would prefer that others cook/bake for him due to the fact it’s not really his thing and he’s kinda lazy, but he can still make a mean soufflé or Okonomiyaki. Honestly, whereas @more-than-a-princess​’s Sonia can’t be trusted in the kitchen, he himself is a very competent, fast learner, to the point where seasoned chefs would want him as a kitchen hand. Like, if Ryuto actually wanted, he could even be a professional chef or a baker, but he chooses not to pursue that career path due to the fact he prefers, quote on quote... ‘more intellectual pursuits’.

Well, when you ask him over WIRE if there’s any clothes he favors, Ryuto did once state that he wasn’t a ‘finicky dresser’ and his uniform suits him just fine, so I imagine he’s really not the sort of person who would obsess over what to wear at the start of his day. With this being the case, he probably wears either the clothes his personal tailor made for him or just outfits the more fashion-conscious servants had personally arranged.

Honestly, if it were up to him, Ryuto would buy several sets of the same clothing instead of like... choosing a variety, so he would constantly be wearing a boring white button down shirt with black pants and the same shoes he donned in his concept art during less formal occasions. When it comes to accessories, though, he is fond of earrings, so I can see him collecting them and changing them up every now and then, so a different one could be found dangling off his ear.

As for his hair... well, going off from the way it’s tousled looking with strands jutting out every which way, I like to think it’s naturally wavy, to the point where he gave up basically running a comb through it, because it would refuse to stay straight.

Also, considering he doesn’t wish to stand out more than he already does, Ryuto doesn’t really wear makeup unless it’s to cover any injuries to his face ( and he has had several, due to the fact I headcanon he’s fiercely protective over his servants, to the point where he has no qualms really taking hits for them ).

He does, however, bathe regularly ( using the most expensive soaps ) and takes care of his personal hygiene really well, meaning he’s the type who would not only brush his teeth, but floss as well, and unlike men who pride themselves on being ‘manly’, Ryuto does actually shave; in fact, he doesn’t do it for just his face, but his armpits, arms, legs, and chest, due to how he personally abhors hair on his body. His nails, on the other hand, are merely trimmed and left alone underneath his gloves. As a result, people often call him a ‘pretty boy’ in The Caligula Effect 2.

So I guess while he doesn’t spend a lot of time on clothes or hair, Ryuto does spend a lot of time grooming and maintaining his personal hygiene, due to the fact he doesn’t wish to ‘resemble an ape’ like his father.

^ My face upon realizing Ryuto Tsukishima is actually an autistic-coded character after re-watching his character episodes and with how I portray him, it actually makes a whole lot of sense for him to be neurodivergent... especially when I re-read his interactions with Rae’s Sonia. Plus, he’s canonically called a ‘savant’ and I have unknowingly written instances where he was able to effortlessly ‘mask’ ( aka act in ways others might consider “normal” in order to be accepted by them ).

Also, come to think of it, the reason I feel so strongly about Ryuto being more understanding/kinder to neurodivergent people is likely because he happens to be autistic himself...

Because Ryuto is someone who values facts and logic over feelings and emotions, people often get the sense he’s detached from others... which isn’t exactly the case; in fact, he does actually care. 

Like, for as much as he might roast you or insult you, he’s the type of person who would still remember even the smallest thing you tell him (i.e: your birthday, your favourite food, etc) and if you’re feeling out of the weather, he would take time out of his day to check up on you.

He’s also someone who would bring over a lost item at the police station or return other people’s missing stuff if he knows who they belong to... and if you ask him for help with something, chances are high he won’t turn you down unless he has good reason to. Why, this guy pretty much views it as his duty to assist the less privileged, meaning he isn’t so haughty, he’ll ignore the pliight of commonfolk.

Honestly, if Ryuto is going to cooperate or work alongside others, he actually considers it in his best interest to get along with them, so no matter how annoying he finds someone or how difficult talking to them is, he’ll still put in actual effort to be a team player and will have no qualms, seeking advice on how to establish a positive rapport with somoone he’s at odds with.

When it comes to Ryuto, we never really know much about his family life, other than the fact he’s wealthy, his parents expect a lot from him, and he apparently has a grandfather that he always visits on New Years. Of course, I haven’t read all his WIRE answers as the Caligula Effect 2 update containing more WIRE questions and new song covers happen to be Japan-locked, so for all I know, he talks more about his family, but for the time being at least, I headcanon his father is actually a rich banker who owns/manages a group of banks across Japan while his mother is the vice president of ‘Tsukishima Group’, an investment firm his grandfather had originally established.

Honestly, even before they had been arranged to be married, both were really well off, financially speaking, so I imagine their son had a privileged upbringing where he lived in a mansion, had his own maids, and was your stereotypical ‘bocchan’ with a personal chauffer who I headcanon later ended up getting fired and replaced by Kobato after he escapes Redo with all the Go-Home Club members, but that’s a whole another story for another time. Due to this, Ryuto probably attended a lot of parties with upper class families in attendance, meaning while there, he would have played the part of the perfect son to appease his parents. This, as a result, led him to become practically beloved by high society.

Why, not only is he an academically gifted prodigy, Ryuto’s also comes across as pleasantly affable, charming, and boyishly handsome; therefore, many upper class families favored the idea of marrying their daughters off to him. Honestly, in the event that he’s still single during his twenties, the prospect of arranged marriage in his future will likely come up... but upon returning back to reality, Ryuto will only be focusing on finishing his third year at the college prep school he mentioned to have attended and studying to get into medical college (which is a verse I’m planning to write soon, once I stop being a lazy butt).
