im so happy to hear all you have to say, and i mean it with my whole heart when i say that this means so much to me as i really do put a lot of thought and love into my ocs and stories regardless of what verse they're from :DD and im especially happy that you love my iterations of amphi and persephone because drawing them and doing stuff abt them is actually what helped me beyond my creative rut and really pushed me to improve on my craft, artwise storywise and writingwise and hearing that it paid off is so amazing !! even though i've fallen significantly out of ror and do need to check up on it a whole lot, i still think about my greek god blorbos often and i even thought about sketching a quick amphi in between my other works, but seeing as i am one hell of a procrastinator that didnt end up being the case,,,
but seeing this pleasant gift warmed my heart so much that i just had to open medibang again and doodle these two sweeties again in their lunar new year fits just to really exemplify my thank you!!

THE HEART OF VENGEANCE
(heavy ror spoilers below beware beware pls <//33)
Contrary to the very popular belief of Persephone the spring goddess, taken captive by the dashing lord of the underworld, Persephone was the name of a plain daughter from Carthage.
Persephone of Carthage is who she is. Her name is of her own, and she was framed and executed for a crime she never committed. After her death, she was brought to the presence of Hades, and made to be his wife by Zeus' request.
After transcending her humanity and turning into a meek goddess, she came to know the other olympians shortly after her marriage to Hades. Poseidon and Amphitrite were the ones that she became closest with.
In the end, to her miserable irony they were also the ones she lost in Ragnarok alongside her husband who she came to love and care for so deeply.
Amphitrite was the last to leave her. Despite Persephone of Carthage's desperate attempts to persuade her sister-in-law out of this revenge plan of hers, Amphitrite persisted with a solemn look on her face as she held up Persephone's gently. That was the last time she would see her. After, the only people who awaited Persephone were the heirs of the sea. Triton, Rhodos, Benthesikyme, and Eumolpus. For the next 10,000 years, she raised them to adulthood. In those years, she attended each thousand year meeting in agony, barely withstanding the power to even make her decision. But that would never be necessary, every god and deity there already knows what the answer of a human turned goddess is going to be.
It takes her those 10,000 years for her to dismantle the coldhearted oath of vengeance for their father that Amphitrite drilled into their heads. In that time, she changes her hair drastically to resemble that of her late sister in law in her honour.
At the aftermath of the first Ragnarok, there was an agreement made between the humans and the gods that from that point forward, the competition was going to be used in place of the previous voting system. For example, if majority of the gods opposed to annihilating humanity, there would be no Ragnarok. If the majority of gods were in favour of doing so, there will be another Ragnarok. To save their own skin but to also honour the deal made with the winners of the first Ragnarok, they all unanimously opposed ending mankind for 10,000 years. For that amount of time, Persephone could breathe normally.
2,000 years later however, arrived her breaking point. The vote had come to a tie. Poor mortal Persephone watched in horror as the eldest son, Triton, began biting his lip, almost as if he wanted to change his vote. The worst of her fears came to fruition when he ended up doing so in the tiebreaker. The decision was now made clear. Many the gods and deities were tired of cowering, it was unlike them. Triton felt the same, and now in his young adulthood, he understands his mother's ways and reasonings. The following hours after they arrived back at Poseidon's castle, it was the first time that Persephone had laid her hands on anyone. Swiftly and harshly, she slapped Triton in front of all of his younger siblings. They couldn't blame her, but they understood why too. All that Persephone could do was start pleading at the feet of the Fates to not let any of the kids be on that roster.
To her heaviest dismay and relief, it was her who made it onto the roster instead. Alongside Nyx, Amaterasu, Athena, Bakunawa, Amihan, and a few more others. The safety of Poseidon and Amphitrite's kids came at the cost of her, but that was a decision she had to make if she wanted the last piece of those two to survive. Not to mention, Hades had unfortunately left her without a child.
Zeus let her know in advance that she would be the final fighter, but either way Persephone knew what her outcome was going to be. Hera left her sympathies before going to spectate. When it came for Nyx's round, the empress of the night barely pulled out of there, missing both arms. It reminded Persephone too much of her own husband's death, where she shed tears of joy thinking that it would end in Hades' victory after Qin Shi Huang lost an entire arm. But seeing her now, one could obviously tell what happened after.
