          The mere utterance of their name was a euphoria for black sun,   the very thought of white moon could clear any rainy day the world could throw his way.   They shined ever brighter,   pulling him into their orbit one glance at a time.   Since the fateful day of their meeting,   this feeling never left.   Like he’d finally found his other half,   one attached by digits to a crimson thread that could never fray or tear.   The sun,   finally catching up to the moon,   like morning follows night.   Not a single soul could compare to them,   in living or in death.   

          A lovesick grin pulled at lips,   digits slowly slipping to place against his own heart.   That’s where they belonged,   where @firstdance was.

                       ❝   Rukia is ... my everything.   ❞   Boy spoke firm,   grin growing ever larger at the sentiment.

 💭 + Bond with Zangetsu!

                         Guess I’ll give one for each version of Zangetsu ...

          Old Man Zangetsu is Ichigo’s favorite of the bunch,   no question about it.   He taught him Bankai,   helped him in defeating Kenpachi,   and helped draw out as much power as possible through the fights ahead.   The sudden reveal of him not actually being Zangetsu was ... heartbreaking.   When Ichigo confronted Juha Bach for the first time,   the resemblance ... it was too much.   Deep down inside ... he knew.   But,   he’d never imagined he was a manifestation of his Quincy powers.   That was ... a lot to take in.   But all in all,   Old Man is still rocking with Ichigo and he is not Juha Bach.   Case Closed.

          Hichigo,   or True Zangetsu,   has always been ... difficult.   Ichigo would be lying is he said he didn’t hold resentment towards the entity.   The Ulquiorra incident alone struck fear into his heart.   The fear of losing himself,   even after knowing that Zangestu’s true power is hollow related.   It’s still a frightening power,   one he still wearily uses beyond his Mask.   Their relationship is strained,   but they are working on it  !

          Tensa Zangetsu was a special case,   one that Ichigo spent an extended amount of time with as they clashed blades for what felt like years.   Tensa was ... a sad soul.   One that held resentment towards his wielder,   just because of Ichigo’s selfless tendencies.   Tensa just wanted to protect Ichigo,   and that hurt the most in saying goodbye.   He had to give it all away to protect what he wanted to protect.

💭+ His feelings on helplessly watching the captains fall from Aizen. His feelings when he was unable to stop Toushiro from stabbing through Hinamori.

          Ah yes ... the ever roundabout feeling of being helpless that Ichigo struggles with constantly.   That no matter how strong he becomes,   he still can’t save everyone.   Watching helplessly as friends and family are cut down before him,   too scared to move or attack.   This particular feeling has plagued him since Masaki’s death by his own weakness to act.   This feeling of remorse and self loathing ... he hated it.

          During Aizen’s assault,   Ichigo has been the only one unaffected by Kyouka Suigetsu,   so he was left to watch his friends and comrades fall to a blade too fast to see.   He froze in place,   fear striking his very heart and soul,   unable to move.   Aizen was ... unsurmountable power.   How would Ichigo even touch him,   when soldiers stronger than he were butchered effortlessly before his might.   The hope that the Gotei had put upon him,   the resolute determination to fell Sosuke Aizen,   Save everyone,   and end this traumatizing war once and for all ... it fluttered away in the breeze,   replaced by the existential dread and fear he’d come to know quite well.

           Needless to say,   at that very moment,   Ichigo had lost hope.   Completely.

💭 + the gotei 13 ( maybe their over reliance on a teenager too )

          Ichigo has a ... complicated relationship with the Gotei 13,   to say the least.   From being introduced to them as an enemy,   to being relied upon because of his latent ability as a War Potential,   to being spied on by them incase he ever went rogue.   His trust in the Gotei has garnered and wavered multiple times over the years,   as the difference in ideals between Ichigo and the organization always tend to differ.   After the time without his powers,   and aging properly,   becoming more mature and self aware,   he has reflected on some of the ... questional tactics the Gotei has employed over the years.   From willing to execute Rukia so effortlessly,   to exterminating the Quincies and starting the entire war in the first place.

          His biggest grievance has surely been the Combat Pass acting as a device to spy on Ichigo,   as well as limit his abilities somewhat,   because deep down they never trusted him in the first place.   Because of their experiences with Ginjou,   it’s sort of understandable,   but still doesn’t justify lying straight to his face for several years,   while also leaning their lives onto his 15 year old shoulders ...

