a golden cross necklace, that has a small diamond where the two lines intersect. this was given to serena by her father when she was born, and the chain has been updated as she's gotten older. everyone in her immediate family has one. after her father's death, his was passed to august, and serena received their mother's. masen's was left in his room after he ran away, and it hasn't been touched since.

a pair of pearl drop earrings. these belonged to her mother, and she only wears other earrings for special events.

a diamond ring set on a thin golden band on her middle finger. august gave this to her when she turned thirteen, and the band has been adjusted as she has gotten older.

another piece of jewelry she is likely to be seen wearing is a charm bracelet, given to her by her ballet instructor in paris. he still sends her charms for every principal role that she performs.

serena is extremely flighty. she's hard to keep hold of. there are a lot of reasons for it, starting in her childhood - when serena was a little more unruly, and generally disliked by her peers. she was a weird kid! so serena always has the idea that she's not truly liked by anyone. and sometimes she's right.

she's deeply insecure about her worth to others, and she struggles to have heavy conversations. serena will just be quiet, unsure how to say what she needs, and she usually ends up running away from difficult things and conversations.

there have been friends and significant others that serena has just ghosted because she couldn't figure out how to talk to them, because her mental health is so shaky, and she just doesn't know how to hold a friendship because she's never had a truly good one. serena would rather disappear than be hurt.

serena as an adult will always be closer to august than masen, just because masen left. as children though, all three of the carlisle kids were extremely close. when serena was born, her brothers would fight over who would hold her, who would play with her, and who would take care of her. serena was incredibly spoiled, which made it even more heartbreaking for her when masen ran away.

she would still be happy to see him though. if masen came back home, she would welcome him back, but their relationship would never be the same. serena still supports his music career, and masen sends her his cds before they're released. there's a rumor that every album's track two is about his estranged little sister, but that's unconfirmed.

not often! serena has trouble falling asleep anywhere but her soft, cozy bed. although, if she pulls her blankets into the living room for a movie night, then the odds of her falling asleep on the couch are a little higher. usually, serena only falls asleep on the couch when she's extremely exhausted, when she's sick, or when she's watching her favorite movies.

there's this case in aa that i'm watching rn where this girl is 16 but consistently referred to as cute, beautiful, etc. people are like excited to talk about her, and i think that's exactly how serena grew up. people often calling her sweet, cute, beautiful, regardless of how old she is.

i think serena mostly has older friends. like the people she considers her personal friends are usually much older than her. it's hard to do in rp since most characters are young adults but i think if she were in a book setting, serena would primarily interact with characters at least 5+ years older than her. she feels awkward around people her own age, and was always treated as a little adult. and in ballet, most of her "friends" were either older girls who weren't threatened by her, or her teachers.