The rounds passed by with tremendous amounts of shock and grief for the fighters who lost, and then, it came for the final deciding round for the second Ragnarok. Persephone vs... Brunhilde, the valkyrie. The crowd was confused at first, valkyries were certainly not human... But they certainly were not fully deemed gods either. Regardless, it would have made sense anyway albeit a little rule breaking since the valkyrie was the one who initiated the first Ragnarok to begin with.
The fight commenced, it was going to be both the tiebreaker and final round. Persephone could feel the anxious stares of the olympians sear into her back. She feels that same anxiety too, but only for a brief second. Over the years after Poseidon, Hades, and Amphitrite's deaths, Persephone found herself slowly agreeing with Amphitrite on her views regarding the beings of Valhalla.
"We owe them nothing, dear Persephone." It was the first time she had been referred to by only her first name. Normally, people added the title 'of Carthage' at the end.
The velvety voice continues, "Do what you wish, and I shall do the same. I will eradicate humanity myself, but not for them, but for my husband and I." White eyes with a slight rainbow gleam strike the soul of Persephone in the now. Brunhilde had been assessing her for the past minute, guard up. When Persephone comes to, every single lovely memory she had of her small but happy circle flashes. The pain she endured during the first Ragnarok, all this pain accumulated and built up over these thousands of years which felt like mere months.
"Persephone." Countless times did her husband call her name so sweetly. So much so that in her dreams she could still feel him, see him, and hear him.
Persephone, the bride of Carthage, had never killed. She never will. Not once in her mortal life, which happens to be why she died. She died of a crime she did not commit.
Persephone, lady of Helheim, had never killed. She will. Just this once in her seemingly immortal life. This will ensure the happiness and best interests of those she loves. She will live because of the vengeance she took out on humanity, the companions she never had.
Out of stress and fear, she rips out a few of her fingernails. Profusely, her nailbeds bleed, the ichor steams and glistens in the high sunlight beaming from the dome window. After she looks at Brunhilde again, who still has not made the decision to try and kill her, she picks her broken nails up and stabs them back onto her fingers, aggravating the wounds. This pain is nothing compared to these 22,000 years without Hades.
Ferociously, and suddenly, with a type of strength that the olympians never knew she could have ever had, Persephone quickly lunges at the valkyrie and proceeds to maul her with her bare hands. Despite the strong resistance from Brunhilde, it is outmatched when Persephone culminates Ichor:Typhon ( Dynasty Crusher ) from gash wounds on her arm and neck and uses it to repeatedly stab Brunhilde on various areas, finishing her off.
After it is clear that Brunhilde is dead, and the gods have won Ragnarok, Persephone feels something. Warm, fuzzy, like she just knelt down on the grassy plains outside her home. When she realizes what she's done, her eyes widen as they glare at the amount of blood on her hands. Before she could scream though, a hand reaches out to her. It's Hades' hand. When she looks up, Hades greets her pitiful sight with the same smile he gave her every morning when they saw each other. Poseidon and Amphitrite are there to the side, closer than ever, and smiling at the sight of their beloved in-law finally pulling through the trials of godhood.
"Come with us, my love. You have done well." There's no doubt it truly is him, for she can hear his voice so loud and clear.
As she reaches out though, the illusion fades away way too soon as she meets the bewildered looks of Triton, Rhodos, Benthesikyme, and Eumolpus. They watched as their aunt who has kept such a passive demeanour through all these years, finally lose it. Then, everything dawns on her a second time. Past the loud cheers declaring the gods as the winners, Persephone stares at the gore she caused. Brunhilde's body was taking a bit too long to disintegrate into nothing.
Göll steps in between Triton and Eumolpus, looking much older and mature than the girl Persephone saw 22,000 years before. Disappointed, unamused, that is the look conveyed on the valkyrie's face. At long last, while the eldest valkyrie is starting to fade away, Göll takes out her own weapon.
As the face of her own death greets her, Persephone only looks at Göll dead in the eye. Almost like a command to do it. The intentions of the four young sea gods for the two sons to willingly step aside to make room for the valkyrie to approach are unknown to her, but regardless, she'd understand. But Göll's plans are obvious, they're happening now.
One last time, her husband and two other most beloved people appear before her. Hades pulls her in for an embrace as Persephone imagines that she joins them in Niflheim.
The four young gods look at each other and nod accordingly. Rhodos comes up quick behind Göll, piercing her with her lance before any truly fatal damage could be done to Persephone.