          That’s another thing Ichigo is wary of,   as a kid he was used by the Gotei to win a war he wasn’t supposed to be part of.   Made to give up his own happiness,   life,   and powers just to protect them,   because none of them could overcome Sosuke Aizen,   a problem they also created.   It’s truly unfair how much this organization has truly groomed Ichigo into viewing himself as expendable,   meant as a weapon of War to fight for them,   even though they’ve only ever done the minimum to gain is respect and appreciation.   Sure they gave him his powers back,   but it took 17 months of depression and self deprecation ( that they all knew about cause of him being spied on ) for them to take any action,   and even in the end it was only for him to execute Ginjou Kugo,   or be cut down himself with their full might.

            There’s also the way they treated both Kisuke Urahara and the Vizards in the aftermath.   Some would say it’s not their fault but like ... it lowkey is and they never cared until Aizen revealed himself,   and even then they didn’t care until the Vizards and Kisuke helped in the war against Aizen and the Arrancar.

            SO YEAH,   Ichigo has a very rocky relationship with the Gotei for good reason.

💭+ the death of his mother :')

                                             Ah.       That was touchy.

          Ichigo has ... never truly stopped blaming himself for Masaki’s death.   It is a resentment of himself that will haunt him for life most likely.   Even if it was all actually Juha bach’s fault,   Ichigo was the one that tried to save the girl drowning.   His own selfless tendencies got his own mother killed,   with her powers being robbed at the exact moment.   It was ... a lot for him,   at such a young age.

          This stunted him emotionally for a very long time,   slipping in and out of deep depressions filled with guilt and regret.   This is why Ichigo loved having his powers,   so nothing like that would happen ever again ... and yet it did.   People died because he wasn’t fast enough,   strong enough,   resolute enough.   His protector tendencies aren’t a personality trait,   they are literally a trauma response.

          When he lost his powers after the Winter War,   Ichigo slipped into that same deep depression he’d been in for years before receiving his powers.   It tore him apart,   watching his friends be ripped apart and taken hostage,   powerless to do anything about it once again.   Ichigo needs his shinigami powers for his own mental health’s sake,   this is his crutch to not break down.

          Hazel rolled at the very thought of his former ‘ master ’.   That was a troublesome woman,   one who teased black sun to what seemed like no end.   If it wasn’t about his lack of shinigami experience,   it was surely about ... his personal experience.   Arms found their way to stiff chest,   crossing in defiance of the embarrassment he wrought from her countless times.   Visage began to bloom crimson as he shunned the thought ... that ...

                                           she was the first naked woman he ever saw.

                    ❝   That Yoruichi ... she’s nothing but trouble  !!   I can definitely see why her and Kisuke are friends ...    ❞

          An honest deduction,   but with it a flood of familial thoughts about the woman in question.   Hazel drew away,   thoughts beginning to take hold.   How despite all efforts from black sun,   his mission to save Rukia would have led to death if it wasn’t for her.   How she saved him from Byakuya’s full pressure in a wounded state,   trained him to learn the very bankai he gained for Rukia’s sake,   risked her life for his wish to save someone he met only a few months back.   Yoruichi was ... a kind soul,   one who can sniff out the silver lining in any situation,   one who can laugh in the face of adversity ...

                                     ❝   But ... she’s also very kind.   No matter what,   she will always have my respect.   ❞

          A favorable thought.   Nelliel was the first Arrancar to befriend black sun,   her situation seeming anonymous enough.   It wasn’t until much later it was revealed,   the tragic fall from grace she suffered,   cut down by the foulest of Espada.   Someone she called a comrade.   It made boy sick,   knowing someone so kind could be thrown away like garbage because of pacifism.   He was glad Kenpachi put that guy ten feet under ...

          Lips curled upwards in a gentle grin,   reacting to the thought of all of emerald’s ridiculous antics,   the many hijinks and laughs they shared through their trek through Hueco Mundo.   To be honest,   her smile ... it was one of the only things keeping shinigami’s feet on the ground,   from drifting further than he had ... from failing.   

                ❝   Nel is a really good friend,   she helped out a lot in Hueco Mundo ... and gave me a distraction when I desperately needed one ... she’s a good person,   no doubt about it.   ❞

                                  The old man huh ...

          Brows furrowed in annoyance,   infuriation at the thought of many peaceful dreams interrupted by flurry of punches and kicks.   Their relationship was ... strained at the least,   but that wasn’t anyone’s fault really.   Between the loss of Masaki,   secrets being kept all around,   and the ever determination to move forward,   even if it meant losing something,   or even someone,   along the way ... the family had to move past it all.   It was no secret Substitute was much closer to Masaki than Isshin,   and that he held that sickening guilt about getting her killed deep down,   where it could fester,   clawing at a young boy’s heart day after day ...

