The Professor knew that time is of the essence, but she also knew techology was complex. The security of this place was well established, even breaking in and fighting past the guard was a bit of a feat, but they accomplished their task. Now Midnight was finishing up the difficult part, however, as she expected—even hacking into their mainframe was arduous,but not impossible.

“Approximately fifteen minutes, so you have to buy me a bit more time. I have high hopes you can protect me. I will be unable to defend myself while my focus is to get in. This mission will be a success. Trust in my abilities, you did hire me to get this job done did you not?”

If anything, she could be confident in was her ability to get around this. Compared to the tech back from her old planet, this wasn’t much a headache. Just a matter of breaking down the code, getting the password wasn’t required for her with this method. She’ll basically reprogram their systems and be able to hijack with it before they could take control. 

“Looks like they already caught on to our plans, you know what to do from here. I’ll let you know once I’m done.”

The Professor just exits her lab after she checked her email that detailed some unsettle news. She wanted to investigate more on it, but she already sent Stealth Bomber on a mission and anyone else she could ask was already busy taking care of other things. Who could she ask to assist her in this investigation? Goddess or not, it was like the cosmos heard her prayer. As she steps outside, she glances up at the voice greeting her. Confusion was not hidden from her visage. When did he? Well, the real question was how long has he been there?

“Now, when I said you’re free to make yourself at home when visiting here, I did not mean literal, Mr. Rex.” A sigh left the Professor’s lips as she notes to be cautious with her wording in the foreseen future. 

Stopped in her tracks. Midnight is left with no other choice. For now, she would brush off the issue with his current arrangements—maybe this will be time to see for her own eyes how capable and useful this man could be. 

“Since you’re already here. I need your aid and it will not go without compensation.”

Something went horribly wrong with her main computer. It wasn’t a software issue, and she backed up everything and it transferred to another computer. But the hardware became fried. There was only one person she could blame, but it wasn’t his fault. In a way to compensate for the trouble. Mercury referred someone who can fix it. 

It wasn’t long before Midnight met face to face with a white-haired man. His expression was as empty as her own and he seem more aloof. Strange, she was worried that the person who was referred to her would have been obnoxious, but this man was the latter. 

“I apologize for the short notice, but do you think it could be fixed as soon as possible? I’m a bit pressed on time.” 

There was work to be done. She had to get this data for the research she was doing completed before the deadline. It was a last-minute referral from a colleague named Dr. Haruka Miwa. A rather renown doctor, inventor and researcher that even owned her own facility called Rosencrest. Midnight and her keeps in contact as she is helping her with the research and development of Anima without a hassle.

Mars can’t complain about her, when he knows his brother is brighter than she is.

“I’m more than happy to return to working. However, what is this lethargic sensation of wanting to remain in bed? I should avoid taking vacation time in the future.”

"It is unnatural than most have seen, but it's not something I would take as a compliment. It causes me to stand out too much. It's more of a burden than something I should take pride in." Compliments on the Professor's physical appearance isn't something she take pride and praise in. It makes her a bit conscious that wasn't from this planet. That something about her was different and she wished there was something she could to make her feel more natural when blending with others. A reminder of a goal she wishes to accomplish.

“I suppose this is a vacation needed. I won’t be getting any work done during his retrograde.” A forced understanding that she will need to take a break from her work—otherwise her research and everything she achieved up to this point maybe all for nothing.

I’ll inform Saturnus we can finish our business matters once I know your presence is gone from the manor.”

“Anyone that finds that man remotely attractive need to get their head checked.” Of course, she haven’t met the other IL Vuoto members, but she can say she detest that man the most from her encounter.

After that incident, she refuse to touch anything he makes.

Her chest was bubbling up with anxiety, fear, but also relief that he was willing to try. For the first time in years, her navy blues blurred with water that emits from her sockets. She would get down to knees not caring if her stockings or lab coat gotten dirty before pulling him close into a gentle warm embrace. 

“I don’t want to lose anymore people I care about and I don’t want to be alone anymore either. I know it’ll be long ways to go, but I hope that we can be a family.”

She was angry, but usually she can brush it off or hide it with mild annoyance. But why wasn’t her emotional repressors working? There is no way that she can switch them off without going through the process of using her powers. That left only one thing: that potion he slipped into her drinks. They revoked her ability to suppress her emotions. 

“SATURNUS, YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY!” Her tone that was usually monotonous now have volume to it. Her eyes that lacked any emotions now was filled with fury and her lips even tightened as she glared at him. “Give me the antidote now or I’ll kill you where you stand.”

The fact that she even threatened to kill him was unlike her. Yet these impulsive feelings that was controlling her. It felt overwhelming as if years of bottled of sensations were overflowing— which they were.