                                  ❝   The old man is so annoying  !!   Man,   you’d think he’d take a hint once in a while,   read a room ...    ❞

         Insult felt like acid upon tongue,   hazel glare drew away in a huff.   After the initial thought of Isshin,   black sun delved deeper into the thought,   where heart would warm and lay vulnerable.   Their talk after the ‘ defeat ’ of Grand Fisher ... Isshin protecting him from Aizen without a second thought ( even in a weakened state ) ... the story about their love and how Ichigo came to be ... and even the decision to become a Medical Student.   As thoughts began to swim, lips soon furled upwards into heartfelt grin.

                             ❝   Maybe the old goat’s not so bad after all ...   ❞

          A moment of thought,   of reflection on the years spent with sister,   watching them grow day after day,   becoming the kind,   proud soul he saw in her all along.   Words could never compare to the feeling of pride he felt when thinking about her.   Karin and Yuzu both were there for black sun in times of strife,   their family having to recover from the devastating loss of Masaki together.   It made them closer,   even if it didn’t show to anyone but themselves.   Karin was special,   someone who would drop their ever placed guard down for Ichigo,   and vise versa.   He’d had to lie to her before,   and it killed him.   She was ... 

                          ❝   She’s always been braver than me.   She gives me the courage I need ... to fight the battles I must.   ❞

          A tinge of guilt reflected upon hazel hue,   memories dancing behind.   Shinigami had known them since he was so young,   they seemed to always be around,   standing in his corner no matter what.   Black sun tried to live life without regret,   but apparently when it came to them,   regret is all he ever felt.   After his mother passed,   he began to drift,   floating further and further away from them as a result of his own insecurities and sadness.   It wasn’t fair to them,   and Ichigo will forever hold that bitterness for himself.

                     ❝   Tatsuki is ... a good friend.   ❞   A pause followed,   lips curling in a grin as he spoke.    

                                             ❝   She still stinks at Tekken though.   ❞

 💭 + hobbies

          Ichigo has a bunch of hobbies,   but none that he’s fully invested himself in because his busy schedule of schooling,  working,  and hollow fighting.   He loves music a lot,  so he tried to learn how to play guitar for awhile when he was younger.  The twins eventually complained about his terrible playing,  and even worse singing.  So that hobby was kinda dropped.

          Ichigo’s biggest hobby,   the one he puts the most time and energy into,   is poetry.   He loves reading poetry,   and even more writing it.   This hobby started from being shown Shakespeare at a young age by his mom,   who also grew to love the arts and poetry.   Maybe that’s why he’s held on so strongly to this hobby and never let it go ???

                                                      It makes him feel closer to her ...

           Regret traced chocolate hue,   one spawned from failure.   If he’d been just a little faster ... understood more of the quincies abilities ... gone straight to Soul Society instead of Hueco Mundo ... maybe things would’ve turned out different.   That regret stayed with Shinigami,   but was always replaced by utter arrogance.   That he thought just because he would’ve been there,   everything would’ve been okay.   Like he was some superman,   an end all be all of Shinigami,   some great weapon of Soul Society ...

                                                  It was all just arrogant nonsense ...

                     ❝   Old Man Yamamoto and I never truly saw eye to eye ... but ... I still respected him a great deal.  I wish ...   ❞   a pause,   as fists began to clench at sides.

          A recoil at the name,   a wince so ingrained by the memory it shall never fade.   A twitch at the heel,   a clawing at hilt of blade.   Beyond the initial peak of anxiety,   a twinge of guilt would dance across hazel.   That Arrancar ... he broke something in Ichigo that hasn’t healed,   unlike the wounds he spared no expense inflicting upon sculpt.   Marred flesh still remained upon sternum,   the ugly result of a difficult defeat.   Black sun gave it everything he had,   and it wasn’t enough.   He couldn’t overcome that wall,   in the face of overwhelming power,    Substitute buckled under the weight,   giving way to the demons that reside deep within.   

          Hazel drifted,   visage facing away in thought.   That war took much from everyone involved,   Shinigami was no different.   Losing himself just to defeat an enemy ... it made him sick.   The flashes of that horrendous fight came in nightmares,   of spilled blood and torn limbs did boy wake from.   That wasn’t him ... it was the beast that lay coiled underneath the skin,   waiting for a chance to strike and take the throne for themself.

                              ❝   I think ... he is misunderstood.   A soldier in a war he didn’t ask for ...   ❞

                                                             ❝   ... kinda like me.   ❞
